To think it's weird that Victoria Beckham has taken her baby (insanely expensive) clothes shopping 3 days in a row in sky high heels followed by paparazzi

Ok I admit I saw these pics in the daily hate mail but come on, why would you wear these mountanous heels tottering around with your tiny baby in Prada/whatever 3 days in a row... dons hard hat........

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 16/09/2011 22:00

Yes must say I'd much rather have been in Prada 9 weeks post-partum than grubbing round boots looking for breastpads Wink

anonacfr · 16/09/2011 22:02

And yesterday it was a woman going to a fashion show and to a posh restaurant with an infant... and no nappy bag. Or buggy.

And this isn't attention- seeking? Hmm

Harper is out-Suri-ing Suri Cruise already!

Tryharder · 16/09/2011 22:02

I agree that the beckhams are good parents. Hard not to be with all that money and resources. I would imagine however that as soon as the cameras are gone, baby is handed straight back to the nanny...

Sorry, am being bitchy. Don't like vb.

PPPop · 16/09/2011 22:03

Don't worry, i'm not losing any sleep over it Wink

HairyGrotter · 16/09/2011 22:04

I like her, and I like her heels. I really like her heels Envy

I used to carry DD around, did so for about 4 months Blush. I just loved having her near me, found a decent sling helped with that though tbf.

Prefer VB than Myleene...urgh

Ifancyashandy · 16/09/2011 22:05

What MrsCB says. And I'm on the Sleb Twaddle thread saying similar.

Does VB get video'd by her husband snorting coke in the bathroom?
Do the kids seem the right combo of polite & cheeky?
Does she seem to have a marriage that works?
Is she falling out of clubs pissed with yesterday's breakfast on show?
Has she always worked?

Don't get the hate TBF.

YouWinOrYouDie · 16/09/2011 22:05

Why would VB need a buggy?

Apparently when Brooklyn was born they were given lots of them and other baby stuff which was all donated to charity.

Grin at grubbing around Boots for breastpads Mrs CB

Woodlands · 16/09/2011 22:06

hairy, I keep wondering why she isn't using a sling if she wants to have the baby close. Then she'd have two hands free for shopping! Hard to try clothes on though when you have a baby strapped to you, IME...

backwardpossom · 16/09/2011 22:07

Well said, shandy

backwardpossom · 16/09/2011 22:07

Tryharder rich doesn't = good parents ffs

LadyBeagleEyes · 16/09/2011 22:12

She's a mum of four and so far doesn't seem to have made a bad job of it.
If she can do it in heels, then good on her.
Of course she has help, every working mum does, even on MN.
I also don't get the hate.

HipHopOpotomus · 16/09/2011 22:15

When I see her in those heels carrying the baby I ....... Feel dark.

I want to safely put the baby back in her buggy and push VB over with a very small stick.

Pinot · 16/09/2011 22:16

YY HipHop!

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/09/2011 22:17

For those of you who "don't get the hate" can I just explain that I don't hate the Beckhams. It would be mad to hate them, I don't know them. Infact I reserve "hate" for only one person I know in rl and that is a person who was my neighbour 1988-1994.

But I think it is perfectly valid and understandable to sincerely "not like" or be very much put off by some celebrities. Especially the so-called professional celebrities who court the media spotlight. There are extremely successful and famous people who are not all over the tabloids every day and then there are those hangers-on who make it their business to ensure that they are always in the papers, whatever tiny little thing they do. The Beckhams are in this camp.

And why can't she put her baby in a sling or pram?

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/09/2011 22:20

I suspect she doesn't use a pram because she is dropped outside the doors of prada by a limo, the doors are opend for her, her mum is with her to hold the baby if she wants to try something on and then she hops back in the limo.

Ifancyashandy · 16/09/2011 22:32

Apparently, these 'professional celebrities' (let's just ignor the fact that a) she was a member of one of the worlds most successful bands. Ok, so the music was shite but you can't deny they had 'impact'. And b) he seems to be a pretty darn good footballer) tend to hold their babies as opposed to putting them in a pram as the paps shove their cameras in said prams. Not so nice for parent or child.

Course, she could leave the baby at home. But she'd be flamed for leaving the baby in the care of a nanny. And (probably similar to most parents of a newborn) she probably wants to be near her baby.

wigglesrock · 16/09/2011 22:34

And why can't she carry her baby? That's what I do when I nip into a shop and am not picking up anything big - admittedly not Prada but I would given half the chance.

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/09/2011 22:35

PMSL. Yes, she was in an enormously successful pop group and he is a talented footballer. But if they chose to be they could be relatively anonymous. They are out and out media whoes - as someone else put it - exploiting their fans for every single penny they can get. Yuk.

SouthernFriedTofu · 16/09/2011 22:45

Does anyone else ever wonder why these people choose to stay famous. I mean I undestand when they need the money but DB and VB could never be in the paper again and actually enjoy their money or do something new entirely. Where is the fun in fame?

Ifancyashandy · 16/09/2011 22:50

I've borrowed carried other people's babies round Prada. Just to, you know, ensure I had the right look going on!

But it's ok - the carpet in store is seriously thick and plush. You know, just in case my ridiculous heels resulted in me dropping the kid.

DaydreamDolly · 16/09/2011 22:52

How on earth could they be relatively anonymous or manage to never be in the paper again?! Please enlighten me!
I agree the heels are a bit much but I think its sweet to see mother and baby like that.
With all the laps you'd want to keep your baby close to you.

Ifancyashandy · 16/09/2011 23:00

They like the fame - so what? So did Liz Taylor. And Freddie Mercury. And Vivienne Leigh. And Kiera Knightly. And George Clooney. And anyone who is famous.

And clearly there's an interest. I mean, you opened and posted on a thread with the name 'Beckham' in the title!

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/09/2011 23:45

No I disagree that their kind of fame-hogging is anything like Vivien Leigh or George Clooney.

You don't see George tarting himself around advertising underpants do you?

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/09/2011 23:50

There are extremely famous people who are rarely in the papers. It can be done.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/09/2011 23:52

Doesn't George tart himself around advertising coffee and also Bacardi?
