Came round today saying i have two weeks to sort my front and back garden out and tidy it up or else! He knows i have been suffering with severe anxiety after having a bad miscariage last year and being pg again has made me a nervous wreck, the neighbours bloody cat has shit on the gravel in my front garden, wouldnt be so bad but he had the cheek to blame my moggies even thought he knows i keep them inside due to said neighbours cat attacking them everytime they are outside. I am expected to clear up fag butts that people have thrown over my hedge as well. My back garden isnt that bad to be honest it's just a few kids toys a bit of weeding and the grass that needs cutting but it's all stuff that involves heavy lifting or being in contact with soil which could have cat poo in it!! So cheesed off right now so this isn't so much an AIBU but a good old rant. Not expecting sympathy just wanted to get it off my chest!

The best way to stop cats from crapping in your gravel garden is to go to a local asian supermarket and buy a MASSIVE bag of hot chilli powder, then on a dry day sprinkle it generously over and into the gravel. When the cat comes digging the chilli power flies up and makes the cat feel v uncomfortable so it pisses off and learns to crap elsewhere. If you do this a few times they will develop the habit of going elsewhere. Did it with my own cats, no harm done and they go in the feild at the back of the house now.

Then you're going to have to sort your garden out, holden, rather than going on about this HO and having excuses for not doing it.

It doesn't matter about the past, it matters about now.

Telling anyone who perhaps is less well off than yourself that they should be grateful always comes across as patronising, even if its with a link to a website.

GalloweesG · 31/10/2011 20:46

Agree with Onlywantsone. Anyone who has a witty name like HoldenMcGroin knows how to spell Scheme.

OP you can't do that sort of work to a council house, it's not yours to maintain. Best to hope they don't find out, eh? They might make you put it back to the way it was (not sure you can make it all uneven tho)

TheRealTillyMinto · 31/10/2011 20:59

nenevomito i find life better if you realise that while you have some shit in your life, other people have more shit.

& in the case of the OP (if Holden exists) she is not doing that badly.

AbbyAbsinthe · 31/10/2011 21:03

That's a very good point about the name. Fucking hell I'm shit at spotting trolls Hmm

holdenmcgroin1979 · 31/10/2011 21:05

OP you can do whatever you wish to your council house here AS LONG as you have prior written consent to. You have to put in an application form and then wait a week to hear if your allowed to carry out the works once the works are done you then inform the council again and they come and inspect it to make sure it reaches their standards. I even had to put in an application to have laminate floor fitted downstairs. apparantly it's all to do with there buildings insurance.

THEIR insurance

holdenmcgroin1979 · 31/10/2011 21:07

I picked my name for this while watching an episode of friends a year or two ago when joey goes for an audition and needs a new stage name. he came up with holdenmcgroin or chandler might have given him the idea.

OnlyWantsOne · 31/10/2011 21:07

Last post i am going to make. Sad

Thank you to those who offered advice and constructive critisism. I will be trying the salt idea tommorow.

To those who have turned this into a topic as to if i am real maybe if you look back at the other topic i made when i found out i was expecting this time round you would be less judgmental, yes i dont post often but that doesnt mean i am a troll it just means that unless i see a thread i can help with i keep my nose out as my mother always said if you can't say anything nice dont say anything at all.
