Well i am not but it matters to you so you must

here

Changes to system WRT worker hours

have a thread in chat and don;t want a debate, or at least won't participate iun one as petrified as we will now certianly lose our home and not up to taking flak. But if it affects you, you need to know.

OP posts:
HarryHillatemygoldfish · 13/11/2011 21:38

Sigh. So now people are attacking SAHP's as being worthless. Does everyone have to look down on someone else to feel better about themselves?

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:40

dawndonna I do feel that members of our societ who actually need benefits should get them. However what I don't understand is why you continued to have children knowing that your first 2 were disabled and you couldn't support them? Correct me if I am making assumptions.

usualsuspect · 13/11/2011 21:43

If you want to turn this in to a SAHM V WOH thread then feel free

It was not meant like that and you know it

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:44

What was it meant like then? the way I read it, is SAHM don't contribute so shouls have no say, WTF? Shock

usualsuspect · 13/11/2011 21:47

My comments were to lookat ,who was spouting off about people wanting to be at home for their children should get a job

when she herself is a SAHM

HarryHillatemygoldfish · 13/11/2011 21:48

I think you are either having a pop at SAHP's or your not. Either your comments apply to all or none.

usualsuspect · 13/11/2011 21:50

Ok ...

turn it into a sahm v woh if you must

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:51

Agree with Harry.

Usual Are you back tracking my dear? And actually most SAHM's who claim TC's, jobseekers etc should be looking for full time work. being at home is not a given, you need to be able to afford it.

And I also met my DH when quite frankly he didn't have a pot to piss in.

OhDoAdmit · 13/11/2011 21:51

Of course you should claim it. But you do have to claim it.

I cant speak for anyone else but personally I do not see SAHM as less qualified to comment etc.

I do think those that are quick to judge others regarding the size of their incomes and how much they contribute should look at their own circumstances before they spurt uninformed bollocks though. That applies to SAHM, WMs and anyone else.

look is very quick to pass comment. In my case both OH and I work. we both work part time. Him because he is physically unable to work more hours and me because like you fatfleur without me, OH couldnt work at all because I have to support him and take on the stuff couples would usually do together. So we too work as a team albeit in a different way.

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:51

usual It is you who has made out that SAHM do fuck all. Hmm

usualsuspect · 13/11/2011 21:52

Don't start with the my dear bollocks

ReindeerBollocks · 13/11/2011 21:52

SAhM do have a say. However, look has said several derogatory statements about low earners (when she doesn't earn, regardless of what she contributes as a SAHM), she has also criticised those who have disabled children, and those who end up in poor relationships, who then have to become lone parents.

look has yet so show any sympathy for anyone. And the irony is that she hasn't worked as hard as many people on this thread have to for pittance. I work damn hard for a ridiculous £55 per week, and am on call 24/7. Yet apparently I deserve to lose my Carers as I shouldnt have had a disabled child Angry

I can completely understand why she is getting such a hard time, when she has such opinions yet a seemingly charmed life (by her own admission).

SAHMs opinions are relevant, however narrow minded, diablist views will be challenged (or ignored).

Portofino · 13/11/2011 21:53

That's not true though Harry - there is nothing wrong with being a SAHM if your family can support it, and if you have children with additional needs. Otherwise, you should not expect payment from the government to do so outside normal jobseeking rules.

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:53

Ohdoadmit, illness, disability etc is obviously a given.

OhDoAdmit · 13/11/2011 21:53

Nope - this is about people with the attitudes of certain posters regardless of what they wish to call themselves.

ReindeerBollocks · 13/11/2011 21:53
  • has yet to show
usualsuspect · 13/11/2011 21:54

When did I say that?

please find my post that said that?

You know its like talking to the same person on this thread

Funny that

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:54

usual my dear you do digress.

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:55

Sorry usual I am a SAHm and too thick to copy and paste.

usualsuspect · 13/11/2011 21:55

go fuck yourself

littlemisssarcastic · 13/11/2011 21:55
OhDoAdmit · 13/11/2011 21:56

Not it isnt fatfleur that is the point we are trying to get across. These changes will affect everyone.

AFAIK there will be no special dispensations for people in our situation or others described on this thread.

Which is why we are so worried.

Worried enough to up meds and think about giving up altogether. Sentiments I have witnessed being expressed.

People are terrified.

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:56

Loving the way usual is trying to cover the fact she started a SAHM?WOM debate. Look look quick...

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:58

ohidoadmit That is really very sad and I hope that does not happen because they would be so wrong on so many levels. of course i am not talking about people in your situation.

fatfleur · 13/11/2011 21:58

Ditto usual you are a charmer.
