I claim tax credits and could work more than I do but choose not to. I'm also pg with #5 which was unplanned and so will be claiming even more tax credits soon. Who wants to come and lecture me?

Shall we start a thread just for that purpose? Im sure i'll end up being reminded of some shopping I was supposed to get in.

Yeah - start the shopping list reminder thread, Can this be a rolling thread aswell, it's something I would always check before shopping.

Even just for inspiration...

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 13:25

sevendwarves & triggles - do you think the manner in which the thread was started was in good taste? "This is what I'm doing and I don't care what you think so I dare you to come and lecture me because I'm up for a fight"

That's how I read it.

Like I said, I couldn't care less how many benefits che claims, how many children she has or whether she works or not.

My taxes will be the same regardless, what i do object to is the "fuck off if you don't like it" attitude (which has clearly been deleted so if you are late to the thread then you are not getting a true reading)

janey68 · 08/07/2011 13:25

Ha ha you'll be screwed then op, come the worse cuts. And if your highest aspiration is raising your kids to work the minimum they can and to get topped up by state handouts (well, whatever handouts might exist in the future!) then I feel pretty sorry for them. Most Of us aspire to better for our kids

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/07/2011 13:26

What is the point of this dull thread other than to cause the 8753th benefits claimants row on mumsnet?

I can't be fucked to join in. Does anyone want to talk about cat food?

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 13:27

GetOrf - my dd ate a cat biscuit yesterday Blush

SortingHardHat · 08/07/2011 13:29

No but I am happy to discuss the virtues of buttery crackers.

I Used to LOVE eating cat biscuits and bonios when i was a kid.

What are they made of? Cruhed up cow bones? Who knows, but it never did me any harm

Is it OK do you reckon to feed 10 week old kittens on biscuits? I hate having wet cat food hanging around in this heat.

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 13:38

GetOrf - the biscuits would need to be kitten biscuits of course, (because of little kitten teeth not being strong enough) but I dont see the problem in feeding dry food.

I fed my kitten on dry food for a few months when she was having treatment (as advised by the vet) did her no harm.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/07/2011 13:41

Thanks - yes they are kitten biscuits, but DP and DD are wringing their hands at me because they think I am being harsh and cruel and not giving them tins of food.

It bloody stinks as well.

Ishani · 08/07/2011 13:41

My friend was a single mum in 2005 and coping ok, she's now had another baby by another man (obviously) 7 weeks later they've split up she can't make ends meet, times are a changing.

HowlingBitch · 08/07/2011 13:45

I have never tasted lurpak! DP goes pale at the thought of not buying the butter that is on offer . Is is worth the extra 25p?

ebbandflow · 08/07/2011 13:45

GetOrf- you have just reminded me I used to eat those chocolate buttons for dogs when i was little, they tasted of nothing.

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 13:49

Lurpak is definitely worth it, IMO - a big massive knob on a slice of toasted crusty bread Grin

pink4ever · 08/07/2011 13:50

I would love to have 5 dcs. Sadly as we dont get any benefits(other than cb which we will lose in 2013) so we cant afford to have any more dcsSad.

Those chocolate dog buttons were YUM.

But not as nice as bonios.

I had a friend who snacked on Trill.

HowlingBitch · 08/07/2011 13:58

You all sound barking.

Booooooo.

perfumedlife · 08/07/2011 14:07

I think Lurpak tastes like lard Shock My mother ladles it on everything.

I love Kerrygold. Anyone else like Kerrygold?

Triggles · 08/07/2011 14:14

GetOrf - of course not - we have a dog! Grin Now if we're going to discuss dog food......

Velvetsnow - perhaps not. But then, maybe she too is fed up with people thinking that people should hide the fact that they are receiving benefits and be all subservient about it. Clearly you have gotten your feathers ruffled that she is rather outspoken about it.... why is that?

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 08/07/2011 14:14

Lakeland is gorgeous.............Kerrygold nice too though Perfume although in our house when the DH and DS revolt against Flora Light we indulge in Anchor!!
