For anyone who can't follow the link, or would rather not give the traffic and just believe instead, it's a tshirt that reads 'Nice New Girlfriend. What breed is she?'

OP posts:
TeddyBare · 14/09/2011 08:14

I agree that it's disgusting, but I suppose at least it's easier to see who to avoid if they're wearing this tshirt.

slavetofilofax · 14/09/2011 08:15

Meh.

It's not funny, and just lets people know that whoever's wearing the t shirt is a twat, but I can't bring myself to be bothered by it.

cleanteeth · 14/09/2011 08:27

Thats awful :(

kat2504 · 14/09/2011 08:29

Anyone twattish enough to wear this t-shirt is unlikely to have a girlfriend of his own with him. It is a way of warning young women away from idiots like this.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 14/09/2011 08:29

Bloody bloody hell. Angry

EggyChick · 14/09/2011 08:33

What does that mean - What breed is she? I am incredibly thick when it comes to 'modern' parlance. Blush

Having said that, if a son of mine tired to wear that he would be getting a stern talking to.

EggyChick · 14/09/2011 08:33

tried

HardCheese · 14/09/2011 08:41

Those t-shirts blow my mind - has anyone else seen the ones that have a penis apparently poking up out of the wearer's waistband?

And I can't believe the extent of the self-delusion of the porky little bollocks I saw on Oxford St wearing a t-shirt that had an arrow pointing to his groin and the slogan something like JUST BEND DOWN AND SUCK.

YANBU, but I agree that those shirts are a helpful way of indicating those to avoid!

I don't get it? Who is supposed to wear the t-shirt? What man would wear a t-shirt like that? I'm shuddering at the queasy suggestion as posted by HardCheese too... Confused

I mean, do we really need to tell our daughters that these men should be avoided? They're so helpfully 'marked up', I think we needn't bother... yuck.

southeastastra · 14/09/2011 09:24

bit crass for topman, the rest are quite nice.

ToothlesstheDragon · 14/09/2011 09:53

i dont understand "what breed is she" either. But as other posters have implied that its as disgusting as some of the other tshirts out there, then ugh

freesiaLiliy · 14/09/2011 10:03

think it means 'your new girlfriend is a dog' not a very nice way to describe anyone. I agree if a man is stupid enough to buy them then girls surely will think him a dick!

HairyGrotter · 14/09/2011 10:03

I don't 'get' the slogan, but it's a vile t-shirt...only a complete numpty would think it was a good idea to wear one.

Thankfully, those that wear them are highlighting the fact that they are numpties and that they are to be avoided by my DD at all costs.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 14/09/2011 10:05

They are liking women to dogs. bitches.

Something that you own of a lower species than the male wearer. Its fucking awful. I would happily take the head off any man I saw wearing that. And if my ds ever wore something like that I'd kill him!

TotemPole · 14/09/2011 10:09

The wearer is asking the question to whoever is reading the t-shirt. So, is it intended to be inflammatory?

Oh of course. WTF. And I am sure women would have been involved in the design and approval of that utter shit.

kelly2000 · 14/09/2011 10:21

I did not get the bit about breed refering to dog. I thought it was just being really really racist.

The irony of the "bend down and suck" t-shirts is that anyone who wears that is not going to spend a lot of his time with women anyway, so in actual fact is just tell his little mates to go down on him.

bananamonkey · 14/09/2011 10:35

I don't know what kind of morons would buy these kinds of Tshirts, the irony is, as others have pointed out, said wearer would be the least likely person to have a girlfriend.

At least they act as a good way for people to spot and avoid idiots without actually having to talk to them.

I saw similar in topman once, a t-shirt with one of those weight restriction road signs on but with a picture of a slightly curvy stick-woman and a limit of 9 stone Hmm

PuspornInBoots · 14/09/2011 10:51

It's not for the "him" it's for the "her" - it's aimed at girls who have been dumped and the boy has a new girl - the "breed" thing is supposed to insult the new girl by calling her a dog/bitch and basically "look at me, I am so much better than her and yet you dumped me for the bitch/dog" (which really would only reinforce an intelligent boy's knowledge that he made the right decision I think...)

all sick, very very sick.

I am waiting for the 'if you don'nt like it don't buy it' crew to arrive. . .
It that some people refuse to see that it's not been humourless, but that the slogan is just wrong that I don't get.

gapants · 14/09/2011 14:13

WTF is going on with Topman?

Anyone from Topshop PR like to chime in on the rational here?!

MrsVoltar · 14/09/2011 14:16

Would agree with others that it does help to identify wearer as complete arse and so avoid.
