When I had a car it was a bit of a gamble whether or not the hose would reach if I did from the wrong side (nice big estate with a stupidly placed fuel cap) but I'd still make an attempt if the queue for the others were ridiculously long, or even loop around and face the other way (so it was miraculously on the right side Grin) Logic and lateral thinking :P

It is embarrassing though when the hose doesn't quite reach...

Grin at typo.

I am one of these annoying 'nobos' Hmm, but I do this because I have never yet found a fuel station where the hose stretches far enough (cat or no cat). But then I have a people carrier (this probably earns me more 'nobo' points I am guessing).

Since we're on the subject of patronising comments about driving from men, I once had a man compliment me on my reversing saying it was the best reversing he'd ever seen 'from a woman'. It always makes me feel like saying "who the hell do you men think you are thinking you can judge women on their driving when we have way less accidents than you? We are better drivers because we drive with our brains rather than our penises. Driving is not a competition."

Xales · 19/06/2011 10:52

Sorry some of them are not as big as MEN seem to think they are Grin

stallion Hmm

I've trained the cat to fill up the car. Might as well make herself useful while she's there.

She can't stretch the pump over the car unfortunately. I think it's the lack of opposable thumbs.

Animation · 19/06/2011 10:54

Actually the OP has a point.

I'm female - and I don't have a lot of patience for females drivers who dilly dally, and lets face it some do.

Every driver should be able to pull their sleeves up and PULL that nozzle across the car if needs be - I've no problem with that.

HipHopOpotomus · 19/06/2011 10:55

Yep that's sexist. I rarely see anyone do it. I stretch myself Wink

HipHopOpotomus · 19/06/2011 10:56

But it us a good idea! Come on folks let's do it!

Molly have you seen the cravendale advert about cats with opposable thumbs. It's only a matter of time I tell you...

Ime the pump doesn't stretch. But I drive a huge big van with the filler cap at the front.

Pesha · 19/06/2011 11:02

Park further forwards and pull it round behind.

Never had a problem in my Sharan so you can't blame it on people carriers being too big!

HerHissyness · 19/06/2011 11:03

snarl at 'good girl' basingstoke hope that wasn't round here.... I do much of my work in Basingstoke, the petrol's cheap too, so i'd be livid if I got that kind of comment.

Mind you I was complimented on my parking the other day, but it was the guy's WIFE that said I'd impressed her H. I have a landrover, it was a tight space, but you know how when it all just goes right... that was then! Grin

ajandjjmum · 19/06/2011 11:04

Not just women - men as well.

It's all about positioning. Smile

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 19/06/2011 11:04

yes you drive so your BUTT is by the hose

OP posts:
VivaLeBeaver · 19/06/2011 11:05

Nope, still won't reach even when I pull further forward and try and take it from behind. I've tried.
