AIBU to feel sorry for the people who spend half their lives on mumsnet?

I lurk a bit at work ( prenteding to be busy, saves me making the tea ) and have started the odd thread here and there seeking advice, BuT my god I feel sorry for the posters who are on here day in day out for hours.
I know some people are socially isolated and I'm sure they get a lot from mumsnet, but it is rather sad when it becomes your main source of adult interaction, and by choice for many I imagin. I know mumsnet has one million members, but it's always the same names coming up in active conversations. These forums should be a place where you drop into now and then, not somewhere you rely on for friendship.

AIBU ?

This weekend we are going to watch the hunt followed by a bbq (as I am in no fit state to be riding myself!), then Sunday we have a dog show with tombola Grin aswell as hanging about the yard being utterly useless as i can't muck out, do haynets or water. I can however offer everyone cups of tea!

I don't mind if you pity my terrible, awfully empty life Grin

Pagwatch · 09/09/2011 12:56

noooo. Not rejected.
One teeny weeny bit less than hully. A micro mini smudge is all that's in it.

We could just threesome and stop the madness.

AuntieMonica · 09/09/2011 12:58

Proud

you reckon OP is pretending to feel sad for me

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 09/09/2011 12:58

I have an iphone. I've been on maternity leave. I used to MN while bfing and while holding my DD while she slept. Now I MN while she naps. I've somehow still managed to raise a beautiful, happy content baby, get myself a job AND start a university degree. But thanks for the sympathy. It must be lonely up there on your high horse.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 12:58

Will it stop the madness Pags? If you and I and the Hulls geddidonn?
Then I think we should

SpringHeeledJack · 09/09/2011 12:58

I'm on here/tweet a lot because I home educate.

Have you just spent 45 minutes hovering over a pair of 8 yos' shoulders trying to encourage them to practice the piano?

and before that, 30 minutes on handwriting?

and do you have an open tab with maffs worksheets on it, ready for them to do before their chum comes round? when they're DESperate to go and play Pokebollocks and will manifestly not co-operate with you?

do you??

eh???

DO you???

[chin out emoticon]

Claw3 · 09/09/2011 12:59

Actually i must get on with some house work, thank god for this thread, otherwise i would never have left!

SpringHeeledJack · 09/09/2011 12:59

...oh and don't feel sorry for me, OP

I feel sorry enough for myself already

AfternoonDelight · 09/09/2011 13:00

Must be so nice for OP who has such a fulfilled life filled with friends and merriment at every turn. I'm surprised they managed to find time to post what with all the socialising and "having a life" to do.

I don't really have that many friends and I don't go out a lot - there I said it - feel better about yourself OP? I like that there are people here who I can "talk" to who can actually form proper sentences and who aren't obsessed with coco pops.

I quite like my MNing life. So there.

Badgercub · 09/09/2011 13:00

Oh no! Grown adults choosing what to do with their lives!

Whatever next?

Pagwatch · 09/09/2011 13:00

Yes. I think it would.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 13:01

HULLY! WE NEED YOU!

OhdearNigel · 09/09/2011 13:02

Aww, I think the poor OP is feeling jealous of the Popular Girls.

Pagwatch · 09/09/2011 13:02

I once mned when the cleaners were here.
I did feel a bit bad about that. I always feel I should be doing something worthy when they arrive.

And once my iPad died mid post and I did whimper a bit

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/09/2011 13:04

Will you all pleeease stop feeling that you have to post to justify why you go on mumsnet.
You do not have to, it's nobody elses business but your own.

SuePurblybilt · 09/09/2011 13:06

I didn't LadyBeagle, did you see? I'm a good girl, I am.

Anyway, I only MN during sex.

destinationzero · 09/09/2011 13:06

No I'm not jealous of the popular girls, I'd rather be popular in RL ( which I am ) than popular with strangers.

You could be sitting there in filthy clothes, swigging beer and picking your nose for all I know, why would I want to be popular with you?

OP posts:
LadyBeagleEyes · 09/09/2011 13:07

Sex? What's that then?

AuntieMonica · 09/09/2011 13:08
Claw3 · 09/09/2011 13:09

Surely for you to know which posters who are on here day in day out for hours, you must be on here a lot?

I thought i used mn quite a lot, but ive never noticed who is on here, (other than Pagwatch, she sticks in my mind because i remember seeing pictures of her lovely dog, who im sure she should be brushing or something instead of being on here!)

(i know i lied about going to do the house work)

giyadas · 09/09/2011 13:09

Grin at "I'd rather be popular in RL ( which I am )..."
oh DZ, you are a one!

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/09/2011 13:11

No you're wrong Op, I'm sitting in filthy pyjamas swigging wine and smoking a fag scratching my bum.

GilbonzoTheSecretPsychoCunt · 09/09/2011 13:11

I hope you realise that I am now 17.6 mins behind in my hoovering OP thanks to you posting this thread and me reading it. That means that I will be late attending The Sink to do the washing up thus causing me to be late for Decorating Brother's Wedding Cake which will now overrun into Neighbours which I'll have to watch in the kitchen now. I'm going to have to drop Having A Crap from my schedule or I'll end up being late for the school run.

So damn right you should feel sad for me. You've fucked up my whole day.

destinationzero · 09/09/2011 13:12

Grin at 'Turns off Webcam'
