I claim tax credits and could work more than I do but choose not to. I'm also pg with #5 which was unplanned and so will be claiming even more tax credits soon. Who wants to come and lecture me?

Trolling.

Good for you that you can do this, you are very fortunate. Enjoy.

VelvetSnow · 08/07/2011 17:22

fanjobanjowanjo, the title translates to

I do what I like, say what I like, don't care what you say, who wants to fight about it

It's amazing how some people appear to be ok, and then bang! they start a thread and all your initail thoughts of "they seem ok" go right out the window.

Regardless of what the context of this thread is about, I just don't like people who act all defiant and are prepared to cause a fight in an empty house.

And OP - the fuck you attitude you referred to is not actually what I said.
I said your "fuck off if you don't like it" attitude, which in actual fact you did type somewhere up thread - but this was deleted.

vhappymumma2b · 08/07/2011 17:22

Well said Lunar.

AlpinePony · 08/07/2011 17:34

"you don't know me you don't know nuffink about me".

Delightful. A credit to society and passing on that intelligence via her genes.

Pssst rocket scientist - people do know about you when you post your dreary, depressing, soul-destroying life story in your op. Hth.

ScarlettIsWalking · 08/07/2011 17:52

Jealous of you? My God what a joke!

Your life sounds absolutely horrific, my worst nightmare to be true. Do you really think people would be jealous of such a pitiful situation. I am shocked.

tiredemma · 08/07/2011 17:56

bothered.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 08/07/2011 18:08

Fucking hell, is there any need to be so harsh, she has 5 kids, works as a school nurse and claims what she is entitled to. Maybe if people got paid decent wages, more than benefits they would work full time.

How does the ops life sound horrific. What has she said that makes it sound horrific?

KidderminsterKate · 08/07/2011 18:10

I'm just doing the best I can, probably like us all. If my life is so shit then why the resentment towards me and other people who are claim CTC?

how many of you clam tax credits??? Because I pay taxes too and far more than I get in CTC and my CB put together. And seriously, does anybody really think that if I personally did not claim CTC thenthat money would go to people with disabilities?!

What a vile, nasty place MN can be sometimes.......I would never dream of telling anybody their life was pitiful or soul destroying even over the anonymity of a computer screen. Is your life perfect?

OP posts:
lachesis · 08/07/2011 18:37

Having 5 kids is my idea of hell unless I were mega, mega rich.

Not everyone wants to have that many children no matter what their means.

I can understand that not everone wants 5 children and would struggle with that regardless, that sentiment doesn't offend me at all......but that is not what the other posters were saying.

what is it that I wanted? oh I dont even know anymore. Just that some of the sentiments that have been expressed on the board lately have got right up my nose...pious and condescending when it comes to claiming benefits and how everyone should work full time/ improve their earning potential blah blah blah........usually from people who's OH earn a packet or from those who have HUGE mortgage and debt repayments because they have over commited themselves and have to work full time.

and you know the judgements I've received in response are vile e.g. "you dunno nuffink about mehhhhh" what do you think that implies?

kate why did you create this thread?

KidderminsterKate · 08/07/2011 19:18

I honestly dont know now. Am totally confuddled. The only thing I do know is that I am doing my very best for my family and my children are happy, healthy and well adjusted.

OP posts:
Fifis25StottieCakes · 08/07/2011 19:31

I think people think money=happiness sometimes. Even if somones dirt poor they can have a happy life and intelligent kids. It doesnt matter as long as you do the best you can for the kids you have Kate. I know some wealthy parents and their kids are as miserable as sin. Me and my 4 brothers were brought up on a council estate dirt poor. My 3 dd's have always worked and have well paid jobs. I have always worked up until the last few months. It doesnt mean my kids are neglected as they have to do without.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 08/07/2011 19:31

*my 3 DB's

SmilingandWaving · 08/07/2011 19:53

So does MN class me as a 'scrounger' then? I work 21 hours a week & claim CB & TC. If I worked more I'd have to put (unplanned) 6 month old DS in some kind of childcare which would cost more than I earn.

I'd never thought of myself as a 'drain on society' before. Don't most people get TC?

capricorn76 · 08/07/2011 20:11

I do have an issue with very large families but I'm not going to go there as I was flamed last time and called an annoying carbon footprint person by someone with 8 kids. However, your OP was worded in a way which would only cause an argument. I really feel for you though because once the government finish cutting, life will be very hard for your family.

Georgimama · 08/07/2011 20:13

Don't most people get TC?

No, they don't. Not in households where both partners work, anyway. I think currently a household income of £50,000 gross is too much to receive CTC. Definitely far too much for WTC.

KaraJS · 08/07/2011 20:14

I've seen the other threads as well op and yes it does seem that all the tax credit bashers have dp s that earn a packet, there is nothing wrong with working and claiming tax credits, up until recently I was single, working, training to be a nurse and claiming tc, it really pisses me off when people make judgements! I pay taxes too!

I don't know anyone who eanrs %)k, must move in the wrong circles

cjbartlett · 08/07/2011 20:20

50k I mean

Georgimama · 08/07/2011 20:24

50k gross earned household income - that's two adults on 25k a piece. It's not that much.

cjbartlett · 08/07/2011 20:28

ah yes I see
should have said I know of no 1 person who earns 50k
