There's another thread open right now speculating about Liz Jones' 'rock star boyfriend'. RP's name keeps on coming up and I find it partly horrifying and partly hilarious Wiser people than me seem to think it's definitely not him but it's still giving me food for thought....

Is she capable of talking about anything other than handbags and facelifts? How long before his lovely chilled-out demeanour cracks and he wants to put his head in the oven? Ooooh to be a fly on the wall.....

I thought it was Jim Kerr but she often refers to her RS boyfriend as being in recovery from drink and drugs. Jim Kerr was on Radio 2 the other morning and he categorically said that he had never been into either and so certainly isn't in recovery - (he made a joke about being a Scotsman) - so this doesn't add up

Anyway, I think we established that the RS is a figment of the lantern-faced one's feverish imagination. If he ever turns out to be real, or anyone more prolific than the drummer from Level42, I'll do the Single Ladies dance, in Trafalger Square, dressed up as Napaoleon. I will.

I suspect that the RS would walk into a restaurant; there would be a ripple of recognition from customers and staff alike; the maitre'd would rush forward to greet the RS and usher him to his table - only to be completed nonplussed at the aging brunette woman elbowing her way past the RS crying "Meeeee, meeeee, I'm the important one here".

The maitre'd would quietly ask the RS if he would like security to remove her.

i don't even know who liz jones is but the idea of the 23 yr old Robert Plant is vividly etched in my brain and sort of preserved in aspic and can't bear the idea of some awful journal ruining my imaginings
