gaunt shouted just like a sun headline. It must be really noisy working at a red top. grant has never appealed in any film or in any way to me but yeah i can definitely see the appeal now.

AnyF · 08/07/2011 12:28

Gaunt just shouted headlines

Douglas Alexander looks like a particularly petite penguin

AnyF · 08/07/2011 12:29

ha! cross post manitz Grin

superjobeespecs · 08/07/2011 12:30

i watched for about 40 mins and have to say hg did a great job he was funny witty smart and very clever with his answers and little digs Grin plus he did look pretty gorgeous Blush he gets better looking the older he gets :) yum..

hollyw · 08/07/2011 12:43

He was fab wasn't he. Looked good but more to the point I think he did a great job of getting his points across. Wasn't watching properly as I was browsing on the laptop but he just seemed so much more polished than any of the mps (who should be used to public speaking) and thought he handled the reference to his prostitute mishap v. well. Don't know who it was that threw that in but he came off the worse for mentioning it!

AwesomePan · 08/07/2011 12:45

it was Mr Shouty Man, who clearly primed himself to raise it at some point in the evening.

Ziggimajiggi · 08/07/2011 12:46

Hugh Grant for Prime Minister!

milkybarkidsgirlfriend · 08/07/2011 12:49

I have always said I would too, which means I have a right to be near the front of the long Hugh Queue!

manitz · 08/07/2011 12:58

great minds anyf. Grin

grant is pretty and has aged very well, is posh and well educated and is not a politician. All aspects that are going to make him much much more appealing than anyone else there. He was great on the hacking stuff but didn't think much of his little britain answer on the purchasing issue went back into a small minded tabloid box there a bit for me, shirl was more reasonable. Shame. Think the bombardier thing is a bit of a red herring.

uninspired · 08/07/2011 13:20

I just went on to iplayer to watch it, thinking it would be really difficult to find, but no, it's on the most popular list.

I wonder why [drool]

springydaffs · 08/07/2011 13:30

He's a bit depressed though, no? His eyes look really sad.

AwesomePan · 08/07/2011 13:31

do you think he needs a bit of a 'pick-me-up'?

ebbandflow · 08/07/2011 13:35

Just watched it now on Iplayer, he performed really well considering he openly admits to suffering from stage fright. I hope it encourages more people to watch Question Time.

DawnTiggaFashionGoddess · 08/07/2011 13:40

Might have had a small hoo! moment last night watching him.

Have to say that Hugh Grant (public school and Oxford) impresses me a lot more than David Cameron (public school and Oxford).

If you are looking in Hugh, may I suggest you stand for Parliament?

Come on man, you always said acting was something you fell into. Maybe you could fall into politics next.

heleninahandcart · 08/07/2011 13:47

Awesome I love that link you posted. Especially the scream at the end from the Pap

LineRunner · 08/07/2011 13:48

Celebrities mostly crash and burn on QT. Does anyone remember the fucking shambles that was Carol Vordeman?

Hugh Grant was excellent. Relaxed enough without appearing louche, sharp enough without appearing bitter, and articulate enough to make sure Dimbleby didn't cut him off too often.

Gaunt came across as, literally, barking.

I like Shirley Williams.

AwesomePan · 08/07/2011 13:49

yes I thought it was a nice touch as an ending too!

snurk at the skirt vote. Boy your brave,MB!

Malificence · 08/07/2011 13:51

How can anyone fancy a man who has paid a drug addled prostitute to suck his cock in a car?

He's vile.

vogonmothership · 08/07/2011 13:54

He makes a better orator than actor
Politics his next step?

catgirl1976 · 08/07/2011 13:54

I would do it for free Malificence

catgirl1976 · 08/07/2011 13:54

Especially if he took his glasses on and off and made incisive and witty political comment whilst I was doing it.

ThePrincessRoyalFiggyrolls · 08/07/2011 13:55

I did fancy him up until Malificence's post. You managed to kick some sense into me Grin in general though he is a bit of a pillock (leaving pubs without paying his bar tab anyone?)

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 08/07/2011 14:00

There is a difference between thinking and doing him

starmucks · 08/07/2011 14:04

I've just watched him on iPlayer. He was brilliant. Informed, articulate, consistent, unafraid in his questioning and criticism. Yes, I would.
