To think this woman is putting her child in a very dangerous position with her racist rantings on public transport?

I doubt it would have ended up on Youtube if it was filmed by a friend

MmeLindor. · 28/11/2011 13:21

Why is it so bad to see this, Helena? I don't understand your reasoning.

It is RL abuse, but it is not live on TV. We are watching a video that someone filmed yesterday, or the day before perhaps.

Why is it different to watching Baghdad being bombed, or demos in Egypt turning violent? That is RL too.

Or the violence against the protesters in US last week. Should we not see that?

miaowmix · 28/11/2011 13:24

I could be wrong but is Helena not saying that she has had personal experience of vile racism, and therefore it is v upsetting for her to have to hear this again?
Apologies if I've got that wrong.
I still think it's good the video is out there, as with any luck somebody decent will report her.

fastweb · 28/11/2011 13:27

Looking at the mouth tic she has going on I'm leaving room for street drugs or perscription meds or a mental health issue being responsible for the lack of inhibition.

But the views are unlikely to exisit in a vaccum of impairment.

MIL has been known to racially abuse people at the top of voice when unwell, but she doesn't turn into a liberal and "peace and love" type when well. Her symptoms just exacerbate the spittle and venom quotient of the views that she holds.

Poor kid. Obviously well used to mum shouting her head off and threatening atmospheres.

DeepPurple · 28/11/2011 13:27

Disgusting and vile woman. Hopefully someone will identify her and the Police can get involved. She certainly sounds drunk which makes it all the more worrying since she seems to be in sole care of a child.

Poor little boy having her for a mother.

Didn't notice that Ginger, thanks.

WorraLiberty · 28/11/2011 13:28

Yes, I think that's what she's saying GreyGardens

But she didn't have to click the link and then watch the youtube video

I suffered racism as a teenager and my son had the shit kicked out of him by a racist gang who stole his phone and his money.

But all the same, I defend the rights of people to post videos like the one in the OP if it highlights just how vile some people are.

And let's not forget, the more this is posted across the internet, the more chance that woman has of being caught and her poor son (hopefully) taken into care by a decent human being.

caramelwaffle · 28/11/2011 13:30

Well.

She is certainly consuming some type of drug; medication, or otherwise.

Her child is obviously used to her raising her voice

She is uncouth, ignorant and I would hazard, a liar (when the black woman responded with "we have to do the jobs you won't do...do you have job? she paused, didn't respond, then said yeah I've got a @%£%£ job, yeah @$%£~...)

This is not an uncommon viewpoint around this area.

She will be a poster girl for NF/BNP within the week.

eurochick · 28/11/2011 13:33

The mouth tic makes me think drugs and/or mental health issues. I feel so sorry for the little boy. :(

miaowmix · 28/11/2011 13:35

Yes I agree Worra. Vile though it is to witness racist shit like this, I hope it leads to her being caught. How horrible for those passengers to be abused like this, and yes, her child will hopefully be removed.

whenwillitend · 28/11/2011 13:38

She IS related to Steptoe and Son, I think that was one of their episodes.

Apart from being racist and verbally abusive she's also 40 years out of date Confused

Serenitysutton · 28/11/2011 13:38

TBF on a forum where a fussy child can't be criticised for being a fussy child lest he has SN I'm amazed that its taken until page 4 for someone to suggest she may be mentally ill. She may well be, or an addict. Many people are not in control of the crap that comes out of their mouths.

MmeLindor. · 28/11/2011 13:44

Serenity
Whether or not the woman has MH issues, the child is not safe in her care.

Shutupanddrive · 28/11/2011 13:48

Wow that's shocking! Shock
It looks like she is off her face on something, her mouth is going like she's on drugs. Poor little boy

caramelwaffle · 28/11/2011 13:48

There are nice parts of the video: the young white girl hugging the young black lad behind ranty woman (after she calmed him down) and the white woman standing up to her (sweary, never the less, standing up to her)

pranma · 28/11/2011 13:50

It was hideous and I hope very much that some action is taken to safeguard her child's moral and emotinal well-being.I hope she is punished in some way too.I felt so sorry for the young man sitting behind her.

oldenglishspangles · 28/11/2011 13:52

www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1870408,00.html Short article on why one possible reason it may be better for people to see this video rather than have it described to them.

TanteRose · 28/11/2011 13:55

Serenity, not sure what page (I have all the messages on one page) but StepfordW mentioned the possibility of mental illness about 20 messages from the top...so fairly early on...

awful situation though Sad

dancingmustard · 28/11/2011 13:56

The camera work was amazing.
While the woman was disgusting and she's off her head on some sort of substance.
I get the feeling someone's cranked her up (Not condoning her shit behaviour just trying to see if there was a reason she went in full flow)
Let's just say she does have MH problems?
Did someone see this and try to get a reaction out of her?

Serenitysutton · 28/11/2011 13:57

ah missed that. i dont' think having metal health issues which occasionally descend into public episiodes means the child should be taken away from her. Maybe teh chidl isn't safe with her- we don't know do we? We're just speculating.

MmeLindor. · 28/11/2011 14:01

No, having MH issues should not mean that the child is removed from the mother, but it does meant that she may need more support than she is currently receiving (if she is already in treatment) and that there needs to be someone there to care for the child in this situation.

fastweb · 28/11/2011 14:02

Whether or not the woman has MH issues, the child is not safe in her care.

Since I brought up the potentiql for MH issues in my post, can I just underline that IF MH issues are responsible for the inhibition, it does not follow that I believe no action should be taken in terms of safeguarding the child (or the mother) on the basis of impairment and diminished responsibility.

My husband was in a not so disimilar postion to the child in vid when small. MIL having bipolar and having little control over her more extreme behaviors, as opposed to just being a repugnant mouthy person, did not magically protect him from the fall out.
