OP posts:
thunderboltsandlightning · 15/10/2011 13:01

OK the women who post on here if you want to split hairs. She's including you in her insults you know, working.

The is more entertaining anyway.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 15/10/2011 13:09

Some people take themselves very seriously, don't they.

Whatmeworry · 15/10/2011 13:18

Some people take themselves very seriously, don't they

I'll say!

And how anyone can think that missed the mark when there is a thread on right now moaning about workmen who poo in your toilet.....

Precious, moi?

diddl · 15/10/2011 13:20

Yup- I assume that a lot of AIBU threads are tongue in cheek-but even so-some are just waiting to have the shit ripped out of them.

justonemorethread · 15/10/2011 13:31

Hullygully - 'I think it's strange to accuse those who don't find it funny of not having a sense of humour or being up themselves.

No one who doesn't find it funny is accusing those who do of being a bit thick and undemanding, are they'

But that is exactly how some of us are made to feel, looking like there other edgier, sharper, more intellectual mnetters than us and we're just a complacent boden-wearing mob.

You know what - don't let an outsider break us up, come one, where is the sisterly-hood! (Oh, right, sorry, we're on mumsnet).

justonemorethread · 15/10/2011 13:31

I meant come on, not come one!

septembergirl17 · 15/10/2011 13:31

very funny !!!

GreenEyesandNiceHam · 15/10/2011 13:37

I've read loads of 'Favourite Comedian'etc type threads on here before which haven't become personal.

How come on this one, anyone who doesn't find this one hilarious must have a stick up their arse?

DrNortherner · 15/10/2011 13:37

HILARIOUS! I loved it Smile

fit2drop · 15/10/2011 13:40

haven't even looked at the link yet but I am pmsl at some of the remarks , The irony of diddl at 13:20 post following whatmeworry is just brilliant timing.
For those being so po faced about it, then don't feed the comedian and bugger off the thread .

Now I am going to look at the link .Grin
fingers crossed I don't have to ask for this post to be deleted to stop me looking like a bigger twat than I am [hwink]

Hullygully · 15/10/2011 13:40

justone -

(you're not justabout are you btw?)

I can't believe I'm still talking about this but still...

People who don't like it have said so, calmly, and given their reasons. They haven't added on slurs about those who do.

People who like it have said so, sometimes said why, and then tacked on the Oooo you've got no sense of humour, you take yourself too seriously etc etc.

Nope. Just don't find it funny.

Just pointing out the difference. If those that like it are confident in their liking, why justify it in the light of others having no humour etc?

PeachesMelba · 15/10/2011 13:41

Love it!!!

Truth hurts, eh ladies?!

Bledkr · 15/10/2011 13:41

Im not sure you have actually logged onto mn op.It is largely not rich middle class Mums but down to earth ordinary people-i think anyway.I think you maybe confused with the netmums hon.

HTH

exoticfruits · 15/10/2011 13:50

I am sure that she has logged on Bledkr-it may be full of down to earth people, but it certainly has plenty of competitive mummies and those who make parenting into a career and 'wear their babies' and whatever is 'in'at the moment.
When you have threads taking exception to workmen 'pooing in their toilet' I think that you have a rich vein of humour for anyone who wants it!

justonemorethread · 15/10/2011 13:52

hugs all round. I'm getting a bit bored of this
Hullygully - I'm not a veteran mumsnetter, just joined recently (I was called solittletime for a bit but didn't like it. This ones not great either. Not very imaginative with nicknames!)

I think we're wasting a lot of words on something not really that revealing, important, funny, misogynistic or any of those things. Just middle of the road stuff... So, as Hilary Devey would say - I'm out!

justonemorethread · 15/10/2011 13:53

By the way how did Orla Kiely get by-passed over Boden?

thunderboltsandlightning · 15/10/2011 13:58

She called Mumsnetters, or if you want to be extremely picky people who post on Mumsnet, bitches. Do those of you who think this is funny really not mind that? Or do you think it's only the other bitches over there she's talking about?

If she'd written it out as a post in AIBU she'd have got torn apart. The only thing I can think is that because this is a recording and she's been on the telly before that people are assuming it must be funny.

MarianneM · 15/10/2011 14:07

I didn't think it was that funny, or that accurate a parody of AIBU posts. Now if she'd mentioned

Inlaws
P&C parking spaces
BF/FF
Accessible toilets
Toddlers in buggies
Buggies in public transport

THEN she would have been on to something!

bringbacksideburns · 15/10/2011 14:11

It made me laugh.

Then i scrolled down a few pages and read condescending and uptight comments like "I think you have potential though, if you do your research properly in future",comedy critiques from 'experts' and grammatical pedantry and that made me laugh even more.

NeumsyPeddie · 15/10/2011 15:25

Well, if that means me, I've probably got a helluva lot more experience than you do, considering I watch comedians for a living, and my husband has been one for 25 years. She asked, I told.

"Everyone thinks their opinion matters. Don't argue with a nobody. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like shit."

Love it!!!

Truth hurts, eh ladies?!
_

You what?

anyone who says 'ladies' in such a condescending manner is either a bloke or a misogynist, or perhaps both.

Say no more

also - why do those of you who seem to despise this place actually hang around here? Just to laugh at how crap we all are? Bunch of eejits

destinationzero · 15/10/2011 16:23

It was funny but not that funny, but a fairly accurate assessment of the AIBU boards from what I've seen.

AIBU is the funniest section on MN so it was obvious she would use that board to take the piss. If you look closely at MN it is sadly full of women struggling with MH issues, the feminist section is too dark and serious, again full of women whose lives seem ruined by their hatred of the 'patriarchy', so she couldn;t use material from that section as suggested up the thread.

As others have said, I don't understand the loyalty to an internet forum that a few show, does it matter if a comedian takes the piss out of women on Mumsnet? If you are offended I honestly feel sorry for you, most of us use Mumsnet to kill a few hours when we're bored, nothing more.

Get a Life Grin OR your head out of HQ's arse.

JaneBirkin · 15/10/2011 16:30

Oh fark off.

FlossieFromCrapstonVillas · 15/10/2011 16:51

Feathers ruffled all over the joint, then.

Meanwhile, we've all now heard of Mary Bourke. That's a good day's publicity whichever way you look at it!

noddyholder · 15/10/2011 16:53

Agree with destination zero the offended few are funnier than the comedienne!
