Birds made out of newspaper? Why? Just why?

Great if you are 5 years old.... quite sad if you are 35.... Grin

I find her bloody irritating...

valiumredhead · 30/10/2011 17:08

I prefer this series to the last one where she got everyone to do her work for her!

serin · 30/10/2011 17:10

YADNBU.

It's hardly high art is it.

teeschlurfenderdino · 30/10/2011 17:11

Also she seems genuinely surprised and disappointed not to win at these shows, when some of the entrants have obviously spent hours of work on their crafts!

valiumredhead · 30/10/2011 17:12

Th standard of that last show was SO high!

Mardymwahhaha · 30/10/2011 17:12

I have to admit I've not watched more than 5 minutes. I just caught some bird making and cattle grooming. But I would be surprised if she could produce anything I would like to display in my house.

RedHelenB · 30/10/2011 17:13

She's a range of baking stuff to market lol!!!

Mardymwahhaha · 30/10/2011 17:15

I do have very different taste to Kirstie though. Much prefer clean lines, uncluttered, and no crafts.

DH gets very sneery about this. Says he can barely contain himself with the suspense of how her embroidered card will do at the county show.

But he will happily watch bloody time team

I know Homemade Britain is crap but I like watching it because I like to pretend I might make jam at some point. It gives me a warm glow :)

Mardymwahhaha · 30/10/2011 17:39

catgirl I don't watch TimeTeam, but I could see how somebody would as it's about finding out new things about history. As far as I can see, Kirstie is all about people making shit things that nobody in their right minds would want.

Ha ha! Just looked at 4OD. She is making gelatine daffodils. Just why?

OP posts:
Mardymwahhaha · 30/10/2011 17:57

And it's not waterproof, so she can't wear it outside. So not only undesirable, but also impractical.

I did used to love Kirstie in Location/Relocation, although I'm getting past caring about it now.

You'd think so mardy but as far as i can tell they dig up some old buttons every week which might or mibght not be of historical importance and then they speculate for ages about said buttons. Drives me mad.

DH says he used to fancy her but she crossed a line with that decoupage and now its all over.

fedupofnamechanging · 30/10/2011 18:10

Hmm, gelatine daffodils in Wales, where it rains a lot.

Cannot understand why people make jam, when you can buy it so cheaply. She ought to show us how to make our own vodka or something.

warmandwooly · 30/10/2011 18:10

She has her own range of stuff at M and S! I don't mind her prog to be honest. I would like to think "oh i could do that" however I am way too cack handed and impatient to do it.

Mardymwahhaha · 30/10/2011 18:11

Fair point about Time Team catgirl. I've never watched more than 5 mins of it, but that hasn't sold it to me.

I don't like jam though. Horrible sticky stuff.

NettoSpookerstar · 30/10/2011 18:11

It's worth it just to see Harry Hill taking the piss out of it.

Mardymwahhaha · 30/10/2011 18:13

Now there's an idea karma - I could happily make homemade alcohol an get rip-roaringly pissed with Kirstie.

I quite like it, dd and I watch it together as we are both crafty types.

DrinkYourWeakLemonDrinkNow · 30/10/2011 18:22

Yanbu. Head girl in charge of the glue.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 30/10/2011 18:22

Someone just gave me the book, because I am another person who likes to pretend about the jam (expect my pretend jam is a pretend patchwork quilt).

It makes for quite depressing reading, even though I liked her other one, about how to con people into making free stuff for your holiday home and getting channel four to film those people as a ten part advert for that holiday home so you can rent it out.

On the bright side, I bet we could have quite an epic AIBU bunfight (scone fight?) if we took her comments about the best way to put jam and cream on a scone and asked for opinions. I think she claims that in Devon it is cream and then jam, while in Cornwall it is jam and then cream. It's the sort of discussion that can get people really riled up.

moonstorm · 30/10/2011 18:38

When is it on and what time? I love it in a cosy-up sort of way, but in many ways YANBU Grin
