Horrible histories and shaun the sheep, who needs grown up telly (don't need cd just put request in to my dd's who have learned all songs from you tube).

mablemurple · 26/07/2011 22:48

There is a bit in the kings and queens song where one of them slides in and falls over - I'm sure he wasn't meant to do that, but it makes me pmsl. Love the Charles II and Dick Turpin songs.

PortBlacksandIsleOfDogs · 26/07/2011 22:53

Yes - George IV when he is with Queen Victoria....that guy is hilarious - i think he is the pan / goat person on a mobile phone (?) ad too.

And he and some of the others crop up in Mitchell and Webb and Armstrong and Miller sketches....Grin

I'm feeling the HH love here. It's wonderful. Let's get emailing, the Beeb are usually on top of fleecing the parental types so I have no idea how they've not already done this:)

Ben Willbond's FB page says that the BBC are working on a CD, but are struggling to get all the rights issues sorted out ATM.
Fingers crossed.

I've just indulged in the Kings & Queens and Dick Turpin Blush.
Thanks anyway Grin.

MavisGrind · 26/07/2011 23:24

No stalking there Pip....

There is something about Matthew Baynton isn't there. He really does have the body of someone who should be introduced to pies but he has that - in the words of King Philip of Spain " I'm so baaaad"...

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 26/07/2011 23:29

I have to say, I wouldBlush

I have resisted the urge to 'like' .

As I said before - I wouldn't be picky. They all look like they are having so much fun. That's why I like the Knight's Song with Steven Punt looking like something out of Monty Python and sniggering all over the place.

Fecklessdizzy · 27/07/2011 00:31

Mmmm ... Dick Turpin Bloke ... Oh yes you would. Grin Well, I would anyway!

They have an episode that's just songs, it was on today. I like Perfect Deaths myself, SO catchy! DP rocks out to William Wallace and the DC's duet on the Mad Georges one ... Top telly.

MaliChips · 27/07/2011 00:35

Oh am I glad that I'm not the only parent who enjoys (some) kids tv :)

Fecklessdizzy · 27/07/2011 00:35

P.S. Also LURVE Shaun The Sheep song ... God, I'm sad!

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 27/07/2011 11:52

I will be humming stupid deaths for the next hour now. Ack!

MuddlingMackem · 28/07/2011 17:43

Just seen this - a campaign to get Horrible Histories as the Christmas number one. Guess this is definitely planning ahead. Grin

Sorry, it's on the loathed Facebook.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 30/07/2011 11:03

I played the William Wallace song to a friend of the Scottish persuasion who is a history teacher. She may have had a snortle or threeGrin

I suppose our holiday "homework" so far has consisted of learning all the kings and queens - all DCs can do it - very handy!

Whenever I see Mathew Baynton, I think "Have him washed and sent to my room!"

Greenshadow · 30/07/2011 11:56

Currently listening to the Horrid History Proms live on Radio 3.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 30/07/2011 14:36

procrasinator I feel the same about the Dick Tturpin dude!
My dd always shouts me when that bit comes on and we dance about together.
My granny always maintained that he rode past near where she lived, Dick Turpin, not the guy on the telly. Obviously it was before she was born .

HarleyQuinn · 30/07/2011 15:05

Me and my DD (7) love this! I love the Dick Turpin,King Richard III and the Aztec songs, larry's "yeaahh" cracks me up.
Have quite a crush on Jim, Ben and Simon and I think Martha (cleopatra) is very pretty too!
