Brilliant plan.

Definitely NBU. Dunno what my husand does with his, but after one night it is RANK.

BertieBotts · 05/11/2011 17:14

How would you read the initial in the dark though? (Or when half asleep)

SardineQueen · 05/11/2011 17:17

YANBU

The things mine does to his make me shudder.

ChooChooWowWow · 05/11/2011 17:20

I know which pillow belongs to my DH by his smell. It's not dirty it's just him. One of my greatest hates is anyone else putting their head on my pillow, or me having to put my head near anyone else's pillow smell.

Just gross.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 05/11/2011 17:23

Bertie - clearly she has to embroider it in French Knots, the better to be able to read it with her fastidious fingertips in the dark!

Yes when I take it out of its pillow protector its like a bloody sepia map of the world

Of course I realise what a hypocrite I am. I kiss him FFS

Reshape I might be able to manage a knobbly running stitch

coccyx · 05/11/2011 17:24

yuk. YANBU.

meglet · 05/11/2011 17:26

yanbu. XP's pillow was stained with fluids. . They were binned when he went.

pengymum · 05/11/2011 17:26

I would chuck the pillow if it is that bad! Can't abide smelly pillows!

Pixel · 05/11/2011 17:27

YANBU as I've already done this (biro mark on the label). I don't want to use dh's horrid sweaty pillow thanks very much!

cyb · 05/11/2011 17:28

pengy tis a new pillow, I have initialled them before, didnt initial this last one and slept very fitfully wondering if it was his or mine

OP posts:
troisgarcons · 05/11/2011 18:14

Ah - I have festher pillows and he like synthetic ones shudder

His is a sodden mess and I know I dont dribble!

spooktrain · 05/11/2011 18:19

leave the smelly bastard

BarkisIsWillin · 05/11/2011 18:24

Do you not have 'his' side of the bed and 'your' side of the bed? We do and I'm careful when changing bedlinen that the pillows don't get mixed up? Plus mine is an expensive memory foam and his isn't.

Pixel · 05/11/2011 18:27

I do that too BarkisIsWillin but I've still marked them because on the extremely rare occasions that dh strips and changes the bed, I know he will just put everything back randomly and then my system will be ruined. Grin

Atwaroverscrabble · 05/11/2011 18:39

Dh often stays in bed after me and uses my pillow! It drives me nuts especially as he picks his nose in bed!

My DH buys himself a new pillow and then beats it to a pulp in his sleep so its in a little sweaty knot and then accuses me of stealing his 'nice' pillow when I change the sheets... so yes I mark the pillows and the case and present him with the evidence. He doesn't believe me though Hmm

BertieBotts · 05/11/2011 18:51

Ah true Bark. Me and DP sleep in shifts since he works nights, which is handy as we're both fairly diagonal sleepers, and end up using every one of the four over the course of the night.

MangoMonster · 05/11/2011 18:51

I've been considering this! :)

pengymum · 05/11/2011 19:39

Assuming you want to be discreet? Use those UV pens that you use for secretly marking valuables - that way he won't realise and you can still id your own ...

or buy diff brands so that you can see at a glance from labels
or better still have sep bedrooms like the victorians ... that's what I would do if we had the space! Grin

susiedaisy · 05/11/2011 19:40

I always wrote our initials on our pillows can't stand using anyone else'sSmile

SaffronCake · 05/11/2011 19:42

Genius!

PigletJohn · 05/11/2011 19:59

an embroidered or lace-trimmed pillowcase will do the trick. You can identify it in the dark

And perhaps a quilted washable pillow cover, inside the pillowcase, to catch the bodily fluids.
