Seriously? If you cant manage at least 40 mph down a perfectly good A road with a limit of 60 mph then, in my opinion, you shouldn't be driving.

Every morning I get stuck behind at least one person who crawls along at 35mph. Invariably they are driving fast expensive cars too!

Dont even get me started on those who drive fast cars slowly whilst wearing hats..... GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Disclaimer - it is a perfectly good road, 60 is a perfectly sensible speed, conditions permitting.

Hats. Always a give-away.

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:42

Hats! How dare they? Bastards.

fuckmepinkandcallmerosie · 09/06/2011 14:43

Hats. And sitting so close to the steering wheel that their nose is touching the windscreen.

TheSkiingGardener · 09/06/2011 14:44

It's not so much hats or OAPs with me, but people hunched up over a steering wheel they are clinging to for dear life while doing at least 30 mph less than the speed limit.

Gah, Gah, Gah!

HughManatee · 09/06/2011 14:45

Hat wearers at either end of the age spectrum (?) are to be avoided. Very short hat wearers who can't see over the steering wheel are the worst.

Disclaimer: I'm a midget, but can just see over the steering wheel.

Pagwatch · 09/06/2011 14:45

I love hats. Hats should come back.
I like ladies in hats that look like a Victoria sponge has melted on their head.

I like these ladies. Let them drive around I say.

It'll be the hat rather than the age of the driver, I'll think you'll find.

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:47

I wear fascinators that bob gently in the balmy breeze as I squint over the steering wheel of my sporty open top brmm-brmm at four miles an hour. I ge tnothing but compliments and admiring looks.

Mumofaflump · 09/06/2011 14:47

Oh! And even though they are only driving at 10 fucking miles per hour they still cannot turn a corner without slowing down even more and going right over the other side of the road.

OP posts:
bumpybecky · 09/06/2011 14:48

how about the ones that drive at 40mph no matter what the speed limit?

I've just been in a queue behind someone driving at a very steady 40mph for miles on the 60mph road, who continued at 40mph through the 30 zone and was last seen heading towards the 20 zone with no sign of any slowing down! Hmm

ShirleyKnot · 09/06/2011 14:48

I keep getting stuck behind some arsehole in a fascinator and open top

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:49

Oh Shirley, are you the one that keeps waving at me and giving me the peace sign?

Mumofaflump · 09/06/2011 14:49

Hully you are exempt for the sole reason that you are in an open top car. An open top car is designed to do that in. 2.0l TDI Golf GTI's like the one I got stuck behind this morning are NOT!

OP posts:
Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:49

Ner, Shirl. Exempt, mate.

itisnearlysummer · 09/06/2011 14:49

last night I drove down a 60 mph road, turned onto another 60mph road which turned into a 30mph road.

I did 32mph the whole time.

Purely because I was behind and old hat wearing person. Grr.

GentleOtter · 09/06/2011 14:50

If they wear 'bunnets', veer dangerously from one side of the road to another, brake suddenly to look at fields or cattle and then kangaroo off in first gear, they are probably farmers.

ShirleyKnot · 09/06/2011 14:50

What about the ones who won't move over into the middle lane while you're trying to get onto the motorway and they are driving at 35 MPH and you all nearly die in a big firey way?

Them ones are the worst ones (apart from the ones who are in front of you on the slip road onto the motorway and they will not go faster than 30 MPH and all of a sudden you're trying to join traffic that is zzoming along at 70 mph and you're doing 33 MPH and you all nearly die in a big firey way)

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:50

'bunnets'? Surely not.

Mumofaflump · 09/06/2011 14:50

Damn you Hully. Now Im even more pissed off. I miss my convertible. Some knob jockey young scamp wrote it off last year.

CroissantNeuf · 09/06/2011 14:51

Have you noticed how many of the hat wearing slow drivers you refer to have either a box of tissues or small cushion on the back parcel shelf?

It seems to be an unwritten rule in the town I live in

ShirleyKnot · 09/06/2011 14:51

Grin @ Hully!

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:51

You'd need an asbestos hat for that, Shirl. And no mistake.

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 14:52

yy small cushions with lace trim. WTF is that about?

Mumofaflump · 09/06/2011 14:52

Well, I'm glad its not just me then!
