to be wondering (a lot) what Robert Plant's first date with Liz Jones would be like?

There's another thread open right now speculating about Liz Jones' 'rock star boyfriend'. RP's name keeps on coming up and I find it partly horrifying and partly hilarious Grin Wiser people than me seem to think it's definitely not him but it's still giving me food for thought....

Is she capable of talking about anything other than handbags and facelifts? How long before his lovely chilled-out demeanour cracks and he wants to put his head in the oven? Ooooh to be a fly on the wall..... Grin

alistron1 if he is literally your Robert, then my whole fantasy life will have been a joke Grin

TeenieLeek · 02/08/2011 12:07

Hmm, interesting. I must admit to reading la Jones' work out of a prurient fascination for seeing quite how much more bonkers she can possibly become, and I was interested to note her reference to "called my boyfriend' in a fashion piece the other day, but the fact that she had been writing about him for a year had totally passed me by. Since the Daily Mail Online website is the gold standard for intrustive celebrity spying and their interest is most definitely not confined to young and glamorous slebs, we have clearly been saved the pics of "Jim Kerr stepping out with his new love" to preserve interest in the crazy Lady's demented scribblings. I reckon it must be him, he has form for tolerating veganism (Chrissie Hynde - talk about abandoning your Glaswegian culinary roots! ....) And the Live Aid pedigree might explain the sudden extremely questionable interest in Somalia.

Good luck to them, how any man could possibly stand being written about to that extent I have no idea, though she and her ex were as bad as each other IMHO.

Well quite frankly I´m Shock and disappointed that RP is being mentioned in the same sentence as LJ

susiedotcom · 02/08/2011 13:26

I'd never heard of Liz Jones before now, but I do see Robert Plant out quite frequently in Worcester (well, DH does now that I never go out after dark...) He's the loveliest, coolest, friendliest guy ever and I can't believe he'd go out with the woman I've just been reading about. I'm quite pleased (and a bit surprised) to see so many RP fans on here though.

catgirl1976 · 02/08/2011 13:28

Lets all hope for Robert's sake that it's Jim.

diddl · 02/08/2011 13:44

Surprised, susie?

Surely you can´t mean that there exist persons who are not RP fans?Shock

Grin
HedleyLamarr · 02/08/2011 13:47

I've just seen a photo of La Jones. Now I'm scared AND scarred. Now, I admit I'm no oil painting (maybe a Picasso, at a pinch), but in my defence my face didn't cost £13500.

MirandaGoshawk · 02/08/2011 13:48

Mandy thanks. Shock

It can't be RP. He's too.... cerebral fanciable

JosieRosie · 02/08/2011 14:05

Awww that's lovely susiedotcom - I knew he was a good egg Grin. Nice to have it confirmed!

I wonder where the rumour of it being him came from?

laloue · 02/08/2011 20:46

last sighting, about a week ago, round these parts he was with a blonde...

katkitya · 02/08/2011 20:55

Oh, I bet there's no shortage of women around him!! Are 63 years old still up for it though? (I don't know why I'm asking that as it's my fathers age and, I don't really want to dwell on it). Liz isn't his type. She's too uptight, bless het. I'm sticking with Jim.

MogTheForgetfulCat · 02/08/2011 21:10

Apparently RS-boyfriend has 'piggy eyes' - so cannot be RP, must be JK. Case now closed as far as I am concerned, am going to return RP unsullied to the corner of my torpid imagination whence he came, may he remain there for ever Grin

MirandaGoshawk · 02/08/2011 21:11

I would think RP is!

Hmm Unless the blonde is his nurse.

deliciousdevilwoman · 02/08/2011 21:53

Jim Kerr, has a daughter, Yasmin, with Chrissie Hynde, who would be abnout 26. I googled and she's pregnant!! It's Jim.

katkitya · 02/08/2011 22:09

That's what I meant. There's 63 and there's Robert Plant. There's 63 and, there's my father. I suspect one gets the ladies more than the other! Would you, though really? He's 63!!!

Animation · 02/08/2011 22:15

Yeah, definately Jim!

Clarence15 · 03/08/2011 07:30

But but but....Jim Kerr? Surely surely it couldn't be him? Not when he's previously been married to Chrissie Hynde AND Patsy Kensit? Mind you Simple Minds have been touring at festivals this year, and he has got piggy eyes Hmm

GentlemanGin · 03/08/2011 07:48

Robert Plant has far too much integrity to go out with that sorry excuse.

My money's on someone like Gary Glitter.

redheadbedhead · 03/08/2011 08:13

i clicked on this thread an hour ago and since then I can't stop reading articles about/by Liz Jones. Boy, she is one special lady. I didn't even know who she was until this morning.

Now I need help. Is there some sort of specialist private doctor costing lots of money that I can see to help me with my Liz Jones addiction? or just knock my face about a bit til I look like someone else?

CupcakesandTwunting · 03/08/2011 09:28

"Getting a bit mean this thread."

Yeah but... she deserted her own mother when she was very ill with dementia. By her own amission, she wouldn't leave her cats when sick. Hmm She is rude, rude, rude about service workers, rude about poor people, rude about homeless people, the list goes on.

I reckon she can hack it.

My theory is this: she's finally gone loop-the-fucking-loop. She had a banging great crush on poor Jim Kerr FOREVER. She is constructing a fantasy and documenting it to make us think that she is boffing JK. She isn't boffing anyone. If I was Jim Kerr and reading this drivel, I'd be worried. I really don't think it's true (for the reasons I said previously) and it is all the working of her warped little brain.

I think it's time for Liz to go and have a lie-down in a dark room.

CupcakesandTwunting · 03/08/2011 09:28

Amission? Admission, obviously.

catgirl1976 · 03/08/2011 09:29

If I was Jim Kerr I would be applyling for the restraining order right away!

Animation · 03/08/2011 10:09

If it's not true then it IS a bit perverse.

Like sexual harrassment.

Doesn't seem to have boundaries when it comes to writing about other people.
