when she was born it was unusual and didn't feature in any top 100 names.

In the last week alone, I have met 3 babies that will be called this name. There will be hundreds of them all over the place. My child will no longer stand out and be unusual and unique.

Obviously there is bugger all I can do about this. It is still a nice name and I generally approve of people using it but it is turning into something a bit common.

Tbh, when i chose my DD's name i didn't know that the Queens granddaughter shared the name and now because of the royal wedding (big giveaway), i fear that we will be over run with what once was her fairly uncommon name.

Is this your DD's name, OP?

If you give your child an unusual name, and then it becomes very popular a few years later, by the time he or she is an adult, everyone will tend to assume they are younger than they really are. Could be quite nice.
