- one could say the same for anything. hmm Does anything go in your world, and if people don't like it they should just avoid it? -
Not quite but I don't see the point in complaining about it, they aren't going to close Hooters just because you don't like it! If you don't like a food, you don't eat it, if you don't like a movie, you don't watch it, I'm just saying that it makes sense to me that if you really disagree with the premise of Hooters that much, vote with your feet and don't spend any money there! Simple!
No, I don't have any daughters (yet), I have 2 sons, and I personally wouldn't care if they chose to go somewhere like Hooters. If I did have any daughters I really wouldn't mind if they wanted to work somewhere like that either! It probably wouldn't be my restaurant of choice mainly just because I hate watching sport and wouldn't care to have in on in the background while I'm eating but I really don't see the problem with the concept. I don't think not having daughters disqualifies me from being able to have an opinion.
The girls do a job and get paid (probably better than most waitresses in restaurants) and they probably also get good tips, which I know can make a big difference having worked as a waitress myself.
The thing is, men ogle women wherever you go. Having worked as a barmaid that is one place in particular where blokes are very likely to eye women up but no one is calling for a blanket ban on pubs or alcohol! Hooters is just a bit more obvious about the fact that they prefer to employ slim, attractive girls for their staff but in reality most places with customer facing roles do, they are just more subtle about it!
