Names like Gemma82 or yummymummy1.

There's so much choice. Obviously I'm a sucker for a bad pun. But I love the variety of names on here - great song lyrics, obscure references that I feel compelled to go off and google (and never google again in the case of dragon butter), bizarre word combinations and so on.

There are some notable exceptions but normally I make an assumption that if a poster can't think of an interesting name then they won't have anything interesting to say.

Yes I like jj's name too. You lot are not being bland enough.

(reminds me of that Goodness Gracious me sketch).

PeanutGallery · 31/08/2011 13:41

Ah now that would be telling, Mardy!

RustyBear · 31/08/2011 14:31

Shock at all of you using names that are not your own.

I am, of course, really a three-inch high knitted teddy bear....

TheVermiciousKnid · 31/08/2011 14:33

I really am a vernicious knid.

TheVermiciousKnid · 31/08/2011 14:35

So I would advise you all to be very, very nice to me.

Angry
IQuiteLikeVodka · 31/08/2011 14:39

I am really I

quirrelquarrel · 31/08/2011 14:41

Mine doesn't even mean anything. I just like the sound. And it seems to fit in rather often with the vibe of AIBU...unintentionally chosen, promise Blush

Gemma is very 80s, yes!

Kestryn · 31/08/2011 14:43

I'm rereading that one at the moment, Susanne Grin, she's a great character.

Mine's from my first Dungeons & Dragons character but I want to find something more interesting.

HedleyLamarr · 31/08/2011 15:07

My nn is not my rl name, merely my favourite film baddie. I am nowhere near as despicable as he is. Grin

ggirl · 31/08/2011 15:10

I really am a girl.
Boring but cba to change now

FreudianSlipper · 31/08/2011 15:14

anyone describing themselves as a yummymummy i would roll my eyes at but they might have something to say that is interesting

TaraJaime · 31/08/2011 15:16

I combined 2 friends' names; similar to mine. Fluffy & girlie..hahaha yes.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 31/08/2011 15:16

I also like the large number of Jilly Cooper referenced names out there. I wanted to be MrsCampbellBlack but someone had taken it Angry

Kestryn · 31/08/2011 15:22

I can handle mummy but mummie makes me grit my teeth - TOO cutesy. Although Mummiehunnie's posts aren't cutesy at all.

BaronessOrczy · 31/08/2011 15:29

Does mine pass the Mardy test? Purely out of selfinterest.

I wish I it could be more interesting but inspiration always fails me on the name change page.

Whathashappenedtomyboobs · 31/08/2011 15:35

Wink Wine. my name says it all!

BecauseImWorthIt · 31/08/2011 15:42

I am Spartacus

greencolorpack · 31/08/2011 15:48

If you have a sexy username it looks wrong on a bereavement thread. If you have a wet sounding, nursery school cutesy name it looks wrong on a sex thread. If you have an angry name it sounds wrong on a bland thread. If you identify with one image it looks wrong on the wrong thread.

So hooray for bland usernames! I used to use a silly name on an American website, it was a phrase about breasts I read in a book, I thought I was being literary and clever, but I got massive amounts of female posters hating me on sight because they thought I must be well endowed in the breast area and was showing off about it. And the male posters got all slathery at the mouth. Beats me how anyone can get breast-obsessed in a print medium, but seemingly the Yanks could, they seemed to have an udder fixation. Yucccch. It taught me a lot. Like, only ever use bland meaningless usernames. One size fits all. My name wouldn't look out of place on a bereavement or a sex thread. So there.

MardyBra · 31/08/2011 15:50

You're all fine.

I must go and do some work.

Flame me if I come back in the next two hours.
