on Question Time. He is brilliant.

if you wish to call small-minded bitterness an opinion then you are welcolme to it. Most other people think a bit more broadly, and have a notion of balance and 'redemption' (if needed to, which I mentioned to you this afternoon - with no effect apparently.)

Nancy66 · 08/07/2011 00:24

Awesome - you speak like I know you.
I'm not bitter - I just think HG is a self-serving twat.

AwesomePan · 08/07/2011 00:38

??

okay. I think a self-serving twat would not put himself out there, would remain burrowed, and not inform himself of the wider implications of what is before us in the way he has. This evening he only spoke of his immediate concerns when prompted to.

But we differ.

AwesomePan · 08/07/2011 00:49

Ah, I see that you were a journalist on the NOTW!

So who is seen as the self-serving *twat" now?

Very sloppy posting, nancy.

NerfHerder · 08/07/2011 00:58

You see that where pan?

AwesomePan · 08/07/2011 01:03

on another thread about 10 mins ago.

the one about the Guardian taking some time to celebrate, for a change.

VforViennetta · 08/07/2011 01:04

He was great tonight and I was slightly drawn tbh, never considered it before but yep I would Grin. I do actually think this whole notw thing is a storm in a teacup as was the ministers expense scandal, it will be top news for ooh a week then brushed under the carpet, people have a short attention span.

springydaffs · 08/07/2011 01:22

come on girls, pack it in

HG is a shit. HOw do I know? I'm always attracted to shits

herecomesthsun · 08/07/2011 04:18

Why is HG vulnerable at the moment?

PrincessJenga · 08/07/2011 07:09

Hugh Grant for PM? He'd be brilliant.. Surely doing it on Love Actually is experience enough?

follyfoot · 08/07/2011 07:22

Even my DD (17) couldnt take her eyes off him. Imagine getting tickets to Question Time expecting the normal panel and walking in to that vision. Sigh.

BettyDrapersWardrobeElf · 08/07/2011 07:23

Just watching it on iplayer. John Gaunt is exactly what I would expect from a Sun journo. What a cock. He keeps shouting and talking in headlines, obviously loving the sound of his own voice. It's as though he is waiting for a standing ovation at the end of each pointless rant stating the bloody obvious.

Love HG, he is marvellous.

AnyFucker · 08/07/2011 07:30

you bloody shallow lot Grin

erm yes, I would < ahem >

ShoutyHamster · 08/07/2011 07:35

He's a cutie pops, but in ten years I predict more than a fleeting resemblance to CLIFF RICHARD.

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 08/07/2011 07:40

Get in the queue hugh grant anyfucker Grin

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/07/2011 07:40

Shouty - nooooooooooooooo!

ShoutyHamster · 08/07/2011 07:44

Do you not think? He's beginning to look well preserved. Just a bit. And all neat headed.

But it was just a momentary shudder. He is edible. And I very much enjoyed him being all incisive and dashing (until I fell asleep with my mouth open and missed the end).

wigglesrock · 08/07/2011 07:46

Mr W was working last night, he came in at midnight and his first words to me in bed were "Hugh Grant was on QT tonight and he was bloody brilliant", (he can watch tv in work) Think he may have a slight crush on him now.

AmandaCooper · 08/07/2011 07:49

YADNBU. HG was fantastic!

Wamster · 08/07/2011 08:06

It's no surprise that the guy is bright, if it is anything to go by; he is an Oxford graduate so he should have a good brain. I think he is very intelligent the way that he has accumulated a lot of money from basically playing the same role. Maybe it was so that he could follow his real path at a later date.

We do seem to have a bit of a problem equating brains with good looks in this country for some reason.

BitOfFun · 08/07/2011 08:18

I know, I am consistently under-estimated, Wamster.

wigglesrock · 08/07/2011 08:20

Grin BitOfFun

MoreBeta · 08/07/2011 08:36

HG is a very bright man and according to his Wikipedia entry is both anti-celebrity culture and multi talented. He did a good job last night and it reminded me a lot of the way that Joanna Lumley very successfully pushed forward the Gurkha campaign.

Tee2072 · 08/07/2011 08:36

I don't particularly like HG but I wanted to snog him when he called Mr Politician Man on being at Murdoch's party.

melika · 08/07/2011 08:45

He did a lot of good for Macmillan nurses, he is not a bad bloke, not a bad bloke indeed!
