DH reckons DS (just turned 2) is going to be some sort of engineer/maths genius because he's so good at creating intricate tracks Hmm :o

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 12:57

I can't help thinking this man is scratching his head too at how and why nearly 1500 people have viewed the item Wink

WhereYouLeftIt · 19/10/2011 15:12

Well the two MNers who've contacted him already should be a bit of a clue ...

bruffin · 19/10/2011 19:25

He has altered it again - now big red writing that you are buying a picture.

Bohica · 19/10/2011 20:19

I messaged him last night with "So your just selling a photocopy and not the actual playhouse set"

His reply today is "I am selling a photocopy, good luck if you bid :)"

I have sent back "Why collection only then? Do you know how strange that makes you sound?"

Very odd.

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 21:23

Hmm this is really really odd. Thanks bohica .

I wonder if he accepts returns - If I were more feisty I would bid, collect it from him and then return it to see his face and see if I could work out just what this is all about . There must be a reason behind it - he's changed the listing now but why sell it in the first place is what I want to know

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 19/10/2011 21:28

It's a black and white photo. Black and white! Sheesh!

And you have to collect in person. If I lived near Orpington, I might bid...just so I could go round and -freak him and his wife out-- see what kind of person does this.

HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 21:29

He didn't reply to me Envy

HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 21:31

Shall we all start a bidding war for this item or would that be too evil Blush

Bohica · 19/10/2011 21:47

I've had another reply to my are you as weird as you are coming across message.

"Yes, I am. I haven't had so much fun for years. I don't really want to sell it! I have grown attached to the picture!"

I'm now going to ask him if he will deliver it for me for cash.

I'm up for a bidiing war

LynetteScavo · 19/10/2011 21:48

On his listing for the boat is his phone number, if anyone wants to call him to ask specific questions....about what kind of paper it will be printed on, etc.

HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 21:49

Why hasn't he replied to ME!! Angry

Ok so we need more MN'ers to begin this bidding war

HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 21:50

Oh love it lynette!! But I so haven't the balls for that! Envy

HauntyMython · 19/10/2011 21:50

I went to school/college in Orpington. They're all weirdos round there :o

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 21:55

Hahaha. LOVE the idea of a big bidding war but leave me out of it - it'll end out being dopey old me that wins it and has to fork out for it and I'm not giving this nutter my money. I do live near orpington though, maybe if a mner won it I should collect it for them

He really is odd though isnt' he? Surely if there was a decent reason for putting it on ebay (ie promised it to a friend originally etc) he would have said so?

OP posts:
ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 21:56

xposted. haunty my dh comes from orpington Hmm and thinking on it he is odd

OP posts:
HauntyMython · 19/10/2011 21:58

I'm actually from Bromley originally which is only marginally better

What I don't understand is, if he edited it to either scare his kids or because he's sold it elsewhere, why does he not just put a tiny note at the end of the description to explain? Or would he get a wrist slap from eBay?

justonemorethread · 19/10/2011 21:59

Surely these people should be reported to ebay for misleading? Someone might end up paying way over the odds for a picture.... Not an ebay user myself but still - I think it's really dishonest. But probably nothing ebay can do about it.

Bohica · 19/10/2011 22:00

I'm also a wimp. I'd text him but it really isn't any different to email is it?

This is what I have sent back:

"What ream of paper is the photocopy printed on please? Also, are you willing to deliver locally?

Did you know your listing has hit a well known forum and all sorts of plans are being hatched to find out if you are just plain boring with too much time on your hands whilst you wait to emigrate or a local peado trying to coax lone mothers with their expectant children into your home"

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 22:04

Shock oh bohica excellent work . I shall be waiting on a response. That is, if he does respond. I hope he doesn't somehow find the thread and hunt me down for starting it waving his expensive photocopy at me

OP posts:
HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 22:05

Wonder if he replies!

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 22:06

hairy I wonder why he didn't respond to you Hmm

OP posts:
HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 22:09

Still no response. I don't feel unloved or ignored, honest G'ov Envy

Bohica · 19/10/2011 22:17

Hairy very strange because i got the impression that he was living off his listing! ie "Haven't had so much fun in years"

I hope no one bids thinking they are bidding on a garden house set, I'm so tempted to bid 1 million for his yaught and then retract it after 24 hours.....
