my nan says always rewash, but my mum says its okay but what if it has repeatedly rained i.e the last couple of days. Its only a duvet cover but when would you rewash?

JudysJudgement · 24/06/2011 20:26

never, unless the line snaps and it all falls in the mud

Onemorning · 24/06/2011 20:26

That depends? Did a bird poo on it? Is it whiffy?

If not, I'd probably not wash it. Grin

Grabaspoon · 24/06/2011 20:27

It's fine once but after that I would re-wash.

bibbitybobbityhat · 24/06/2011 20:28

Why have you left your duvet cover out for days in the rain?

I would rinse and spin after a light rain shower.

But if it had been soaked and hanging out there for more than a few hours - I would absolutely definitely re-wash.

LolaRennt · 24/06/2011 20:29

My god, it's water. It cleans! And it smells lovely!

Umami · 24/06/2011 20:31

What would you suggest if someone left their cake out in the rain?

I get it in at dusk or if it starts raining, but if it piddles down and I'm out I would rinse and spin it.

zelda1982 · 24/06/2011 20:35

If it got totally drenched i'd rewash. A little shower then i'd just stick it in the tumble :)

usualsuspect · 24/06/2011 20:35

never

bibbitybobbityhat · 24/06/2011 20:35

well it would be a tragedy if someone left their cake out in the rain

cos it took so long to bake it
and they'll never have that recipe again ...

...

AGGGAIIIINNNN

usualsuspect · 24/06/2011 20:36

never rewash I mean [lazy cow]

Umami · 24/06/2011 20:37

I appreciate the sentiments, Bibbity, but I need useful advice on what to do.

Tortington · 24/06/2011 20:38

would i fuckers like re- wash it =- its only fucking rain - it makes no sense

wash something in water to dry it

it gets more water on

erm

just wait til it dries - its not going to get dirty - you are all clearly insane fucking washing stuff if its been rained on you nut fuckers

ziptoes · 24/06/2011 20:40

Come on! Water dissolves cake. Water does not dissolve duvets.

Rainwater smells lovely. I'd leave it out until there was a dry day. Unless the volcano goes off again in which case it'd get all dusty and need another wash.

chipmonkey · 24/06/2011 20:40

But, you know, custy, apparently there is dirt in the rainwater.

I never rewash.

A question for those of you who are saying "re-wash, you must re-wash"........if you get caught in the rain without your umbrella, do you jump in the shower as soon as you get home?

microserf · 24/06/2011 21:20

depends if they are whiffy when they dry. or got the black streaks (London soot...)

although rewashed today as the sheets blew into DD's stinky algae infested water play table. urgh...

EricNorthmansMistress · 24/06/2011 21:23

never. They stay out there until they are fucking well dry, even if it takes a fucking week.

feckwit · 24/06/2011 21:24

I'd never rewash, rain is water... The washing machine contains water and detergent... The washing machine cleans it, the rain rinses it.

In fact, my washing is regularly rinsed a few times!

budgieshell · 24/06/2011 21:26

Duvet cover will not need re-washing it will be fine when dry. The cake I'm a bit more worried about, I mean it seems a shame to throw cake away, how about cake soup.

peeriebear · 24/06/2011 21:27

I put things on the line to be rained on! What is with the re-washing? The best stain remover I have ever found is a good rain then a good sun drying. Rain isn't toilet water you know.

ZillionChocolate · 24/06/2011 21:29

I'd never re-wash unless it looked dirty.
