To Think Stupid Woman Lovely Man

Driving home this evening son ASD/OCD, mum heart disease disabled, and the tyre goes as flat as a pancake. I was on a country road so I pull into a village and park up in a safe place. Village idiot (woman) says "your car smells like it is burning"

"I have a flat" I reply.

"So you do" she says. Then says "can you move your car it's on the road outside my house". No drive, just a road, no yellow lines, nothing, but my car had the audacity to come to a halt outside her house.

I asked not in a nasty tone but more one of bewilderment if she is joking, she then looks embarrassed.

Another man from the same village came out and me being a dumb ass woman and ashamed to admit I can't change a tyre on MN, changed it for me then didn't want the £20 I was trying to give him for helping. He did take it as we were so grateful. Having him helping helped keep my son calm, and made sure we all got home in one piece.

He was absolutely lovely, happy to help, a true gent. I haven't had help with my car since I was a size 10 and wearing skirts that my Mum called pelmets.

Son is very shaken, doesn''t cope well with things out of the norm but if it wasn't for the lovely man he'd be in a terrible state now.

But we're home (obviously) am I being unreasonable to think the woman was a silly moo to ask me to move my broken down gilloppy when it had a flat and the man was a true gent and happy to help me, my Mum and son on our way?

Nice to see effective and fair moderating going on. The one of mine that was removed, was a fair call, and so were all of the others, from other posters. No complaints from me. Though I would have preferred that it was removed yesterday as this was so very predictable. Never mind it was, as I said, the chance I took.

bully? sorry lost me there, if you look most of my posts are about mn hq allowing the op to stand, not about you, if they can delete posts cos they have the t word in them but leave a disablist term, something is bloody wrong

joric · 18/08/2011 08:22

2shoes - you are goading now- not fair.

Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 08:23

2shoes" I saw you all over the loon* thread shouting disablist there, whoops actually no I didn't, you didn't say a word. A total zero.

Did your clan jump on it? nope just the sound of silence. Still you had a lovely day on the attack with your faux outrage, MNHQ saw it and removed your posts and others and one of mine rightly so. There is language that you may find disablist all over this site but you ignore it.

I wonder why? Actually I don't.

Well done MNHQ. Perhaps some posters might use this as an opportunity to reflect on their own posting behaviour. Let's hope so.

You just don't get it, do you?

It's not about winning, or being vindicated in some way because someone else had more posts removed. It is about being sensitive to the opinions and views of others in a community.

What do you actually want to get out of being part of a forum like MN? Because if it is support or friendship or just a bit of fun and chat this isn't the way to go. If it is attention and drama and conflict then carry right on as you are.

Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 09:32

Kungfu I don't so double stanards and hyprocrisy very well. This site is full of disablist terms and nothing is said.

Let's try the term lunatic

The doghouse
Lunatic Spaniel in Reverse

Pregnancy
Pregnant women are lunatics - discuss
givemestrength
Telly addicts
Cash in the Attic lunatics
tortoiseSHELL
Am I being unreasonable?

Loubilou09
Am I being unreasonable?
Lunatic and absent mums at swimming lessons
Kerrymumbles

Employment issues

The same can be done with many terms that could be jumped all over but are the vultures swooping all over them, nope.

This is not about winning but refusing to be scared off as 2shoes earlier post makes clear was the aim, but about not giving in to grown adult bullies who really should know how to behave.

Now be a love you've educated larfs me, there are all of the above threads where the OPs are so badly in need of you and the vultures lessons about how not to use "disablist" terms.

Off you trot now, it's clearly very important to you all. Hmm

Mitmoo in all honesty i get the impression that you make life very difficult for yourself. Can you ever be told that you ABU without descending into a pile of whiny " I'm the victim" type behavior?

that's not a normal, adult response

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/08/2011 09:49

Patronising much OP? Blimey this thread has shown the true colours of some but not the ones the OP seems to think,
oh and MNHQ well done for letting this happen AGAIN

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/08/2011 09:49

"Off you trot" NICE Hmm

LadyFlumpalot · 18/08/2011 09:50

Mitmoo - I have a suggestion for you. Why don't you, as an experiment, do a name change, leave it a week or too then come back and post an AIBU under your new name? That way you'll be able to ssee, by the kind of response you get, if people are just jumping on you or on your subject matter.

I hope this makes sense? It did in my head.

LadyFlumpalot · 18/08/2011 09:51

for ssee please read see

Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 09:52

Well really after more days of attacks and sheer hyprocrisy what do you expect. The double standards are truly outstanding. Gold medal stuff.

Seriously kittens hob and kungfu as you were so distraught yesterday about the use of the term "village idiot" I felt sure, being as you are such genuine posters, that you'd be rushing to to educate those using the term lunatic so liberally.

You are offended by that too aren't you?

Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 09:54

Lady could you imagine if I name changed. There would be troll accusations all over the place, she has stuff to hide and all that crap. The vultures would feed off that too. Why give them more ammunition? Why should I hide?

OP posts:
hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/08/2011 09:55

Mitmoo I think you really have some issues with being a victim. It shines through your threads maybe dealing with that would help

Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 09:55

Hobnob you surprise me, I thought you were so offended about disablist language. Your yawn would confirm the faux outrage of yesterday. Not that it wasn't already very obvious.

OP posts:
LadyFlumpalot · 18/08/2011 09:57

I'm not suggesting you hide, I'm suggesting that you do an experimental thread. If, as you say, people are just using your name as an excuse to jump over the thread, then you should have no problems posting under a new name - which you can ditch afterwards and go back to Mitmoo.

If, however, people are genuinely offended by your posts, then no matter what name you post under people will jump on you.

You will be able to see which it is, and no-one need be accused of trolling or bullying.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/08/2011 09:57

HA HA HA HA HA
"faux outrage"
yes that's right

Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 10:00

Hobnob you're not accusing me of having mental health issues, surely that is to trivialise such an important issue as mental health. Every post confirms faux outrage double standards and hypocrisy.

Lovely. There are those lunatic threads that you need to pop along and get the posters educated. That's if if you genuinely care of course.

Let's see just how genuine you all were being yesterday.

OP posts:
Mitmoo · 18/08/2011 10:03

Lady It's an idea but one what would give others a lot of ammunition, and there would definately be the troll accusations if I slipped up with something such as repeating and anecdote. I don't think I'd be any good at doing "undercover".

Its clear they have just jumped on me as they attached tothe words "village idiot" and are ignoring threads with "Lunatic" "loon" "moron" etc in them. They are easily found using the advanced search. IF they're genuine they'll go and tackle them. Waits............

OP posts:
festi · 18/08/2011 10:04

why should anyone go over to those threads, no one on here are self confessed activists seeking out situations to champion a cause. I read your thread was disgusted by it and felt I should express my out rage. If I seen it again on anyone elses thread I would do it again.

pippilongsmurfing · 18/08/2011 10:08

Mitmoo, you do seem to make life very difficult for yourself.

Do you yourself not wonder why YOU have all these dramas in your life?

Could it be the way you react to situations that causes them to ignite?

Mitmoo you owe me an apology- please quote my posts to substantiate the above?
