any news op?

CreepyWeeBrackets · 30/07/2011 22:13

We'll need a likely contentious AIBU thread to post on, each holding opposing views and confuddling the hell out of everyone reading it.

And to gain in strength and numbers.

CreepyWeeBracketsUser · 30/07/2011 22:18

we'll need to keep an eye out or sereptuciously start one, yes that is spelt very badly just ignore it i refuse to google a word i am only using once for one maybe mention tortoise emoticon pros and cons etc etc ..

CreepyWeeBracketsUser · 30/07/2011 22:23

we must make ourselves known to be powerful and wise pushing it with me on board and set an agenda for complete global MN takeover

InfestationofLannisters · 30/07/2011 22:27

DS is being a sod so I will have to de-cloak for now. Best not say anything else for now and plot behind scenes.

Grin at tortoise emoticons. <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.com/imgres?q=tortoise&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=lfc&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&biw=1920&bih=921&tbm=isch&prmd=ivnsul&tbnid=-m0Fh3yJPYK_4M:&imgrefurl=animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/reptiles/galapagos-tortoise/&docid=jUXLvb7UWVSgeM&w=600&h=450&ei=BXc0TuSJKMqs8gPzkuGhDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=167&vpy=116&dur=188&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=137&ty=95&page=1&tbnh=112&tbnw=152&start=0&ndsp=61&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">This could be the new bat!

CreepyWeeBracketsUser · 30/07/2011 22:34

bloody fantastic tortoise we shall insist upon it! i really ought to de-cloak i may wait till morning. hope your DS settles soon :)

GetOrfMoiLand · 30/07/2011 23:17

What's wrong with that? I AM a self-reverential wanker.

CreepyWeeBracketsUser · 30/07/2011 23:18

i dont wank :(

TheBigJessie · 31/07/2011 00:02

"The OP hasn't posted for 39 minutes and 42 seconds! I think she's a troll..."

Some people can't sit in front of the computer all day. A lot of MNers have responsibilities (like, erm, children). Just because someone can't sit pressing F5 repeatedly is no reason to dismiss them as fictions dreamt up by a "hairy handed trucker"!

Whatmeworry · 31/07/2011 00:15

......thinks t shirt is mandatory for club members!

burgerclub · 31/07/2011 04:54

I don't get the angle bracket hate Confused Surely using to denote action X is just a carry-over from forums that use type coding? There's a strong possibility that I'm just missing the point, of course.

fastweb · 31/07/2011 06:48

Grin

You are right burgerclub

StealthPolarBear · 31/07/2011 07:02

Is that not just HTML?

fastweb · 31/07/2011 07:06

Is that not just HTML?

Yes, some forums had\have html enabled posting.

but these days more likely to have forum specific code (like MN), or edit buttons (netmums ?).

StealthPolarBear · 31/07/2011 07:10

yes but all I meant was it's not some special forum languge, it's just a markup language used for lots of web pages
(or do they all need to be HTML to be rendered?)

fastweb · 31/07/2011 07:24

(or do they all need to be HTML to be rendered?)

I think so, but am far from an expert, all the CSS stuff left me V.V. confused and I am very out of date.

Whatmeworry · 31/07/2011 08:30

.....now wants a t shirt with on :o

fastweb · 31/07/2011 08:50

fastweb · 31/07/2011 11:56

but I was thinking a bit more space between the wee brackets

It wouldn't let me.

I even tried ......... in white to space the tags out, but no dice.

TattyDevine · 31/07/2011 14:33

I thought of another!!!!

4x4 threads. Some mouldy peasant with a 2006 Reg Ford Focus will start to bleat about how crap the big gas guzzling gangsta-mobiles are and how dangerous they are and how there really is no need. This will generally be met with a reliable trail of YANBU's until the Botox and Blow-dry bars close for the afternoon and all the tiny blonde women will hog the road home, trees wilting in their wake, and log on and retaliate with something about how they were the only person in the whole of Chester who could get about all of last winter with the snow and how they saved the lives of hundreds by basically performing the role of ambulance driver, snow plough and grocery getter to the entire village. Plus they are safer and when it comes to Jonty and Jocasta, no car is too safe.

The unfortunate 2 wheel-drive owning povs will come back with what about our Jayden and Kloe, I bet you can't even see them out the back window you are so high up its ridiculous.

Someone will pipe up about this remarkable new concept, the cutting edge technology that is rear parking sensors

A lengthy discussion on whether or not they have ever gone off road or had mud appear on their tyres will ensue. Someone flings a Joules welly in disgust. It all gets kinda ugly and eventually the thread gets pulled...

LadyBeagleEyes · 31/07/2011 16:36

How about:
"Ive got a fractured skull and a broken leg and also D and V and swine flu.
Should I go into work tomorrow, I've never, ever had a day of work in my life and would really feel guilty about letting everybody down"?
followed by
"Of course you should go in, you're just looking for an excuse, if I was your employer I'd be furious. I have gone into work with a lot worse,."
Also applies to six foot snowdrifts ("well, why didn't you walk, it's only 50 miles, YABU") etc., etc.
