I know that seems to he the case sometimes trixy, but the latter part of this thread has not been like that at all.

It's nor fair Grudge. But it's not fair that some people get paid loads and others don't. That should be the argument, not public v private.

iggi999 · 01/12/2011 22:48

My nephew with ASD has had really good state provision. Not the same everywhere.

trixymalixy · 01/12/2011 22:48

Are you ignoring iggi's post saying the private sector are all getting massive bonuses then?

The majority of the private sector are on minimum wage with no pensions, fat cat bankers are in the minority.

JennyPiccolo · 01/12/2011 22:49

There were a lot of people out protesting where i was. I think it'll encourage debate in the long run, if nothing else.

iggi999 · 01/12/2011 22:49

It's in case we ever realise the division is between rich and poor - and actually start to do something about it.
Much better to fuel a public versus private division. Quite clever actually.

BornToBeRiled · 01/12/2011 22:49

That should have said Trixy not grudge. Sorry

Trixy oh my god could you actually read posts before mocking them. I responded to your post where you said that ALL private sector workers were now receiving no or low bonuses. Which isn't true.

BornToBeRiled · 01/12/2011 22:52

Not ignoring it at all. But some, mainly in big companies, but not bankers, are fine too.

SantieMaggie · 01/12/2011 22:54

smallwhitecat I'm sorry to hear about your problems - yes that sucks and unfortuantely provision for these things are better in some parts of the uk than others

iggi999 yeah I saw that...

iggi999 · 01/12/2011 22:55

Swc that isn't necessary. Noone has suggested you should not complain about poor services. Though you don't think quality of provision has anything to do with cuts to services?

All private sector workers are getting lower bonuses, even bankers although it might not seem like it given the size of them, but they are getting lower bonuses relative to those they used to get.

I work in the private sector and have just had my first bonus and pay rise in 5 years. And it wasn't much Sad

iggi999 · 01/12/2011 22:59

You didn't say lower though, you said low. Which isn't true.
If you'd said lower I wouldn't have felt need to comment on it.

SantieMaggie · 01/12/2011 23:01

"People might be happier to shell out for the public sector if what it offered was any good. Trouble is, all too often, it really isn't."

I'm sorry you feel like that. As I'm sure any paramedic, nurse, fire fighter, police officer, teacher, etc etc that may read that comment would be too. I'm not any of these but my org provides an essential service that has saved lives and protects our country everyday. People forget that we are all just people trying to do the best we can with what little the govt gives us to work with.

BornToBeRiled · 01/12/2011 23:02

But I have never had a bonus in 20 years. It's not fair! Grin

Oh FGS iggi, you are really splitting hairs now aren't you Hmm

iggi999 · 01/12/2011 23:05

No I'm not. You chose to highlight a post of mine to make it look like I'd said all private sector workers were on big bonuses.
As I am neither stupid nor ignorant I would never have written that.
