Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, Elmo, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

You know I may just keep this name. As I am so not feeling it or ready to date anyone yet and it's 2 years this month since the affair came out and separation. So I don't want to kiss anyone, rather a kiss a wookie Wink LOL

CheerfulYank · 01/10/2011 18:17

That's hot! It's...erm... 11 here? 52 Fahrenheit and sunny. It feels marvelous!

:o at the thought of you kissing Chewbacca!

IdjustassoonkissaWookiee · 01/10/2011 18:26

Weird weather, nice in one way but I was just starting to enjoy the Autumn feel and all the local paddling pools in parks are closed as usually by this time of year it's much colder. I have filled up the pool in the back communal gardens but it's a real hassle quite frankly Smile And needs changing regularly as the mud/ grass/ bugs get in it.

CheerfulYank · 01/10/2011 19:15

We got a big pool this year that's too big to change very often and it was gross by the end of summer.

This year I'm going to have the hose near it all the time and a strict rinse-your-feet before getting in rule. :)

valiumredhead · 01/10/2011 19:22

elmofan · 02/10/2011 09:11

I know how you feel Tea . I've been thinking of Gomummy all morning - Hoping things turned out OK for her

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2011 10:24

Me too! I feel for her; I would just be in knots.

valiumredhead · 02/10/2011 12:37

Hope you are ok go? x

IdjustassoonkissaWookiee · 02/10/2011 18:47

GoMummy update

Also melting and I have to wash up now, I'll be too tired later.

gomummygo · 02/10/2011 18:58

Thanks for posting the link Tea. And thanks everyone for thinking of me. Didn't go great, but not surprised.

Envy all of you with the warm weather! Last week it was still warmer than usual here but we are having typical seasonal temperatures now, making fires at night and in the morning. Today smells like winter is coming. Blech.

SO looking forward to Thanksgiving (Mine being much closer than yours, Cheerful!). Do you all have any other major holidays before Christmas?

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2011 19:20

I'm sorry GoMummy . You did what you could.

The only thing to be done is to move closer to me so our DS's can play together. Wink

gomummygo · 02/10/2011 19:40

An excellent idea, Cheerful. I think the only better idea would be both of us moving across the pond where it sounds so warm! Grin

IdjustassoonkissaWookiee · 02/10/2011 20:52

It's going to cool off again now here Smile

We have half term in a couple of weeks. But that's it. Cannot wait to have DD at home with me for a week. Miss her so much since she began full time school.

gomummygo · 03/10/2011 01:44

Aw Tea, I am not even ready to imagine that yet, you must miss her so much! I hope you have a lovely week all together.

valiumredhead · 03/10/2011 17:14

I went to the garden centre and bought nice winter plants - dh is planting them now :)

MUCH cooler her today thank goodness!

How is everyone? :)

gomummygo · 03/10/2011 17:20

Valium, what are winter plants??? I must know!

valiumredhead · 03/10/2011 17:23

Anything that will last through the winter - winter flowering pansies and some others that I can't remember the names of Grin

How are you feeling today after THE chat yesterday? Relieved? Sad? Both? x

gomummygo · 03/10/2011 17:32

Envy of any plant lasting through the winter! Winter flowering pansies - amazing!

Both actually, relieved and sad, with a side order of guilt over feeling relieved. Better today than yesterday though, starting to see things a bit more clearly now and genuinely feel it was the right thing. The AIBU really helped. There's a lot of wisdom around here.

How are you?

elmofan · 03/10/2011 17:48

Hello

DD is sick again with ANOTHER chest infection had her back at the doctor this morning , i swear at this stage it's every 3 weeks that this infection acts up again . She has been like this for just over two years now . I was very firm about telling my GP that i am worried sick over the long term effects all these Antibiotics will have on her health Blush Sad (had dh with me for backup Blush )
Doctor has put her on a two week course of Antibiotics in the hopes of combating this infection and 2 new steroid inhalers and a Ventolin inhaler . If this doesn't work then it looks we will get referred back to the hospital .

Brew anyone ?

PrincessScrumpy · 03/10/2011 18:04

elmofan just found this thread and you post reminds me of my tonsilitus I got as a child. Finally my mum decided to keep me home from school to get over it without antibiotics as everytime I stopped taking the tablets I had it again a week later. I think I was off school a week and a half but it stopped the cycle of getting it. Obviously I don't have any medical knowledge but it worked for me - would definitely still take the inhalers though, plus lots of honey and lemon drinks. x

valiumredhead · 03/10/2011 18:08

Winter flowering pansies always do well after a bit of snow go - they get a second wind and bloom and bloom. The ones we got today are hardy perenials so will do will up to about -5 which I appreciate is positively tropical compared to your winters Grin

I'm well thanks :)

elmo poor dd Sad I really hope this knocks it on the head. I remember having tons of ear infection as a teen, I had loads of anti b's and nothing worked. Then one day I went back to the clinic AGAIN and my usual doctor was away and I saw a young newly qualified locum who prescribed a particular anti b that was for use when all else failed. Worked a treat. I think sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is needed. Hope she's not too bad and feels better soon x

elmofan · 03/10/2011 18:21

Thanks princess and valium x

I wish i could help her without the need for antib's all
of the time but its so scary to hear the wheeze & whistling
noise that comes from her chest when the infection sets in.
Fingers crossed the new inhalers will help.
