Good idea? I think so. I can't believe a single family receives this much already in benefits. It is about the same as the average income so it would be ridiculous for any one family to have more in benefits than someone that works?

Bankers

Phillip Green

RobF · 12/06/2011 20:05

What would "getting rid" of Philip Green entail? Shooting him? He can run his empire just as easily from Monaco as he can from London. The only difference is we'd be getting no tax, instead of some.

Glitterknickaz · 12/06/2011 20:06

He doesn't pay fecking tax anyway.
Shouldn't be allowed back.

Anyone who evades tax should not be allowed to return to this country and avail themselves of NHS or education services... anything you pay tax towards basically.

RobF · 12/06/2011 20:08

Do you think Philip Green pays no tax at all? Do you think he uses the NHS or state education?

K999 · 12/06/2011 20:09

If he collapsed in the street, would an ambulance not be called?

Unless he's has a private fleet of course.....

TheHumanCatapult · 12/06/2011 20:11

just pointing out that people shout about someone on befits when you have people that are dodging paying hundred of thousands of pounds but it is alllright becuas ehey they pay on some of their money

RobF · 12/06/2011 20:12

I would wager my life savings that Philip Green has paid more tax in the UK than anyone posting in this thread. Why the hell shouldn't he get an ambulance? Because he's succesful and doesn't pay as much tax as some bitter lefties think he should?

RobF · 12/06/2011 20:13

"just pointing out that people shout about someone on befits when you have people that are dodging paying hundred of thousands of pounds but it is alllright becuas ehey they pay on some of their money"

I imagine that the total tax take from people who pay tax on SOME of their money is a great deal more than from those why pay every penny of tax they are supposed to.

K999 · 12/06/2011 20:16

I didn't say he shouldn't get an ambulance. You asked if he used the NHS implying that perhaps he doesnt?? Or did I pick you up wrong?

Glitterknickaz · 12/06/2011 20:16

So tax evasion is perfectly ok but those scraping by on benefits isn't.

Ok, I get the logic in that.

RobF · 12/06/2011 20:20

Just pointing out the country needs "tax evaders" a lot more than it needs people on benefits. People with something to use as leverage will generally be treated a lot more favourably than those with nothing.

RobF · 12/06/2011 20:21

""I didn't say he shouldn't get an ambulance. You asked if he used the NHS implying that perhaps he doesnt?? Or did I pick you up wrong?"
I've no idea if he's ever needed an ambulance. Anyone that rings for an ambulance in this country will get one, regardless of whether they have ever paid tax, or whether they are a UK citizen.

aliceliddell · 12/06/2011 20:21

Oooh, RobF! Are you looking for bitter lefties? Happy days! You're in luck! I'll pm my number later when no ones looking. Whatcha doing Tuesday? Wanna come to an AntiCuts meeting?

K999 · 12/06/2011 20:22

ROFL that a country needs tax evaders....yeah cos that makes a lot of sense....

TheHumanCatapult · 12/06/2011 20:24

oo Rob youy could end up on befits tomorrow you just do not know and since you are so anti people on them what will you do .

so basically if you have enough money you can do what you like becuase if not you can threaten to throw your toys out yout pram to get ypur own way

Al0uiseG · 12/06/2011 20:25

He's come to the right place for bitter lefties, I just wonder where you all were at the last election Wink

lynehamrose · 12/06/2011 20:26

People who are disabled and have very specific and expensive needs aside (and remember most people don't have a disability of this nature) 25k is perfectly adequate, and indeed far more than many working people live on. If you aren't in receipt of benefits, you have to cut your cloth Accordingly. If you cant afford to live in london or the south east - you don't. Even if your relatives live there. Its absurd that benefits reached a point where they pay better than earning - and now we're paying the price for that. And don't anyone accuse me of being a Tory. I'm just an ordinary working mum who grew up in kent but can't afford to live there as an adult. I don't mind at all paying all my own child care costs, rent, council tax and other bills- but I damn well do object to paying for people who aren't working to live somewhere I couldn't afford !

Glitterknickaz · 12/06/2011 20:27

Do you know what? I'm right out of patience for dealing with trolls, fucknuts and pillocks.

Taking the piss is now the only way forward. Don't give a shit if it offends any more, cos let's face it they don't.

Please note that any further posts from me may not be my real view. It may be though.

Al0uiseG · 12/06/2011 20:29

So how many salaries do we think Philip Greens company pays? How many buildings do they pay rates on? How much tax actually gets swiped out of that "little" lot. I'd rather have Philip Green running Arcadia from Monaco than not at all.

nilbymaaf · 12/06/2011 20:31

I am a single parent with 4 children, 3 with asd and living on benefits because I simply can not work. I don't think I get as much as that, unless dla and carers is included.
WTF is Cameron on about?

TheHumanCatapult · 12/06/2011 20:31

But you can turn that round and say just how much more should he be paying in tax than he is paying currentley.bet there is a few 00 in the answer

TheFrogs · 12/06/2011 20:33

emsies, you dont get a nice cushy 3 bed house on benefits, it doesnt work like that. I got a damp, unmodernised shithole of a two bed council house when I was working full time, moving from a (new build one bedroomed) house I jointly owned but couldn't afford to keep. It was years later that I found myself having to claim benefit when I was made redundant. I worked all my adult life before and after having children. I'd kill for a job right now but I cant get one!

nilbymaaf · 12/06/2011 20:33

I am stuck in the South, and I don't want to be. My 6 year old needs specialist education, there were no such school places up North near my family, so I have to live here.

Al0uiseG · 12/06/2011 20:34

Why "should" he? He's paid loads, his company will continue to pay loads. He lives in another country and costs us as a country fuck all.
