To take offence at DHs post on my brothers FB wall?

this probably outs me.

Dh saw DBs wall post showing pics of his fiancee's engagement ring which is very pretty (of course). Thy have a fairly antagonistic relationship with sarcasm as the main mode of communication on both sides.

He just posted: "is that from Wilkinsons range then?" (ie cheap and nasty).

Hmm

Just a bit of childish humour surely? Not, I think, worth of offence and frothing.

FabbyChic · 12/11/2011 19:51

Its a joke why does it bother you

Shakey1500 · 12/11/2011 19:51

Well it's not a nice thing to say but why are you offended?

MenopausalHaze · 12/11/2011 19:52

Worthy ffs

BabyDubsEverywhere · 12/11/2011 19:53

Its a joke...

NinkyNonker · 12/11/2011 19:54

It is a joke, but still mean.

I think that is quite funny Blush. But then sh and I have that type of humour and frequently put comments like that on each others wall. < saddos emote>

Pascha · 12/11/2011 19:55

Because it's nasty. It insults her taste. It's an awful thing to say. DB posted the pic because they are proud of it and want to show it off. The only appropriate response is "how lovely". Anything else is nasty!

Tis obviously sarcastic so why be bothered?

Am sure your DB will find it funny too!

TheRepublicOfDreams · 12/11/2011 19:56

Dh. Stupid phone

paranoidandroidwreckmyownlife · 12/11/2011 19:56

Only you can say if he's being an offensively rude & obnoxious pig or just having a laugh as men do.

HappyCamel · 12/11/2011 19:56

May I be the first to say leave the bastard?

FabbyChic · 12/11/2011 19:56

Oh fgs get a grip on reailty, its a joke dont you have a sense of humour?

RomanKindle · 12/11/2011 19:57

I think anyone so showy as to put pics of their engagement ring on Facebook deserves a bit of banter like that tbh.

TheRepublicOfDreams · 12/11/2011 19:57

I didn't see the sarcasm in it. I didn't see the nastiness either. It is just a joke?

Hulababy · 12/11/2011 19:57

Is it not just a joke between them rather than actually meaning to be nasty? Would DB take it as a joke or would he be offended or upset by the comment?

Pascha · 12/11/2011 19:57

They don't have that kind of relationship. They only see each other once a year and they totally don't get each other at all. DB will be insulted and she will be a bit hurt.

It's not a joke. It's meant.

EricNorthmansMistress · 12/11/2011 19:59

It's between your DH and his mate. It's a blokey banter type comment, not a big deal. Posting pics of your engagement ring on Facebook is very tacky too.

EricNorthmansMistress · 12/11/2011 20:00

Oh, in that case it's a pretty weird comment, yes.

frutilla · 12/11/2011 20:01

It was just a joke. Guys don't comment "how lovely" about rings....

EricNorthmansMistress · 12/11/2011 20:02

It's meant? Really? I'm pretty sure it's a sarcastic joke, he can't really think he bought an engagement ring in wilko's?

Honeydragon · 12/11/2011 20:03

What romancandle said

Pascha · 12/11/2011 20:07

The sentiment is meant.

No you're right Frutilla, they don't usually comment at all. He shouldn't have said anything about it.

I just feel if it was me I'd feel a bit miffed and fed up.
