OP posts:
Peachy · 21/11/2011 15:38

entroy me too; luckily am almsot through an MA in Autism so know my stuff.

Comes from the research of Bettelheim but has a revival every now and again: currently the behaviour Advisory Teacher at our LA is assocaiting ASD with attachment disorder which is annoyed me immensely and I have offered him a debate on the matter Grin

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 21/11/2011 15:39

The sooner we have thought-to-text interface the better. Do away with all this qwerty nonsense. DP reckons its not far off....

Can we edit it or does it just get posted???

If it just gets posted the 'Deleted by Mumsnet' button will be hot.

Peachy · 21/11/2011 15:40

Yes: thought to type will see me banned for life.

entropygirl · 21/11/2011 15:40

ooooookaaay. Thats spooky....

ViviPru · 21/11/2011 15:41

Worra, I have not seen any evidence of Mummystar typing 'completely normally', it all comes across as broken English to me to a greater or lesser extent depending on the thread. Where she is talking about something objective about which she has experience/knowledge, her posts are more clearly expressed, with less txtspk and better punctuation, and when she's getting her knickers in a twist and posting in a hurry subjectively about emotive issues it becomes more pigeon and less well articulated.

I just think that this mornings deleted thread was typical of the later, rather than any sort of contrived attempt at pretence...

Peachy · 21/11/2011 15:43

What's spooky entropy?

entropygirl · 21/11/2011 15:44

My downfall was being too smug over getting quote of the week. I told some people before realising it would 'out me'. DUH!

Previously my sister took one look on mumsnet and just by knowing I had an OP in chat managed to identify me....

My mum was worried about quote of the week and my work finding out or something so I hastily explained that it is username not real name based and she asked me what mine was and I totally and utterly failed to make something up.

ViviPru · 21/11/2011 15:45

Chipping, you just think it, then it appears in the "add your message here" box and then if you decide its a bit near the mark/you could come up with something far wittier etc, you can just think a little edit before you post. And that's how it works in my imagination.

entropygirl · 21/11/2011 15:45

the tiger business and the ghostly visitations from the wedding OP.

btw I really didnt read that thread at all!

Get0rf · 21/11/2011 15:45

I am having a Brucey moment again...

WorraLiberty · 21/11/2011 15:46

I know what you're saying Vivi but no-one I know types with a 'foreign accent' IYSWIM.

Yes, at times you can perhaps tell English isn't a person's first language from little clues, but really it's like my Dad posting "Top o' da mornin to ya" because he's Irish...it just wouldn't happen Lol.

ViviPru · 21/11/2011 15:47

The monkey is in the tree

Peachy · 21/11/2011 15:47

Entropy you know it is easy to name change right?

ViviPru · 21/11/2011 15:51

I'm inclined to agree with you worra, it is odd and I'm debating whether I can be bothered to find a post by Mummystar that comes across as completely normal to prove your point to myself.

But the way she consistently articulates herself on all the posts I've read from her seem pretty authentic though, so either she's genuinely got scant command of written English or its one of the scriptwriters from phonejacker on some sort of twisted ruse...

entropygirl · 21/11/2011 15:52

hmmm and then noone would know about my deleted thread of personal shame +10 either .....

WorraLiberty · 21/11/2011 15:57

or its one of the scriptwriters from phonejacker on some sort of twisted ruse

Yoo won buy DVD? Grin

Sevenfold · 21/11/2011 15:59

I think linking to a thread in the SN topic is nasty. A lot of people in that topic post there and only there, so have reported it.

Peachy · 21/11/2011 16:00

Actually seven I agre it should go

Don't know if nasty as intention was probably good: misguided maybe

WorraLiberty · 21/11/2011 16:01

How is it nasty Seven?

It was a link to a thread on a public board to prove a point about a huge discrepancy in posting styles.

I don't see what the 'topic' has to do with anything Confused

Sevenfold · 21/11/2011 16:02

I am sure the op didn't do it is a mean way, but the sn topic is a support topic, so it should left alone.

Peachy · 21/11/2011 16:10

Worra SN has deliberately been set up so it's a sign in forum so people know what section theya re in- links rather ruin that aim.

Peachy · 21/11/2011 16:11

However now we have the Government reading threads and posting as their departments I may well be vacating MN anyway, just feels wrong so my contribution to SN / ASD may well be ending.

Sevenfold · 21/11/2011 16:13

where is that ? what topic?

Tianc · 21/11/2011 16:13

Sorry, wha....?

Peachy, where did that happen? Shock

entropygirl · 21/11/2011 16:14

whhhaaatt?? The government are on here? Also that means that people have signed in to say stupid things about autism etc? I'm surprised that doesnt help more with keeping the know nothings out?
