to be wondering (a lot) what Robert Plant's first date with Liz Jones would be like?

There's another thread open right now speculating about Liz Jones' 'rock star boyfriend'. RP's name keeps on coming up and I find it partly horrifying and partly hilarious Grin Wiser people than me seem to think it's definitely not him but it's still giving me food for thought....

Is she capable of talking about anything other than handbags and facelifts? How long before his lovely chilled-out demeanour cracks and he wants to put his head in the oven? Ooooh to be a fly on the wall..... Grin

i think i would lose all respect for him if it were true.

(btw cupcakes don't say "cretin" i do not like the fact that you have compared my DD to liz jones. google cretinism, old fashioned term but now called congenital hypothyroidism, a condition which not always but can cause major physical and mental problems. i'm not ghastly offended by your use but have a duty to educate.)

We met Robert Plant a couple of months back and he was with a woman, I think having looked at photos it was Liz Jones, however DH isn't so sure.....

I've been trawling the Internet thinking about this and I honestly think she's making it all up. There is NO concrete evidence of who she's seeing, and surely after this length of time there might be a few photos or sightings but it all just seems to be rumours.

She makes things up doesn't she?

Having said that she went to a festival to see the RS didn't she so it must be someone who's played recently (that doesn't narrow it down much does it?!)

I remember, in one of her articles, she mentioned meeting the RS's adult DD. I don't know enough about Robert Plant or Jim Kerr to know whether either of them have a DD.

All the indications from people in the know are that the rock star boyfriend is total fantasy/trolling and even if it were true, it would NOT be Robert Plant! Apparently he is seeing his Band of Joy band mate Patti Griffin. Likeaheadlesschicken, Patti Griffin has long dark hair and could possibly pass for LJ in a bad light so it may have been her you saw with RP.

So calm down Led Zep/Plant fans, I was only joshing! I just find the thought of such totally mismatched people making conversation extremely amusing and wanted to hear what sort of 'scenarios' you lot would invent with your fevered imaginations. You haven't let me down Wink

John Bonham would be turning in his grave... seriously I'd be flabberghasted if its Robert Plant. Just can't match up someone associated with that much rock n' roll excess (and real creativity, to boot) with someone who's turned neurosis and narcissism into an art form. Jim Kerr marginally more likely although even this seems doubtful and depressing. I think cupcakes probably has it right... some eejit like Mark Shaw who got lucky and had two hits in the late 80s rather than a proper rock star.
If its Robert Plant I will donate all my Led Zep albums to charity...

Started reading this thread last night and then didn't sleep for worrying about Robert Grin. Seriously though, he's 63, which doesn't fit the profile as described by LJ (accepting that she might be disguising RS), he does have a daughter, but as someone else said , she's a bit old to be pregnant (but not impossible) and as to taste, well, he has children with both his ex-wife and his ex-wife's sister, which could be regarded as a fairly serious lapse of taste ( or just one of those weird things that happens sometimes, esp to rock gods). If it is him, I'm going to fling myself face down on my bed and weep until I swoon.

In a way I hope for her sake that he is real. Didn't like her at all to start with but think she realises that she is totally needy and pampered princess and she does mock herself. However, if he is real rather than imagined, given her off-hand behaviour as reported in her column in the DM, I would wonder why he would keep up a relationship with her. She seems to do nothing but push him away.
In last DM column - on Sunday - she did say that he was brought up in slums - that might help with determining who he is if indeed he is not but a figment of her imagination!
