Oh, you CAN see me!

Yes indeed. After a fry up, I intend to go round to parent's houses and mock them. You?

Iheartmolly · 29/11/2011 19:11

I shall be enjoying the day with my dcs. While knowing that the days of public sector workers bleating on about how I am not paying enough into their pension pot is coming to an end

Dawndonna · 29/11/2011 19:11

Oh, good grief!

OriginalPoster · 29/11/2011 19:13

Do you think the government or their minions could be planting these threads in parenting forums, to gauge the public attitude towards people with lots of dcs on benefits? Like a focus group which we are unwittingly taking part in....

tethersend · 29/11/2011 19:15

I am going to demand that they take my pension specifically from your taxes, Iheartmolly.

Iheartmolly · 29/11/2011 19:17

I think the government are well aware of how people feel about benefits scroungers having children they cant afford.

Far more likely to be a journo-or some flunky from The Wright Stuff.

BrianAndHisBalls · 29/11/2011 19:17

Obviously a troll but can we stop trotting out the 3 nights thing, its NOT TRUE.

Iheartmolly · 29/11/2011 19:17

Grin@ tethers. Enjoy it-it nots going to last for much longer.

beers-I wouldnt fret. I predict in 30 years there will be no pensions for anyone unless you have payed into one for a 100 years.

Does make me wonder why my dh is working 60 hours a week-with no pension-rather than just sit at home and claim benefits?Hmm

diabolo · 29/11/2011 19:22

It's mad to suggest that anyone starting these kind of thread (which then generally descends into an Us v Them Public/Private sector nasty row) is a planted government minion merely doing the bidding of "evil" Dave.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and sadly, it seems that never the twain shall meet. But people who disagree with the strikes are not all Tory Trolls - merely a bit pissed off tbh.

flatbread · 29/11/2011 19:25

dawn, sorry to say, but I think you should be grateful, these are benefits, not entitlements.

Ultimately your children are your responsibility, not the government or tax payers. The unfortunate truth is that children and adults with special needs often fall to the wayside in many societies, and the full burden of care falls on the family, with no monetary compensation whatsoever. You should be grateful that the UK is more humane.

natation · 29/11/2011 19:25

For the person who said benefits are so low....
well 1 single parent + 4 children (no special needs)
Income Support + Child Tax Credit + Child Benefit =
£16,660.80 per year

Then there's possible housing benefit which could mean free accommodation, depending on where you live.

Then there's council tax benefit which could mean no council tax.

Then there's free precriptions for the mother.

Then there's free school dinners for the children.

Then there's uniform grants for the children.

So that's really nothing is it?

Well pardon me but it is depriving those living on benefits BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CHOICE of funds which should be given to them.

I am 100% behind a welfare state which is compassionate towards those who cannot support themselves. I am 100% against people like the OP who use the welfare state to finance their lifestyle choice.

Just how can anyone see FREE MONEY as more important than the feelings of an unborn child.

Flatbread.
I am pleased that I live in a society that I live in a society that purports to care for those unable to do so themselves. Not bloody grateful. Just pleased.
My children, despite their differences will grow up to be tax paying, productive members of society. One wants to be a doctor, one a vet and one a lecturer. Due to the support I provide, they are all more than capable of this.

tethersend · 29/11/2011 19:33

Iheartmolly- what's not to enjoy? It's almost worth getting fucked over on our pensions just to see the froth it inspires.

And thank you for predictably telling us how much your DH works, it's added a much-needed depth to the debate. Although, if he's only earning £16k a year on 60 hours a week, he may be in the wrong job.

natation · 29/11/2011 19:37

Sorry forgot to add the 5th child

£19,905.60 per year
Income Support + Child Benefit + Child Tax Credit

It's obscene. One more child and the OP will be on a bigger income than us with 1 full time HEO civil servant income + 1 part time worker.

maypole1 · 29/11/2011 19:37

BeerTricksPotter I very much doubt it the evidence shows children who grow up in workless households are likey to be on benefits themselves hence why we have whole generations of families who have never worked.

So the chance of someone who has never worked child becoming your GP is slim its more likely your gps child will also be a GP

usualsuspect · 29/11/2011 19:38

I'd like some FREE MONEY

tethersend · 29/11/2011 19:40

I'm getting some off Iheartmolly, usual- let's go out on our bikes tomorrow and spend it on comics!

Or fags!

tethersend · 29/11/2011 19:40

Wow, you have 6 kids, natation? I'm impressed.

usualsuspect · 29/11/2011 19:41

I would spend it in the pub ,while I'm striking

ShirleyKnot · 29/11/2011 19:41

I want some expensive money actually.

usualsuspect · 29/11/2011 19:43

Iheartmollys DH earns expensive money I think
