Black Friday?

I fell asleep at 7.45pm so I've just woken. I was just checking mn on my way to bed

Tea - Black Friday is this crazy shopping day in the US, the Friday following their Thanksgiving, best prices of the year. LOTS of people from here drive down across the border for the amazing sales.

We have a bit of it here too in recent years, but the price cuts are nothing compared to the States, it is unreal. Also insanely busy.

Wish you were closer Cheerful, I'd come and pick you up from your parents for some madness!

That would be fun! :) Maybe next year I'll find a way to make it happen.

It can be nuts, people get up at two or three in the morning to be the first one in line, etc. Last year a Wal-Mart employee was actually trampled to death, which is horrible. I'll be hoping/praying this year is safe for everyone.

But if you're going to a smaller place and getting together with friends to scope out deals it's actually really fun and exciting! :)

Freezing cold here in Vt but it's refreshing after misty murky London.

We've been out riding and came home to waffles and bacon which is more than enough to keep me going until the gargantuan feast this evening, but we're lunching in a local inn after visiting neighbours who will ply us with home-baked goodies... I swear I'm gonna gain a stone today

I've learned the Stanley Holloway 'Brahn Boots' piece that's mentioned on another aibu thread as my party turn for tonight. I'm gonna wow the assembled company with my cockney accent - which I'm vain enough to believe is far superior to Mr Van Dyke's 'chiminee' sweep but, if the audience looks mystified, I might have to repeat the monologue in yankeespeak.

Black Friday is off the agenda, always has been and always will be as far as I'm concerned. No matter how immense the savings, shopping malls at sale time are not my 'cup of tea' as they say in England.

The book marks in MN - I keep having to scroll through everything I have already read - getting very tiresome. The bookmark icon has disappeared!

Sounds like your browser maybe having issues. Which do you use? Google Chrome is pretty good.
