To think it's weird that Victoria Beckham has taken her baby (insanely expensive) clothes shopping 3 days in a row in sky high heels followed by paparazzi

Ok I admit I saw these pics in the daily hate mail but come on, why would you wear these mountanous heels tottering around with your tiny baby in Prada/whatever 3 days in a row... dons hard hat........

OP posts:
fatlazymummy · 17/09/2011 14:03

I don't think it's wierd at all. Some people like to get back in the swing of things as soon as possible. I went out shopping a lot when my babies were little, it was boring staying indoors. I didn't wear high heels or carry the baby because that's not my style but it is some peoples.

FabbyChic · 17/09/2011 14:05

She always looks so miserable, really don't like her at all. David is however personable, friendly. VB is just well horrible.

aldiwhore · 17/09/2011 14:18

What she does is her choice, but I think she's putting herself under a massive amount of pressure (physically and emotionally) and yes, I've seen some pics and thought 'loon'... my main concern is her back tbh, but she can afford physio!!

I don't give her much more than a passing thought, and that is one of admiration for her determination and worry that she's a little over obsessive. Other than that, live and let live I guess. I have no concerns over her ability as a mum or her children's well being, and I'm sure that Mr Beckham probably has the same concerns (but hopefully he cares more than me!) over HER wellbeing.

We all do things differently, I was a veritable sow for 2 weeks after the birth of my boys, laid on my side, not going out. I'm open to critism, but its no one else's business and there's no need to slate people.

capricorn76 · 17/09/2011 14:18

Don't know how true this is but I was told that she wasn't wearing heels because of a bad back but because she had a tummy tuck after the birth and needed to wear flats during the recovery.

PureBloodMuggle · 17/09/2011 14:28

Don't think it's possible to have a tummy tuck just after giving birth

Womb has to contract first, which is about a week or a bit less I think. Couldn't imagine have more surgery just after have a c-section though!! Ouch

nickschick · 17/09/2011 15:28

I think its not a tummy tuck as such just a snip and cut of the 'overhang' - least thats what a obs. told me.

Pawsnclaws · 17/09/2011 15:43

Is that really possible? Surely all the fluid and stretching would have distorted the skin temporarily so the result would look really dodgy? Plus she's had 4 caesareans hasn't she, so wouldn't there be a concern already the scar could be weaker?

I can see how it might be tempting to get some fat sliced out at the same time for us mere mortals, but I very much doubt Posh has much abdominal fat to take out?! It just isn't something I can see a reputable surgeon doing.

A1980 · 17/09/2011 16:44

I think the heels are dangerous. I would struggle to walk in those without carrying something that weighs about 10lbs or more.

If she trips or falls, that baby's dead from a head injury. Hope realises that.

EggInABap · 17/09/2011 16:49

Yes that's right public. Much better to carry a baby through a scrum of photographers pushing and shoving and baby getting potentially pushed/dropped! PRAT.

PublicHair · 17/09/2011 17:14

who the fuck are you calling a prat you absolute weirdo Shock

if she's got hold of it (and is flanked by security for the few steps from car to shop) then it's safer imo.

4madboys · 17/09/2011 17:28

yes i very much doubt that any paparazzi would be able to get close enough to her to knock her and make her drop the baby, i would also hope that they would have the bloody common sense to not be so stupid!

as i said on p3? she is a woman who has had a baby and is doing what she did before she had the baby, getting on with her life, its just that hers is a 'different' life to that of most people.

i seem to recall she was similar with her boys and carried her, i also notice that DB has been seen out carrying the baby as well, but he doesnt get slated in the same way Hmm

MilaMae · 17/09/2011 18:07

Sorry I think she's pimping her baby.

It's fashion week, she's got her label to sell, she knows the world and his wife want baby pics so she goes out 'shopping' every day with a new baby dressed in heels and a range of clothes from her label-nice.Hmm

MilaMae · 17/09/2011 18:16

Oh and as somebody who fell down the stairs in bare feet holding a baby that age (and thankfully only broke 2 toes)I think she's barking mad however much exposure her label gets from it.

FreudianSlipper · 17/09/2011 18:45

she is always fully made up, hair perfect of course the pictures are staged, they tip the press off this is how they stay in the limelight

if they wanted they could quite happily avoid the press much of the time but that is there life everything about them has been sold to the public. when i worked in harrods princess di walked around and no one would notice and no one is more recognisable than she was

nickschick · 17/09/2011 18:49

Really Freudian - did you see her a lot ? was she as lovely as they say?

ruletheworld · 17/09/2011 18:54

I got tutted at for walking around the shopping centre in flat shoes with my DD2 on my shoulder like that when she was a newborn!

A mother's place is in the wrong!

I think VB is a twat generally though, and the shoes do nothing to make me reassess that opinion.

wildhairrunning · 17/09/2011 19:13

There was news that VB twittered that baby Harper loved shopping in Prada and felt right at home Hmm

If that is true then what a pathetically stupid and shallow thing to say and what a stupid way of life to teach her child

breadandbutterfly · 17/09/2011 21:10

Sorry, the shoes are too dangerous. My dh dropped dc1 when she was a few months' old (tripped over a rock, despite v sensible shoes). dc was fine but it was v v stressful and we were lucky - no way I would ever have worn such lunatic footwear when carrying something as precious as my newborn child.

I think that is inexcusable.

What dress she wears, where she goes - who cares. Her business.

But the shoes (esp with no sling/pram). No. Not on.

smartyparts · 17/09/2011 21:15

She's getting on my nerves now. I suspect it's all about the publicity/photo opportunities with her.

She's starting to look ludicrous tottering around on her vertiginous heels, baby clutched to her chest.

And - cat dress is hideous, it reminds me of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=princess+diana+sheep+jumper&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbm=isch&tbnid=Rp_NT3-hRLGxwM:&imgrefurl=noontonandcocobean.blogspot.com/2010/08/princess-dianaknitting-and-shopping-in.html&docid=UFdy9FdiLNhYGM&w=375&h=602&ei=l_90Tvu2AsKw8gOhudSZAQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=166&vpy=107&dur=1112&hovh=285&hovw=177&tx=113&ty=167&page=1&tbnh=141&tbnw=98&start=0&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&biw=1267&bih=617" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

FreudianSlipper · 17/09/2011 21:16

i had to have her pointed out to me by a friend that always served her. yes she was and i was totally starstruck, she didn't have obvious security around her but they were about. she didn't create a fuss kept her head down so no one noticed her becasue she did not want to be noticed

wildhairrunning · 17/09/2011 21:57

Freudian - wow you met princess Diana! Now she was a true star... The world lost someone special when she died - she seemed so amazing

signothetimes · 17/09/2011 22:05

Sorry I think she's pimping her baby.

It's fashion week, she's got her label to sell, she knows the world and his wife want baby pics so she goes out 'shopping' every day with a new baby dressed in heels and a range of clothes from her label-nice.

Agreed.

FreudianSlipper · 17/09/2011 22:18

i didn't meet her as such but stood very close and tried to act normal and not stare

i think when you walk past someone very recognisable unless you are looking right at them or for them you do not notice them unless they are doing something that makes them noticeable i.e., surrounded by security or have an entourage. i stood right next to the counter waiting for my friend while she served bruce willis and demi moore and helped serve jerry hall and was totally oblivious to who they were

nickschick · 17/09/2011 22:30

ohh freudian i thought you might tell me more Sad.

I think she must have been lovely,I hadnt thought that she would just pop out to the shops in a 'normal' way was Mohammed Al Fayed nice to work for?? he wrote a letter to me ya know Wink.

YouWinOrYouDie · 17/09/2011 22:54

Another thing to consider: when VB's first child was a baby he was apparently the centre of many kidnap plots with info being fed to one from within the family via the security man when the Beckhams were very young and very unprepared for this sort of thing.

How true this is I don't know but I read VB's book somewhere once and she described looking at her sleeping baby son and wondering if she would ever see him again after that night. The family had to relocate to where the England team were holed-up before the game in 2002 where security was such that no fucker was going to get in or out unnoticed.

Terrifying having to live that sort of life. So on one hand - great, go out and show off your beautiful new baby. But personally I'd be using my money to ensure that my family had NO publicity at all. Same as if I won the lottery. Fame
