The Non-Feminist Point of View

JamesHuff · 29/06/2011 15:00

I have noticed over the last while that the Feminist section has grown over the last bit.

This does not surprise me, but I feel compelled to ask why this site has begun to ascribe to a sociopolitical ideology when it was originally a resource for parents.

I think that as a result of this discrepancy, non-feminist points of view should have their own section as well. I hope people who disagree with inequalities feminism has created within our legislation will be compelled to express themselves more often.

I don't see it as unreasonable. Since there will be disagreements on various topics, I just figure a non-feminist based section would be in order. This way parents have a choice that reflects both sides of the coin.

Could you please define the term non-feminism?

Hullygully · 29/06/2011 15:40

There once was a man named JamesHuff
Whose beard was just like a muff
He got very cross
At his sad facial moss
And said women were wankers and stuff

Ormirian · 29/06/2011 15:40

You want a sensible answer to a stupid question?

OK. To most people on here saying you are a non-feminist is a bit like saying you are aren't really that bothered about racism and don't know what the fuss is all about and why is everyone so mean about those nice men in white robes and pointy hats. Feminism is about making life better for women. So what's to object to?

MillyR · 29/06/2011 15:40

Trillian, this is you on the new anti-feminism section

JamesHuff · 29/06/2011 15:40

You are making the assumption that anyone opposed to misandry and/or is a non-feminist is anti-equality.

What would the opposite of chat be? Sulky silence? Lots of pointed empty posts.

TrilllianAstra · 29/06/2011 15:41

There you go, you've had a number of sensible answers and a limmerick.

TandB · 29/06/2011 15:41

OP, could you change your name to Jamez please. The 's' no longer seems in keeping with the general zediness of the thread.

Ormirian · 29/06/2011 15:41

What are your thoughts on Mormons?

ShirleyKnot · 29/06/2011 15:43

Feminist does not equal Misandry anymore than Human Rights equals Death to ALL ALIENS.

HTH

Ormirian · 29/06/2011 15:44

Yes I am Mr Huff. And you are making the assumption that feminists are misandrists (misandrysts?).

ShirleyKnot · 29/06/2011 15:44

TandB · 29/06/2011 15:44

And I know his name is James but it didn't rhyme so now he is Bill, OK?

Hullygully · 29/06/2011 15:46

You get the dead tree then, Trills
