Obviously I know it will never happen, but whereas other people dream about winning the lottery, having a new car or buying the house of their dreams... I dream about being the front woman of a band headlining at glastonbury Grin

I do play in a duo with DP, but so far we've not been brave enough (or able to agree on a set list) to perform properly in public (only in front of friends/family)

I just want to be Robert Plant (but not if he's the one boffing liz jones)

My DP and kids think that I'm a saddo. And they are probably right Wink

Flame me and make me bloody grow up.

It's nice of you all to form a backing group for me, I'm sure we'll all gel really well. Now, the set list. I'm going to open with Proud Mary before moving on to my own compositions. I can send around the sheet music to anyone who passes the auditions. I look forward to working with you.

Thumbwitch · 31/08/2011 10:08

yeah yeah, 230%, yeah no probs.

*Nescafé?? Product of the devil? Nooooo. You want some pukka beans, man!

RedBlanket · 31/08/2011 10:08

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 31/08/2011 10:09

Whoa Nelly. Snake as manager I have the power of veto and choose the set list if you very don't mind

SnakeOnCrack · 31/08/2011 10:20

rips, it's all about feeling the music. Can you feel the music?

alistron1 · 31/08/2011 10:51

Hang on a minute it's my game band, I choose the set list. Honestly, as soon as you get a bit of fame they all come out of the woodwork

I do a good rendition of the Smelly Cat song from Friends. That'll floor 'em.

shakey1500 · 31/08/2011 10:58

Shiiiiiiiiiiit. I passed out on the stairway. I'm too ill for breakfast and will pass because that's like sooooo rock and roll.

I may gargle some honey and lemon on the sly later.

So.....is my being a bit luvvie darling going to be a problem in this gig fest or what?

Suncottage · 31/08/2011 11:10

Is there a name for the backing band yet?

I think 'Mutton' has a certain ring to it.

KateGB9 · 31/08/2011 11:17

I tell people that I m a rock star!!! I played drums in a rock band years ago but still harbour an ambition to do it again.....I am 42!!! I also sing around pubs and clubs and I know that I am a good singer too as people come back to see me regularly! Never give up on your dreams and start small. Go for it! x

giyadas · 31/08/2011 11:36

huh? wha..??

MissRead · 31/08/2011 11:44

I thought I was the only sad 30 something who harboured a secret dream of being a rock star - it's my private late at night fantasy to imagine myself as a kind of modern Debbie Harry (cool and sexy with a band of hunky young men), travelling around on a tourbus and playing stadiums the world over.

Sadly I can't play any instruments and my singing voice is distinctly average but no harm in dreaming, just surprised that so many other people are doing the same! Would love to join the MN band if there's a slot for me.

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 31/08/2011 12:08

I am going to have to hand over the baton of manager for a bit. Me and the girl need to go out to do some very important stuff.
I'll be taking it back again though when I return.

GreenEyesandNiceHam · 31/08/2011 12:21

I've just got up.

This here salad, this isn't my lunch. This is my breakfast. That's how I roll.

ThePathanKhansWoman · 31/08/2011 12:27

RedBlanket · 31/08/2011 12:36

Its all about the music.

chill1243 · 31/08/2011 12:55

Alistron1....its ok to want to be a rocker at your age. Do a couple of small public performances ; see how it goes. A lot of us have or have had such dreams. Good luck

Thumbwitch · 31/08/2011 14:30

Yo Rock Dudes, how's it goin'?

suncottage - I realised when I wrote my earlier post that MNsters was quite amusing cool and could be pronounced as munsters or monsters - that could be an option for the backing group's name?
Lessee - Nice Ham and the Muttons
.............Nice Ham and the Munsters
.............Nice Ham and the Mooners
.............Nice Ham and the Pickleds

Which one do you fancy?

SnakeOnCrack · 31/08/2011 14:41

alistron, are we going to have musical differences?

alistron1 · 31/08/2011 16:03

Snake, as long as you are all willing to go with my concept idea of a 1 chord album, only using lyrics sourced from elvish then we'll get along just fine.

OP posts:
SnakeOnCrack · 31/08/2011 16:05

Right.. right.. because I've written this song right, and it's got THREE chords in it so.. I think you might have to leave the band. I know you created the band and all but, you know how it is.

alistron1 · 31/08/2011 16:07

Snake, you are being mighty ambitious thinking that with our combined musical ability that we actually KNOW three chords.

OP posts:
SnakeOnCrack · 31/08/2011 16:10

Oh.. I see.. well.. maybe we could use the keyboard demo on my casio keyboard? I got it in approx 1989 so it IS Rick Astley.. but I don't think anyone will notice. And it has some nice drum effects on it too.

alistron1 · 31/08/2011 16:13

Does your keyboard have exotic beats like the bossa nova and the samba? I had one like that before I became famous.

OP posts:
SnakeOnCrack · 31/08/2011 16:25

It DOES! With this baby we could reach the top of the hit parade in no time.
