To think this woman is putting her child in a very dangerous position with her racist rantings on public transport?

Well that link has gone viral. I wonder if she's been identified yet?

BrianAndHisBalls · 28/11/2011 17:10

Sara - I meant got help for her possible drug/drink addiction, help with understanding its not on to swear/argue/shout/be abusive in front of a child, help with general parenting, help with understanding its not a good idea to try to start a riot when you're holding your child.... etc etc.

Help with being racist, not sure whether that can be helped, education maybe?

Peachy · 28/11/2011 17:11

Given she may well be suffering from a MH disorder or addiction, I hope she does not harm herself given the publicity this is receiving.

FellatioNelson · 28/11/2011 17:11

I read the comments to current affairs on the AOL homepage all the time and frankly it makes me despair of what the majoirty of the great British public is actually like. Most of them cannot form an argument for or against anything - they just resort to offensive insults and puerile point scoring. It's quite the most depressing read.

Kayano · 28/11/2011 17:15

If that is her son I hope they look into this seriously. She shouldn't be a mother spouting that vile abuse, and clearly he is used to her shouting.

ProfYaffle · 28/11/2011 17:19

London Tonight is tweeting that she's been arrested.

FirstNoelle · 28/11/2011 17:19

'Go back to Nica-Nica-Nicaragua'

PMSL

Its not actually funny, of course.

She is as thick as two short planks, very likely drunk and possibly mentally ill. Poor child. She is very lucky she was on that particular bus, though, and that she had her (poor) child with her. In many other parts of London and in different circumstances she wouldn't have fared so well.

oldenglishspangles · 28/11/2011 17:25

Eudcation about racism might help. However who are we educating? It sometimes feels that many people dont think it is that big an issue. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem when it comes to racism.

Blu · 28/11/2011 17:26

I don't think that we should assume that people who are subject to racist rants are necesarily likely to turn physically violent.

JamieComeHome · 28/11/2011 17:33

True, Blu.

GypsyMoth · 28/11/2011 17:39

Arrested? That's a start then.... Wonder if she will racially abuse the police she comes into contact with.

crazynanna · 28/11/2011 17:43

Seems she's made the papers

GingerWrath · 28/11/2011 17:47

Yep, she is in BTP's custody!

MmeLindor. · 28/11/2011 17:49

I am glad that she has been arrested and hope that she will now get either access to the help she needs (if she has a MH problem) or her son will be taken to a safe place.

It is naive to think that people with these views don't exist or only in the "lower class".

The idiotic EDL league is perhaps the most visible side of racism in UK at present, but it exists in all walks of life.

mrstimlovejoy · 28/11/2011 17:49

she's 34 years old and from new addington according to twitter

JamieComeHome · 28/11/2011 17:52

Actually, what's striking about the film is how calm and restrained people are. I think I'd be angry and I'd say something to her, but people on LT are fairly used to drunken ranting behaviour and try not to inflame things

GypsyMoth · 28/11/2011 17:55

She won't have her child taken away, and will not get in much trouble. If a first offence. Or if on drugs.

The law and nhs won't be her saviour.

GypsyMoth · 28/11/2011 17:56

She could even be an MNer you know!

PlumpDogPillionaire · 28/11/2011 18:00

Didn't 'Nicaragua' from this woman start out as 'Siberia'?
Might be 'funny' if it wasn't so desperately tragic that the poor woman's so completely ignorant.
I guess the world must be quite a scary place for someone with such a complete lack of knowledge.
She needs help.

squeakytoy · 28/11/2011 18:01

I think the people who are saying she may have MH issues are either naive or being way too sympathetic.

There are mouthy gobshites like this all over the place. Most of them do not get caught on film like this, but trust me, there are a lot of them. They do not need to be pissed, or on drugs.. they just have the attitude that they can say whatever they like because they really do not give a shit about anyone but themselves, and they think everyone should be entitled to their opinion.

snuffaluffagus · 28/11/2011 18:02

Tarty you did state in your op that it was a youtube clip so I don't think you need to apologise on that score!

I've been on a bus with a woman who started ranting in a similar fashion (fortunately no kids about at the time) and I tried to shut her up by attempting a debate with her about what "British" actually meant.. I tried to tell her that Britain has been populated/invaded/settled by a variety of different peoples over the centuries and that what she thinks of as "British" is an ignorant falacy.. she looked a bit blank but did quieten down!

JamieComeHome · 28/11/2011 18:07

squeaky - I do agree, but I think she definitely looks drunk/drugged in the clip

lambethlil · 28/11/2011 18:09

I think the rest of the tram behaved with great dignity- it was probably even more obvious if you were there that she was off her face.

I saw the BNP marching the other day, children included and TBH found that far more upsetting.

crazynanna · 28/11/2011 18:11

I saw ayoutube clip recently with some complete idiot on an EDL march saying things like "Moslamic Law" in this country and "Iraqi Law" that's in London Confused If it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny. Arseholes don't even knpw what it is they are protesting about.

Psammead · 28/11/2011 18:11

The OP has been modified to say it's a video, snuffal.
