Mum-to-be car stickers?
I mean- why??? Do you see one and think 'oh okay, I really really must not crash into that car'

I like the idea of a YABVU best I think. Very good Claws. MNHQ should make them.

ChristinedePizan · 12/09/2011 22:14

takethis - I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were the person whose unborn baby died as a result of a crash. I think we will have to agree to disagree. I don't take the signs very seriously - they don't make me drive any differently and I'm not a complete arse of a driver so I'm not sure they would have any effect on anyone who was. Maybe they would though - who knows? If they made you feel safer in a car, then they did their job.

NeverKnowinglyUnderDoug

"My Driving is as Random as my Thought Processes - back off for your own safety. Cup of tea?"

I found myself behind a car who's complete back window was covered in "Baby on Board" stickers, so much so that they completely obscured the vision out of the back window. I couldn't help thinking that if they were so concerned with people crashing into them and hurting their baby they really should have taken responsibility for their own road safety.

melpomene · 12/09/2011 23:24

How about these ones?

The worst one I ever saw said "I love my husband and kids".
Hell you don't say????

blondieminx · 13/09/2011 00:29

YANBU, those stickers are boak-worthy. I want one that says "YABVU - fuck the fuck off" for tailgaters! Will have to fess up to personalised sunshade for my PFB tho, that and the V festival parking sticker help distinguish our Focus from the other six thousand navy Focus's in the car park Grin

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 13/09/2011 09:14

Just remembered, DH got five and put them in each window of the car barring the windscreen.
We were living in Oman at the time and he was worrying about whether to put the Arabic writing or the English writing where it could be seen. He was (and remains) a tiny bit PFB with regard to DD.

MardyArsedMidlander · 13/09/2011 09:29

It worries me that some idiots will tailgate more to try to read the signs.

And that there is a sort of hierachy- surly nobody deserves to be crashed into, pregnant, with baby, or with twincesses? Or just some innocent single person.

Quenelle · 13/09/2011 09:41

I saw a car yesterday with a lifesize head and shoulders photo of a toddler in the rear window.

ledkr · 13/09/2011 10:27

lurking that sticker sounds like a nm flashing ticker Grin

domesticungoddess · 13/09/2011 11:04

I think people put them on their cars to prove they are having sex.

Stormwater · 13/09/2011 11:48

I like the Italian version of kids on board, 'bimbo a bordo'; mummies-to-be could use this in the uk!

NotFromConcentrate · 13/09/2011 12:20

I passed a "Mr & Mrs on board" sticker recently. Nauseating.

ladybutterfly1 · 13/09/2011 13:41

i woulden,t have a sticker there,s so many idiot drivers they coulden,t care less if you have a sicker or not.

Lexie1970 · 13/09/2011 14:20

Roundtable - that is obviously an exception - i go with the yuck as when i was pregnant my thinking was that if i was going to be in a crash it wouldn't matter what sticker was on the rear!!!!

How did our parents manage without all of these information stickers - it is a wonder any of us are here at all :-)

roundtable · 13/09/2011 14:48

Lexie I'm well aware that situation is an exception rather than a rule. That's why I said someone had posted about their situation and has in fact been on this thread. I did get some details wrong it was her third pregancy that she used the sticker for.

I also said Each to their own I think. I personally don't want to use them but things like that make me understand why some might.

A little bit of empathy I think can sometimes go a long way. It might not be how I or some others might handle a situation but we're all different and it's not causing anyone any harm as far as I'm aware.

mummymeister · 13/09/2011 14:53

On long dull journeys the children make up appropriate car stickers for other cars/drivers/passengers. my favs are
caution ugly baby on board
dont drive near me i wear a hat
busy picking nose - please pass
I'm above the law - i use my phone when i want
move over, i'm more important than you.

Helps pass the time!

roundtable · 13/09/2011 14:57

I like those mummymeister I think you should approach Hallmark. Grin

Pendeen · 13/09/2011 15:23

How about one displayed by those irritating drivers we all hate the most....

"The Middle Lane Is My Domain"

cherryburton · 13/09/2011 18:01

Was at a festival recently with a friend who had a "don't be a dick" sticker. He wore it in lieu of clothes for the weekend - I want one. (Not just for my car either!)

PootlePosyPerkin · 13/09/2011 18:57

For some reason, I'm feeling the need to know what "twincesses X and Y"'s names were. In my mind it was Chardonnay & Lambrini Grin.
