Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, Elmo, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Smile Cheerful . My dh refuses to put ours up until two weeks before Christmas

valiumredhead · 21/10/2011 16:24

Glad you are feeling better go but that sicky hangover feeling after one is horrible.

I have started a thread in food about family meals - PLEASE go and post meal suggestions as I am in such a rut...

gomummygo · 21/10/2011 17:58

Added a few Valium, hope they are not duplicates as I didn't read the whole thread Blush. Had to go and make myself a snack, LOL!

valiumredhead · 22/10/2011 16:34

Thanks! All ideas really appreciated. I have realised I am not bored it's just I can't stand cooking savoury foods - if I could cook cakes and muffins all day I would be very happy! Grin

I have ANOTHER bad headache, not quite enough to make me need to go and lie down but enough to make me feel sick and queasy urrrrgggggggggh.

Looking forward to X Factor tonight! Grin

gomummygo · 22/10/2011 17:46

Ugh Valium, sorry to hear that. Do you have anything that helps? Hope you feel better soon.

FearfulYank · 23/10/2011 03:40

Sorry Valium . :( Caffeine always helps me but then I run the risk of a rebound headache.

I went to see the new Footloose last night and really liked it! I was surprised because I loved the old one.

That's about all I'm up to. :)

valiumredhead · 23/10/2011 09:23

Morning! :)

I ended up having an early night and feel better this morning, just ever so slightly frail and queasy iykwim? I find it hard to take pain killers as they end up making me feel sick - this is a new thing so don't know if they are putting different ingredients in them...

I don't drink caffeine at all yanky, maybe I should try!

I remember Footloose, sounds fab! Grin

RedRumElmosMum · 23/10/2011 09:45

Oh you poor thing valium Sad I find Nurofen plus tablets are the only thing that helps my headaches . I had a headache last week that lasted 3 days until i took the Nurofen . Does anyone else's head feel sore to even brush their hair after a bad headache or am i just weird ? Confused

I watched "The Orphanage" before bed last night and scared the pants off myself Grin

valiumredhead · 23/10/2011 09:54

It's the Nurofen that has been making me feel sick elmo which is a shame because it does work. I ended up taking some of ds's Calpol last night Grin

Not heard of The Orphanage - have seen Orphan, that was good in a totally unbelievable way Grin

RedRumElmosMum · 23/10/2011 10:10

OOh i loved Orphan Smile Another good film is Case 39 Renee Zellweger is in it . You can see the trailer here www.imdb.com/title/tt0795351/

Could you try take Motilium tablets for the sickness ? They are great .

valiumredhead · 23/10/2011 10:12

Not heard of Motilium, I will look out for them next time I'm in Boots, thanks.

RedRumElmosMum · 23/10/2011 13:14

Motilium is something i always keep in stock for upset tummies Smile It stops D&V bugs almost instantly . Hope your feeling better soon xxx

It's a miserable day here , non stop rain

FearfulYank · 23/10/2011 15:29

I think DH and I are going to work on the hardwood floor today. I just want it to be done ! :)

Ew, Orphan! I cannot watch scary movies at all! They make me cry Blush

gomummygo · 23/10/2011 17:22

No scary movies for me either, but I loved the original Footloose! Must have watched it fifty times, lol!

Hope you're feeling better by now Valium, I know exactly what you mean about that next day yuckiness. No pills that help for me, but I do take Gravol when I take my injections as they make me feel queasy as well. Probably called something else there though. Oh and you're not weird Elmo, I can't stand the hairbrush either when I have a migraine. Something about the blood vessels in your head dialating, makes your scalp really sensitive?

Good luck with the hardwood Fearful, I'm sure it will be beautiful when you're done! :)

valiumredhead · 23/10/2011 17:33

I had that hair thing while I was at the hairdresser's yesterday - made me nearly throw up I felt so sick every time they put foils in

Pork chops, roast potatoes and veg anyone? Grin

FearfulYank · 23/10/2011 17:49

I bet you'll like the new one GoMummy . They stayed true to the feeling of the original. :)

I hate the hungover thing. My bad migraines are a three day affair...Day One is head-splitting pain, Day 2 is the hangover pukey feeling, and Day 3 is absolute, been-hit-by-a-train exhaustion. Yuck!

Mmm, that sounds good Valley !

gomummygo · 23/10/2011 18:23

Sounds lovely Valium, do you deliver? Grin

I will be impressed by it then, Cheerful, I was thinking that the new one couldn't possibly touch it!

Really good description of the migraine progression. I get the aura beforehand so am "fortunate" to have some warning, but the horrible pain usually lasts longer than a day or two. Just gets worse and worse until I am basically a non-functional wreck, get sick, sleep heavily, then wake up with the pain gone but hangover/exhaustion here. That part only lasts about 12 hours for me though.

Do you all know your triggers? Mine (all four) are unfortunately unavoidable. Ah well, at least I am not affected by lovely aged cheeses! :)

valiumredhead · 23/10/2011 18:24

Mine seems to be on the last day of my period (TMI!) so wondering if it is hormonal...

gomummygo · 23/10/2011 18:35

Have heard of lots of people with a hormonal trigger Valium. Hard to avoid though!

RedRumElmosMum · 23/10/2011 18:38

With me it's mostly stress and high blood pressure that causes them although sometimes i get them after sex strenuous activities Blush Grin (TMI sorry)

Cheerful please post a pic of the floors when they are finished Smile

valiumredhead · 23/10/2011 18:43
Grin
RedRumElmosMum · 23/10/2011 19:01

Grin LOL

gomummygo · 23/10/2011 21:18

Grin Elmo!

FearfulYank · 23/10/2011 21:22

:o

Not enough sleep, too much sugar or sugary stuff. Those seem to be the main ones. Oh, and not following my GF diet of course, though it's been years so I forget about that one.

gomummygo · 23/10/2011 23:11

Are you totally GF Fearful? I'd love to find some tasty GF recipes. There's such poor selection in the stores here and it costs a fortune.
