Now the laptop can be anything as long is has wifi so I can skype and is good condition.

And the 32" flatscreen tv must be suitable for the playroom.

Seriously though, why do they let these people on Freecycle?

On one of my local groups today.

Does anyone have a high sleeper single bed frame please. Doesn't mater if it's wood or metal as long as it's not pink; my xxyr old son wouldn't approve! Would be pleased to hear from anyone who can help.

I recently put a couple of items up and would actually be loath to put anything on ever again. People were so rude and grasping and demanding and then not turning up! IT's a shame because the whole idea of freecycle is being ruined by people out for all the nice free stuff they can get and it's really unfair on people who genuinely need it, and but for the grace of god go many of us I bet.

I offered some spare baby stuff, moses basket, bath, toiletries box etc on our local freecycle and had a pitiful reply from a lady desperate for my stuff but she lived too far away and had no transport. Plus she was 8 months pregnant so was worried about trying to carry stuff.

I had a friend deliver said stuff to her then someone told me to check out ebay as someone was selling a moses basket (somewhat unusual one) plus baby bath, toiletries box etc.

I looked and it was indeed my stuff

Said it will need 2 people to shift it.

Hermionestranger - if I'd seen the one that said "i am after 2 kittens please for my children" - I would have been sooo tempted to reply - 'two kittens for some children - seems like a fair swap to me!!'

We've given away lots of stuff on freecycle recently after a big sort-out and people have been so so grateful and lovely. The loveliest was the guy who came to get some old computer games, he said his son was so excited about getting them (awwww).

And 5 years ago we did get our bed from freecycle! Was an offer not a wanted, someone wanted to get rid of it but it was in perfect condition and is still going strong. So these things do come up occasionally.

As far as funny posts go, there's a guy on our local freecycle who keeps asking for car batteries. Originally he said he wanted them for a go-kart project, but as he's still posting after having received a few we have a sneaking suspicion he's sending them to the scrappy at £10 a pop!

Im a bit perrplexed about this posting today

hi all a long shot i know but does anyone have 4 large tree stumps or a dory toy off finding nemo also looking for a garden table and chairs as near to xxxxxx as possible as dont have my transport at the moment

I so want to ask why its either 4 large tree stumps or a dory toy? And without transport how on earth would they even begin to fetch 1 small tree stump?

I offered an aviary-style rat cage. I specified the dimensions (think small square footprint but very tall) and said that although it was intended for small birds by its manufacturer I had kept rodents in it with the addition of shelves, ledges, hammocks and other things to make it suitable for creatures without wings.

I got a reply to ask if I thought it might be suitable for chickens....
