Weird

Bohica · 18/10/2011 21:40

I don't understand how someone who has a moosive boat and a shit train table to sell would need to scam someone over a playhouse garden set.

Has anyone messaged the seller to see wtf is going on?

squeakyfreakytoy · 18/10/2011 21:41

I would say it is a genuine error. He has perfect feedback as a seller.

ReastieHorrorShow · 18/10/2011 21:48

haunty yeah, such a great photographer - I'm sure his shadow is a purposeful artistic touch Wink

I'm not really sure how you could genuinely make that mistake Hmm . Tis most intriguing.

bohica I know - it's mad the items they have for sale just don't make sense. If anyone contacts them please let me know what they say.

Part of me wants to bid just so I can go to his/her house to collect the photocopy and see what they're like Hmm

does anyone know how to report to ebay? I can't find how

OP posts:
Tequilamockinbat · 18/10/2011 21:56

Pick up only too? Hmm

'cos photocopies are heavy obviously Grin

MrsPresley · 18/10/2011 21:56

Is it possible they have sold the items elsewhere and cant cancel the listing, so they have put it a photocopy so people wont bid?

Is it easy to cancel a listing? or does it have to run to the end date?

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 18/10/2011 21:59

You can cancel a listing, and even if you couldn't, I fail to see how this would help

piprabbit · 18/10/2011 21:59

There should be a 'report to ebay' in the listing - somewhere on the right at the top of the main description I think.

Cancelling a listing is easy if nobody has bid on it.

I'm starting to think (as was suggested earlier on the thread) that the account might be hacked as it is very different in style from his other listings.

ReastieHorrorShow · 18/10/2011 22:01

bet they are wondering how and why there are over 400 views for the item Wink

WillowFae · 18/10/2011 22:05

Reminds me of all the Xbox scams that were out there when the 360 first came out. People were bidding hundreds on an Xbox box. Just the empty box.

breatheslowly · 18/10/2011 22:07

Maybe it is a way of avoiding fees on an item which will end up being pick up only. So local people look at the items and contact the seller to see if they want to sell them privately.

MirandaGoshawk · 18/10/2011 22:17

There's a phone number for enquiries about the boat (look under the 'seller's other items' bit). It says they're emigrating at Christmas.

So, who's going to phone them and ask them about the photocopy? Grin

CocktailQueen · 18/10/2011 22:35

I've reported the photo listing [hwink]

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 06:38

KittyFane · 19/10/2011 06:54

It's too specific to be a mistake - Richard 66 - a chancer?
I hope people see this item before bidding on his other items.

HauntyMython · 19/10/2011 06:54

I don't understand why people do those scams though, especially when they have otherwise good feedback - even though the buyer who falls for it knows they can't get a refund, surely they'd leave scathing feedback and report to ebay about the seller's manipulative tactics?

HauntyMython · 19/10/2011 07:00

I'm watching all 3 items now.

He may have great feedback but that does not mean he has great seller feedback! When I searched under his seller name and chose 'sold items only', nothing came up - and only one unsold ended item - so presumably his previous feedback is for buying?

LoveBeingAWitch · 19/10/2011 07:07

Also the photocopy is listed as used, it's not even new Grin

How starnge!

ReastieHorrorShow · 19/10/2011 07:23

Just the more I look at his other items the more I look Confused . It's so random. I can't work out why he's doing it. Like someone said, assuming it's a scam why doesn't he do it on a more high value item and random given his other 2 items look legit.

OP posts:
bruffin · 19/10/2011 07:26

There was a case on but wasn't quite so obvious as this.

HairyBeaver · 19/10/2011 08:02

I've asked the seller, just waiting for a reply [hwink]
