Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, Elmo, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

princess I did that with tonsallitis (sp) in my early 20's - I ended up with Quinsy and 3 weeks in bed and a cancelled holiday Grin

CheerfulYank · 03/10/2011 19:14

Poor DD Elmo ! I have a friend who does oils and lotions for all sorts of things and I know she has one for respiratory stuff. Bit woo but it might work! I think I was on antibiotics for entire years of my childhood; I had constant strep and ear infections.

DS and I are battling again. :( I started another thread about it. It sounds so stupid to write down, but we just butt heads about everything . I feel like someone's going to show up on the thread and tell me to just let him be, etc, but I hate defiant behavior, mouthiness, etc, and can't really ignore it.

Tiredmumno1 · 03/10/2011 20:25

Aww elmo hoping everything starts looking up, chest infections are awful i hope dd does not have to be on anti b's to long, if your worried maybe you should have a word with the doc, to try and put your mind at rest.

Cheerful, i have no constructive advice really as we are fighting the same battle, its really hard at times, some days are good others are awful, i try to ignore the bad behaviour, i hope you manage to get past this

Hi everyone else, i am suffering with a stupid cold myself, i feel like a dipstick walking around in boiling hot weather whilst coughing and spluttering everywhere, yucky.

Hope you are all good otherwise x

gomummygo · 03/10/2011 22:38

Oh Elmo, Poor DD! :( Like Cheerful, I had constant strep and ear infections and spent most of my childhood on antibiotics. Sort of grew out of it around 12 and was the healthiest teenager imaginable, not that that will be of any comfort to you right now! Wish I had something to suggest, the poor wee girl sure is having a rough time of it. :(

Valium the idea of actual blooms in the winter is lovely, it would bring a bit of sunshine, iykwim!

Sorry to hear about the battles, Cheerful. DS is similar and I am like you - can't stand defiant behaviour, talking back, etc. Immediate consequences and picking my battles seems to be helping a little. Picking my battles is more about timing - he absolutely cannot be reasoned with when tired or hungry, it is just an exercise in frustration on my part! Talking about things afterwards when he is calm/rested/fed/etc., seems to be a bit more effective. I have also developed a stare...it is like a blank stare with no reaction at all...somehow it seems to work sometimes!

Aw Tiredmum, fall colds are no fun. Hope it passes quickly. I'd advise lots of rest but no idea how anyone with 3 DCs manages that!!! :)

Tiredmumno1 · 04/10/2011 21:39

Oh thanks gomummy, and you are so right trying to rest with 3 dc's is near impossible, hoping it passes soon, i wont be happy if it develops into an infection, thats usually what happens with me.

Dh got a tattoo done today its ds1's name in chinese symbols, i'll put up a piccy in a mo of it, he will be getting ds2 and ds3 done soon, nutter Grin

gomummygo · 04/10/2011 23:15

Post Pic! Post Pic! Post Pic! Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 05/10/2011 00:13

I done it gomummy, nose away Grin

CheerfulYank · 05/10/2011 02:07

Oooh I like it!

I like tattoos on men. :)

gomummygo · 05/10/2011 13:52

I like it too, though am shuddering at the thought of how much it must hurt to do that!

Have posted a link on fb so you can see my daily entertainment. Taking down later, but thought it was a good chuckle for the day. :)

elmofan · 05/10/2011 14:09

Oooh I've just seen the youtube link on FB gomummy Smile is that your DS ? he is tooooo cute for words xx

gomummygo · 05/10/2011 14:17

Yes it is him, being a ham. :)

Tiredmumno1 · 05/10/2011 14:19

Gomummy he says it didnt hurt really, so i suppose thats a good thing for him Grin

And the youtube clip is great, your ds is so lovely, and i absolutely love your accent, you are so layed back i probably would have fainted if my boys did that, although mine are alot more messy, i feel like i run around after them with a cloth everywhere, i sound terrible Grin

Elmo so have you got a cold?

Cheerful glad you like the tat aswell, we think the tattoist did a great job Smile

gomummygo · 05/10/2011 14:25

HA, I have to confess it Tiredmum, the first thing DH said was that he was so proud of me for stopping to catch that moment rather than running around with a cloth like I normally would, LOL! Grin

Impressed that your DH said it didn't really hurt! He is certainly much tougher than I! Hope you can post a pic when he does the others too.

elmofan · 05/10/2011 14:51

He is just adorable gomummy x

Are you feeling any better tiredmum ? I love your dh's tat Smile
Yeah i got my flu jab at the doctors on Monday and it always makes me sickly for a few days afterwards . Couldn't stop shivering in bed last night yet it's still very warm here .

Tiredmumno1 · 05/10/2011 15:58

Haha gomummy, well i am proud of you aswell, you really managed to stay calm, and i agree with elmo your ds is so adorable Smile

Aw elmo that sounds horrible, we are ill together Grin yup i still feel rotten, just trying to get on with it though, along with willing it to bugger off that is Grin

Oh and i will post pics when he gets the other ones done not sure when yet i'll let ya know

valiumredhead · 05/10/2011 16:04

Afternoon :)

I have just made a Cottage Pie for dinner tonight...

Tiredmumno1 · 05/10/2011 16:24
Grin

Just kidding, we got beef casserole, mash, and veg, yummy i cant wait Grin

IdjustassoonkissaWookiee · 05/10/2011 16:41

I have a chicken casserole in the oven here. It's a cheat as I used a powdered sauce you mix with water Blush

I think I missed the youtube clip Sad

gomummygo · 05/10/2011 16:52

Idjustassoonkissawookiee - go to my fb, link on wall. :)

Mmm...dinner plans! What is cottage pie Valium? Preparing chili with giant homemade croutons for this evening here. It's cold, need something hearty.

Aw Elmo, it does that to me too. They always tell you you can't get sick from the flu shot, but I certainly get those symptoms every year! Can't believe you can get your shot so early though, that's great really.

Tiredmumno1 · 05/10/2011 17:08

Thanks gomummy, you look after us so well Grin

Shall i get dh to drive me down motorway to pinch ijust's dinner, or pack me bags and get to the airport for the first flight to canada, for gomummys yummy sounding din dins, oh the options are to hard, although the smell of ours is wafting up the stairs and it smells goooood Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 05/10/2011 17:11

I meant idjust - Blush

I'll refer to you as wookiee from now on, its all so confusing Grin

elmofan · 05/10/2011 17:29

I don't usually get my flu shot this early gomummy but i reckon my sadistic doctor took pleasure in giving it to me seeing as i questioned him about dd's treatment Grin

I too have cooked a beef casserole for dinner with creamy mash .

valiumredhead · 05/10/2011 18:05

OMG read the c**t threads in AIBU - how rude! Not the language - the unprovoked attack. Rude woman! And two threads about it?...

gomummygo · 05/10/2011 18:19

Grin Well, by the time you get here it would be breakfast, Tiredmum! I'd love to have you critique my version of the full english though!

yy to Wookiee, I like it!

Elmo what do you put in your creamy mash?

valiumredhead · 05/10/2011 18:24

Well, perhaps not completely unprovoked but ykwim?
