AIBU to wonder what activities/attributes/attitudes/acquisitions/attir e mark a person out as definitely middle class?

I have just returned home from a Boden clothes party where I drank Prosecco and talked about house prices!

Am I middle class? How can I be sure? What else would mark me out as middle class?

Do I need more than one sort of houmous in my fridge at all times?

Did you measure the distance between your best local school and your house before your dc started? Did you move to be closest to the best school?

What "class" does one fall into if one attends an ann summers party and whilst playing the name a rude word from a to z shouts out JIZZUM for J??? Is one lower class? Should one flog ones whippet and hope t'child is back from t'mill with 3 and 6 soon?

Just knowing that the phrase 'The Boden was 20 percent off' demands an exclamation mark has a definitely air of middle-classness.

Since when did large hoop earrings become middle class? Surely wearing Birkenstocks and being on first name terms with the staff at Waitrose is more of a giveaway?

May i ask about the host? Who the hell were they and why would you offer to throw a party for randoms? Apart from automatically catapulting yourself to Queen of the middle class mummies ( and free clothes)

Sorry - in the bottle that I made my 17 month old steal from Aldi. She doesn't get asked for ID as she has got big earrings and a tattoo. Erm, innit.

I do know all the staff at my local Waitrose - it is so reassuring to have one's fevered brow soothed by the John Lewis Partnership!
