i'm 9 weeks pregnant.. i have a 9 month old baby, a 27 month old toddler and a 9 year old with aspergers... so far ive had

"you'll probably lose it anyway with thm being so close together" that gem was from my mum
"how will you cope"
"you need to stop breastfeeding" (i tandem the 2 littlies)
"if you dont stop bf you will lose the baby"
"do you think you will cope"
"do you not think it would be better for you not to have a baby yet?"
"you better get toddler into nursery"

im pretty hormonal atm, just want someone to say something positive, im starting to dread telling people :(

Onemorning · 29/06/2011 22:44

Congratulations! Grin

princessglitter · 29/06/2011 22:45

Congratulations :) I had 'you're joking' and MIL not commenting for 5 months with my 3rd. Mine are 19 months, 3 and 5.

Terraviva · 29/06/2011 22:45

Congratulations!! :)

Fairenuff · 29/06/2011 22:45

Congratulations. YANBU Those are thoughtless comments, take no notice of them. Good luck and let us know when the baby arrives.

queenmaeve · 29/06/2011 22:45

Congratulations! Ive heard crap like that often. Just smile and remember their comments are really about them and not you Smile

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/06/2011 22:45

CongratulationsGrin

EggyAllenPoe · 29/06/2011 22:46

congratulations!
i loved the busy-ness of having 3 in 3 years (though not twins!) - it was great.

doodledaisy · 29/06/2011 22:46

Congratulations, I'm very jealous, for a number of reasons we are stopping at two. You're very lucky to be having another one. I hope your pregnancy goes well and that it works out well. What do you have so far? Boys or girls? The joy of having them so close together is that they will play together. And it must be hard work having a nine year old with aspergers, but you sound like you love being a mum. Congratulations.

AgentZigzag · 29/06/2011 22:47

Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS Smile Smile

Secondly Shock and Angry at the disgusting things said to you.

What horrible, spiteful things to say, I'm feel so sorry for you having to hear them.

Don't dread telling people, those comments are unacceptable, and it wouldn't be fair to judge everyone on those base standards.

I think you're really lucky to have such lovely aged babies all around you Grin

biddysmama · 29/06/2011 22:47

CongratulationsSmile!

You are doing a wonderful job.

Your 2 littlies are not close together btw - perfectly reasonable age gap. And there is a bit of a gap to your oldest; what is it, people want??

Ignore, ignore, ignore all the unhelpful stoopid comments.
And of course listen to all the wise MN Grin.

Bohica · 29/06/2011 22:49

Nah, whats not to congratulate!

You have a family of young childreen that will have common interests & grow up close in a loving family enviroment.

Congratulations btw [smie]

doodledaisy · 29/06/2011 22:50

Well whatever you have, hope it all goes well. (secretly wishes it was her that was having another).

PogueMahone · 29/06/2011 22:51

Congratulations!
Lovely having the younger ones close together - they'll be such good friends.

PeopleCallMeTricky · 29/06/2011 22:51

Congratulations! They'll never be short of someone to play with. They'll entertain themselves a lot of the time.

elliejjtiny · 29/06/2011 22:51

Congratulations. I got pregnant with ds3 when DS1 was nearly 4 and DS2 had just turned 2. DS1 has mild ASD and DS2 has mobility problems. I wanted to have dc3 before DS2 got too heavy for a pregnant woman to lift but people thought I was mad. Yes it's hard but it's also brilliant.

PacificDogwood · 29/06/2011 22:52

FWIW, I had 12 month age gap, then 4 years, then 2 years - all boys Grin.

Just think of all the comments I got about 'needing to have another to get a girl' 'you must be soooo disappointed' 'how will you cope' 'you must be mad' etc ad nauseam. People do suffer from foot-in-mouth disease quite often when they don't know what to say...

pissedrightoff · 29/06/2011 22:56

CONGRATULATIONS, :)

riomoonlight · 29/06/2011 22:56

congratulations and bigs hugs.
All babies are blessing whenever they come.

but what i want to know is how do you have the energy for sex? does it come in tablet form and where do i get? says very tired mother of 1 10month old!

GibberingGinger · 29/06/2011 22:58

Congratulations!

I think people are probably a bit shocked cause your littlest one is 9 months, and they think of a newborn arriving into your current environment, but they forget that pregnancy takes a LONG time and babies/toddlers develop really quickly so your situation will be completely different when the new baby arrives. Just smile and say "well, I'm really pleased"

Congratulations again, babies are lovely, and the three youngest children will be great friends hopefully. And the oldest can relish in his "older brother" role
