Wtaf are you only a good role model to your DC if you are in paid employment?
Why does someone only be valid in society if they earn?
Why should I work only to pay someone else do a job to look after my DC? wtaf is the logic in that?

I still find it a bit creepy yellow though I can see you don't mean it be.

To be honest, I was more commenting on those that not only choose to look up posters but then try to use personal information against them. It's wrong on so many levels of decency.

Yellowstone · 28/09/2011 11:51

OK word but you were once moved to work out where my kids went to school .... same deal, curiosity.

laptoplover · 28/09/2011 11:51

I was just expecting to of recognized her name as so many MN people hold her up there next to God.

wordfactory · 28/09/2011 11:55

yellow I have only ever read your posts on MN. That is where I get my information about you from. There and only there. I have no idea who you are, where you live etc. I know only what you have chosen to divulge here.

I expect the same.

GetOrfMo1Land · 28/09/2011 11:55

How very odd.

Yes pull Xenia up on what she posts (and despite admiring her sentiment of being financially independent, some of what she posts is offensive tripe), but don't read about her in RL and make some crack about her 'boring life'.

There is no need for that.

Yellowstone · 28/09/2011 11:58

Agree word, even sharing specific info would be bang out of order, even if it was used positively not negatively.

laptoplover · 28/09/2011 12:00

Sorry I disagree if you choose to live in the public eye....expect anything nobody says anything like this when talking about people on x factor or film stars or anybody else in the public eye.

Yellowstone · 28/09/2011 12:01

I've never named school names word, nor would I. Anyhow, you never named it either, so it's fine.

GetOrfMo1Land · 28/09/2011 12:02

Well she isn't in the public eye in that sense, is she.

She hasn't appeared on a famous lawyer reality show (god can you imagine how awful that would be). Xenia isn't the same level as Jordan. She is renowned in her field, maybe, but not famous or a celebrity per se.

wordfactory · 28/09/2011 12:03

I'll aceept of course that I'm probably over sensitive because I've been on the receiving end of this and it made me very uncomfortable.

The touble is that in RL some of us have to do a fair bit of publicity work as part of what we do for a living. That's life. Most of it is carefully managed but still...these days everything is googleable.

Then one comes here and doesn't necessarily want the two to collide. Here, one can be much more free which is nice.

Yellowstone · 28/09/2011 12:07

I'm much more impressed by Xenia having seen who she is; she lets herself down on MN.

wordfactory · 28/09/2011 12:07

One article in the Daily Fail does not make Xenia a sleb FFS.

If that were the case then we'd all be entitled to know what position Riven prefers.

ThePosieParker · 28/09/2011 12:09

EVERYONE deserves anonymity on mumsnet.

scottishmummy · 28/09/2011 12:10

xenia makes some valid points though esp financial.and yes i think it is risky to be wholly financially dependent upon a partner and not work.

i do think her delivery and quips are def tongue in cheek

Kewcumber · 28/09/2011 12:11

dear lord I posted on this thread early on and now I'm stuff with this pile of bile pouring out onto my screen.

If I hide thread, does it hide it from my active convos these days or am I stuck with it?

GetOrfMo1Land · 28/09/2011 12:12

I agree with Posie - nobody deserves to be outed on mumsnet.

Georgimama · 28/09/2011 12:15

It goe sfrom both Kew (good idea am doing the same)

Kewcumber · 28/09/2011 12:17

Great I guess they changed it at some point, thanks GM

laptoplover · 28/09/2011 12:45

She could of kept her identity secret if she did not say the things she said.

lawyer
high profile divorce
island
5 kids.

wordfactory · 28/09/2011 12:48

laptop are you being deliberately nasty or are you just as thick as pig shit?

ThePosieParker · 28/09/2011 13:02

laptop.....I know who Xenia is, however I would only ever say stuff that she has revealed on here. But it's a little shitty to out her on here, even if she practically does it herself.

I may be an arsehole, but I'm a Mumsnet arsehole.....not necessarily one in RL!!

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 28/09/2011 13:07

xenia
So you think that it's only the unintelligent women who chose give up work for a while to raise their children?!

I have a friend, lets call her Betty. Betty is one of the most intelligent people I know, she has a degree in an expertise area of medicine and worked in that area successfully for years before chosing to change direction completely and do a degree in something economics related, and worked all over the world doing that. Then she had children.

She made the choice to stop working for a few years because she is intelligent enough to know that it was best for her and her children. She would never for a minute think that was better for anyone else as she's intelligent enough to realise that everyone is different. I think that gives her a sort of all round intelligence. Unlike you who are (i've heard) great at your job but thinks one glove fits all. Your intelligence is one dimensional and doesn't extend past your job.

laptoplover · 28/09/2011 13:27

laptop are you being deliberately nasty or are you just as thick as pig shit?

The latter XENIA WOULD SAY BECAUSE i DON'T HAVE A HIGH FLYING CAREER AND LOOK AFTER MY CHILD.........ALL BY MYSELF WITH OH HELPING A LOT.

Sorry for caps I was not shouting I was actually laughing as I typed.

SexualHarrassmentPandaPop · 28/09/2011 14:29

So she is being 'tongue in cheek' when she says say that kids with sn have low IQ's and are dull conversationalists? Could someone explain that joke to me because i don't find it particularly funny.

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 28/09/2011 14:53

Who said that Sexual?!
