To think it's weird that Victoria Beckham has taken her baby (insanely expensive) clothes shopping 3 days in a row in sky high heels followed by paparazzi

Ok I admit I saw these pics in the daily hate mail but come on, why would you wear these mountanous heels tottering around with your tiny baby in Prada/whatever 3 days in a row... dons hard hat........

Does he? Am unaware of it so therefore he must be less in my face than the Beckhams.

PublicHair · 16/09/2011 23:55

oh leave her the fuck alone to enjoy the baby.
why do some people have to suck the joy out of everything.

YouWinOrYouDie · 17/09/2011 00:04

Johnny Drop and Vanessa are rarely in the papers despite all the great things they do but then they don't need to be. They are not a brand which they need to promote.

YouWinOrYouDie · 17/09/2011 00:06

That would be J DEPP. Strange that my phone didn't have that saved!

MelinaM · 17/09/2011 00:12

They could quite easily live an anonymous life if they so wished, by relocating to France, the French have seriously strict privacy laws! ...you rarely see Johnny Depp's children in the media do you?!!

Great x-post about Johnny Drop Grin

PublicHair · 17/09/2011 00:24

erm, i read a 2 page spread on them (iJohnny and Vanessa) inc photos of her shoving socks down her swimming costume last week and pulling them out for his viewing pleasure.

my cousin (and her husband) are 'off the telly' they've never courted any publicity but can't go on holiday\take their kids out without people following them with cameras (the general public, not papps although that has happened in the past too)
imagine being VB and DB and wanting to do something quietly, you just 'can't' they are both 'global megastars' if people on coronation st get papped filling up their cars imagine how shit it must be to have that level of interest in everything you do.

signothetimes · 17/09/2011 00:27

I find the whole thing uncomfortable. Not taking anything away from a mum enjoying her new baby at all. But to take her shopping to be exposed like this (no doubt tipping off the paps), in order to raise the profile of her clothing range, just doesn't sit well. The photos of the baby look like she's being photographed with lots of flashes going off - it might be day light but some still have flashes go off. No baby should have to go through that kind of exposure. She doesn't have to take her baby shopping, but it serves a purpose - exposure for her clothing range as she's been wearing a different dress each day. She would still have been photographed without the baby, so why put her through the 'scrum' that she would have to go through? I really don't understand that. My instinct, if I had to endure the kind of attention VB gets, would be to protect my baby from that kind of experience, keep her well away from the madness. That's why I don't get her, don't understand why she would 'use' her child in such a commercial, desperate-for-attention publicity stunt. I 'get' that NY fashion week is all about getting attention, but to use your own baby to get an edge on others? Not impressed at all.

babynamesgrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 17/09/2011 01:17

Sorry I don't buy that, think of every star from say, 1982. Do the paps still follow Tiffany? Course not, fame is fickle. You have to make an effort to keep in the papers which is why people stil throw away all their dignity to go on Survivor Big Brother.

If Victoria and David Beckham just got a big house in California and never did another spread, fashion shoot, commercial after about a year no one would care..

epeems · 17/09/2011 01:26

Johnny Depp is actually famous for something. He isn't therefore dependent for his livelihood on being papped. VB is famous for being famous, she is dependent on being papped.

GetAwayFromHerYouBitch · 17/09/2011 05:47

Agree it's about the brand. And the brand includes being great parents

GetAwayFromHerYouBitch · 17/09/2011 05:48

"great parents" I mean. Which is not to say they aren't good parents. But they have to be conspicuous in their parenting

wildhairrunning · 17/09/2011 06:31

Is she still bf? I am curious!

Actually her eldest boy looks like DB and her youngest two like her, there's nothing weird about that is there?! I'm not a fan of hers really but to imply there is anything weird about their parentage is silly

The high heels when carrying a baby are a bit too much in my eyes but she does look good although a bit too skinny

PublicHair · 17/09/2011 06:52

vb was in biggest girl band ever (diana ross is still famous isn't she)
david beckham is ex england captain, played for 2 of the biggest clubs in the world.
i don't recall seeing a recent (and by that i mean 'in the last 10 years') photo spread in ok\hello. might be wrong though Smile

this vitriol strikes me as jealousy and pure envy.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 17/09/2011 07:15

Last I read, VB had a slipped disc exascerbated by pregnancy and could only hobble around in flats - as proved by recent pix.

Can't wait for VB's maternity line - more bandage dresses with extra stretch to accomodate cushion for the mum-to-be and capacious smocks for the surrogates.

As for VB breastfeeding - rofl.

PublicHair · 17/09/2011 07:24

what's funny about her breastfeeding izzy. Hmm (not that it's anyone elses business how she feeds her baby)

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 17/09/2011 07:36

VB hasn't and doesn't do bfing, Public.

PublicHair · 17/09/2011 07:37

she is allegedly bf harper. not that it's anything to do with anyone else.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 17/09/2011 07:53

'Allegedly' Public - as you say nothing to do with anyone else and I'd be fine with that if it wasn't for the fact that sleb mamas lie through their teeth set an airbrushed standard of perfection which their less financially fortunate sisters cannot possibly hope to aspire to but are, neverthless, duped into believing that they can emulate their heroines.

I freely admit that I have a thing about setting people up to fail.

PublicHair · 17/09/2011 08:45

you know what annoys me. it's people slating some 'sleb moms' and leaving others to carry on....
so VB gets slated for taking a newborn shopping.
brad and angelina drag 6 kids around the world while they are both making films (they don't need the money either do they) and they're hailed as super duper parents.
Kate Winslet lies and says she had a Vaginal delivery with her first child (when in reality she had a section) is she vilified.

at least be honest, the criticism of the beckhams is because you don't like them and are (IMO) jealous that someone who is (probably) very average in every way is now living a 'dream' life...

fedupofnamechanging · 17/09/2011 08:50

If I had shit loads of money, I'd be out shopping all the time too [shallow emoticon]. I think I would wear flats though and put the baby in a sling/pram. Would be worried about dropping her in sky high heels, but perhaps VB is more practised than me and it's like wearing slippers for her.

What public says.

And I for one don't care a not if they are 'fame hungry'. So what? It's what famous people are!

Actors / Sports people / Musicians may love the job but they love the applause too!
