I claim tax credits and could work more than I do but choose not to. I'm also pg with #5 which was unplanned and so will be claiming even more tax credits soon. Who wants to come and lecture me?

YANBU

If you are entitled to it, then why the hell not?

GypsyMoth · 08/07/2011 10:36

Lecture you about what? Where is the purpose to this thread? Are you bored?

not bored....just irritated by the sanctimonious tone of some of these threads!

perhaps a lecture on contraception Grin

but I'm not interested in your reluctance to work more than you do or your current financial situation. means nothing to me.

Why do you feel you need to brag about it in such a defiant manner though?

Hmm
CogitoErgoSometimes · 08/07/2011 10:40

YANBU to take advantage of Labour's 'cash for kids scheme'. Just don't expect the good times to keep rolling. Things have changed.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 08/07/2011 10:41

Don't get the point either. Your situation is your business. Not interested (in the nicest possible way) or bothered what you do. Your title does sound a bit ner ner ner ner ner, I agree with Velvet.

KidderminsterKate · 08/07/2011 10:42

lol at cash for kids......if only it were that simple.....they've cost me far more than i've 'earnt'

OP posts:
bumpybecky · 08/07/2011 10:44

herbie it's really not that simple - I could work, but then we'd be entitled to claim more tax credits due to the childcare

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 10:47

"they've cost me far more than i've 'earnt'"

brilliant - what a charmer you are. Your children should be proud of you Hmm

KidderminsterKate · 08/07/2011 10:49

yes... the 'earnt' is in response to the cash for kids comments

Is it my imagination, or does it appear that in general, those most dependent non welfare payments of whatever kind are also the most likely to have "unplanned pregnancies".

Could there be any link there ?

If DC and NC need to make welfare economies they need to remove the carrot (state funding element) here and increase the fear of the stick (i.e. the alternative to state stumping up more each time).

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 10:56

agree with hellospoon - OP is most likely just an eejit looking for a war of words.

weird way to get your jollies IMO.

aliceliddell · 08/07/2011 10:57

Delighted somebody is bringing up the children who will be spoon feeding me in 30 years time. Of course society should support you, child care is a vital job.

OpinionatedPlusSprogs · 08/07/2011 10:58

Have you written this OP beause you are feeling down on yourself and want a flaming?

I'm sure your situation is more complicated than that. Believe it or not there are worse crimes in this world than being a single mum on benefit.

jellybeans · 08/07/2011 11:02

YANBU for claiming tax credits or having another child. Raising kids should be valued more!

Bonsoir · 08/07/2011 11:03

Most people think that you shouldn't conceive more children than you can reasonably provide for.

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 11:06

but how dreadful of the children to cost her more than she's earnt

Perhaps we should have a whip round.....

MorticiaAddams · 08/07/2011 11:06

I'm not going to lecture you. When I read these sorts of posts it merely reinforces my feeling that I'm glad I'm not like that.

hf128219 · 08/07/2011 11:07

Apparently there's a government plan in the making that if 3 or more children are all by different fathers tax credits will be stopped.

Bonsoir · 08/07/2011 11:08

Really, hf? Immorality fines?

DuelingFanjo · 08/07/2011 11:11

I haven't got the time or energy to have a go at you. Sorry. Maybe someone else can be arsed?

Is it half term by the way?
