DiddyDragon is 2.10 and has been dry at nursery (pretty much) for a few months now. Sadly for us, she's refusing to cooperate at home. Today was day one of home toilet bootcamp & I'm completely fucked off with the whole thing already. She's obviously ready as does it no problem at nursery, so why the hell won't she replicate this success when she leaves there?

Accidents - 2, including one 30 seconds after promising faithfully she didn't need to go.

Successful use of toilet - zero.

This would seem to suggest she's deliberately holding it so as not to have to go.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

You are a braver Mum than I for getting the playdough out in the first place Smile And being able to find some that hasn't already dried up !

You lot are making me feel so much better. :)

I think I'm just going to carry on with knickers in the house, pull ups when we go shopping & on long journeys and just assume that she'll stop being a little monkey at some point & cooperate.

Actually have found it painless. DD is 2.5 and was trained two weeks ago. Offered her the chance to wear 'big girl pants' and she was delighted. I had no intention of staying in for the weekend so we headed out for coffee the next morning - I told her she'd wear a nappy just in case. Got home and it was dry and we haven't looked back. Have had one accident, on the first day but other than that all has been fine. She is in a nursery during the week and no problems there either. Had been dreading it too.

what tanya Byron said wasn't based on any emprirical evidence though, was it?

No?

Update - DiddyDragon has finally caved today and done not one, but 2 wees on the toilet, all by herself. She has had no accidents. I think this is the breakthrough we were waiting for.
