So, Sunday lunch at a friend's yesterday. A couple that we know slightly are also invited. The woman who is very bright and very pleasant for the first hour, drinks so much that she is literally unable to speak (but doesn't stop trying), and we all carry on with lunch pretending that everything is normal and not laughing where she can see.

Is this normal? In any way?

vampires you are a hero. I could NOT do that Grin

VampiresWearBlackVelvet · 10/10/2011 13:18

I spat!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/10/2011 13:18

Why skirt round the issue? Next time you see her just say "fuck me you were arseholed last Sunday! Bet you woke up with a head on you the next morning"

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/10/2011 13:19

Good lord, is it 'have a go at Hully' day today or something? I obviously didn't get that memo.

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 13:19

No, I'm just going to avoid them - so much easier..

"You must have spent too many nights on the drunk threads on here, youve lost all sense of perspective."

That is out of order.

Why is it that so many posters don't just disagree or offer another perspective, they have to be downright rude about it?

VampiresWearBlackVelvet · 10/10/2011 13:20

Ssshhh Grin

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 13:20

It's fun BIWI, innit?

I dunno what I did...I upset someone somewhere on the worldwideinterwebnet

BupcakesandHaunting · 10/10/2011 13:21

Ingroup? Drunk threads? Nope, don't think so. (Not me, anyway)

I just don't think that hand-wringing and advising on AA to a probably embarrassed partner is the way to go, either. It's patronising and interfering.

Thanks, cheekeymonkey :)

It's strange here today.

There is a thread where someone has asked if we could have a 'like' button (go and read it, Justine is considering having it as an customisable extra) - I am temped to post can we have a hate button, and a fuck off poster button.

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 13:22

clarence you are being rude.

VampiresWearBlackVelvet · 10/10/2011 13:23
Shock
Hullygully · 10/10/2011 13:23

Yes, there is that Clarence. It's a shame that I am just a lowly King Edward. and can't aspire to the giddy heights of your witty insults.

OP posts:
ClarenceDarrow · 10/10/2011 13:23

How about a bite me button?

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/10/2011 13:24

Clarence - what on earth is your problem? Why do you have to be so rude? Can you not express your views without resorting to childish name-calling?

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 13:24

It doesn't matter if Clarence is rude. I am just a potato. Or is she being potatoist?

OP posts:
Growlithe · 10/10/2011 13:24

I'm new to MN and a bit of a lurker, but i've got to say some people on this thread must have got their judgy pants on inside out and back to front because they are being so judgemental of the OP in their hurry not to be judgemental about the tiddly lady!

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 13:24

Depends on whether hully is a Waitrose potato in goose fat, or an Aunt Betty's oven ready roaster.

BupcakesandHaunting · 10/10/2011 13:25

A potato, Hully! A WHOLE POTATO!

You'd better be organic or I'll fuckin' mash yer.

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 13:25

Bite me? has anyone actually said that since Monica in Friends circa 1996?

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 13:25

I'm goign to start my posts from now on, Speaking as a potato...

Wassup Clarence? Why are you so cross?

OP posts:
TheRhubarb · 10/10/2011 13:25

I don't think Clarence, that you will win this one. Trying to bully your way onto a thread isn't good form. All you do is to make yourself look like a tit - without the benefit of drink.

GetOrfMo1Land · 10/10/2011 13:25

I always though hully had a chip on her shoulder.

Hullygully · 10/10/2011 13:26

I'm just half-baked
