and really an argument for enforced sterilization, eugenics or just bloody putting them down.

There is no hope for this country when feral vile "people" like this are allowed to breed.

One bloke no job two kids been sleeping with a girl her sister and her best friend, and good old tax payer picks up the tab.

Some people should not be allowed to breed.

I know its my own fault for watching it Grin

Notice the OP hasn't returned with any argument. Awful attitude

passiveaggresive · 08/06/2011 11:52

The only people i thought who watched JK were teenagers, students and the sort of people who appear on the program itself

Lovecat · 08/06/2011 11:53

Thank you for that BoF - I was wondering if Trills had had a breakdown or something....[rolls eyes at thread]

Mumofaflump · 08/06/2011 11:53

Two ladies from my village went on JK a few years ago. Supposedly to discuss this long-running neighbourhood feud. Complete bollocks! They were and still are the best of friends. The JK show sent one taxi to get them, paid for one hotel room for them to share and paid for joint meals out.

They let rip into each other on stage, it was all scripted for them though. Apparently they even got to choose beforehand which one would be the "workshy layabout" and which one would have done the sleeping around!

passiveaggresive · 08/06/2011 11:53

That sentence makes little grammatical sense, i apologise! Blush

Cocoflower · 08/06/2011 11:55

Some humiliated themselves for a free dinner on national TV?

yoshiLunk · 08/06/2011 11:58

Thank you for that BoF - I was wondering if Trills had had a breakdown or something....

me too, apologies to Trills, for even thinking it.

I think Trillian should be forced to change her name. Angry

plebshire · 08/06/2011 12:21

I am so angry after reading ginhag's link (thankyou for that - really, I feel an angry ITV-bound letter coming on).

In particular: "our director of aftercare, Graham Stanier, a qualified mental health nurse and psychotherapist, saw him [Jamie] prior to the recording, found no evidence of mental illness and deemed Jamie fit to take part."

So, a qualified, but no longer practicing mental health nurse and psycho-fucking-therapist after a quick chat has decided he's qualified to overrule what (i'm assuming) a psychiatrist has diagnosed the boy as suffering from?

That's all kind of bollocks. Angry

EricNorthmansMistress · 08/06/2011 12:24

Oh do fuck off with your 'forced sterilisation' shit

Poverty, poor infant nutrition, poor parental attachment, undiagnosed learning difficulties, hereditary mental health issues, poor parenting models, alcohol and substance misuse, childhood abuse, poor or missing education, Foetal alcohol syndrome, history in care. Just a few of the issues that affect the demographic of the guests on JK far more than the general population.

JK and the producers of that show should be ashamed. They bait and provoke the guests, provide alcohol before the show, stir up disharmony, lie and engineer confrontation so that cunts like you lot can sit in judgement and talk about 'eugenics' and 'incentives not to have children'

Fuck the fuck off.

uselesscamhs · 08/06/2011 12:34

'' .....and really an argument for enforced sterilization, eugenics or just bloody putting them down.

Not amusing. Utterly offensive tripe. Didn't Hitler and the Nazis put forward this arguement 60 years ago to justify the enforced sterilisation and murder of millions.

And was it a quarter or half a million 'gyppos' who were annhilated, katvond?

Shameful.

cannydoit · 08/06/2011 12:36

i heard lots of really dumb people that have jobs and sleep around and have children with other people and are married go look at the relationship boards, people on benefits do not have the monopoly on leading a morally bankrupt life or behaving like idiots they just happen to be the ones to go on the telly.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 08/06/2011 12:42

I have never come so close to leaving MN.

Honestly.

Its full of total wankers.

They may have degrees and dress in boden but they are still wankers.

KingCnut · 08/06/2011 12:54

Unbelievably offensive.

begonyabampot · 08/06/2011 12:59

YABU to watch this crap in the first place. Kyle and the producers are much worse than any of the people they have on their show. It's like the majority of these 'reality' shows which exist so the public can watch the 'freaks' - the staff behind the scenes are manipulating the whole thing for maximum effect.

Glitterknickaz · 08/06/2011 13:04

Casually batting about eugenics as a concept, that's SOOOOO edgy and intelligent isn't it Hmm. Honestly I wonder about some people sometimes.

BooyHoo · 08/06/2011 13:07

"The guests on that show have been failed by society. To sit in judgment of their lives may make you feel better but quite what it does to treat the problem is beyond me"

totally agree with you mamaz0n.

JK and his show infuriates me. it is not a talk show. it is nothing but platform for JK to bully people as a way of making himself feel good.

the people taht appear clearly have problems. of that there is no doubt. teh fact they have an aftercare team is simply alughable. JK does far mroe damage to the relationships involved in the 10 minutes he has them on stage. if i was the 'genius' i would refuse to work with these people knowing rightly that you would have to spend ages undoing all teh damage JK had just caused on stage.

this show is fucking lazy entertainment for people who can't eb arsed to engage their brains and see it for what it is. exploitation of vulnerable people.

bupcakesandcunting · 08/06/2011 13:10

Erm. Right.

I absolutely DO NOT agree with the forced eugenics/gyppos/scum element of this argument. I think it's pretty low and not that far away from being Hitler-esque in it's rhetoric, that argument. Not very good at all.

But, a lot of the people featuring on these types of programmes do not have ANY morals, fucking each other's boyfriends/dads/goats whenever it takes their fancy. This is NOT a class problem, either, as the Royal Family demonstrate. I don't like people with no morals. I don't like thickos (and by thickos, I mean people who don't really understand why fucking some bird up a back alley whilst your partner is at home pregnant, NOT intelligent as determined by IQ) and I think they are fair game to chuckle at. Not all JK people are from council estates, either. But then I doubt you'd be want to poke as much fun at these people if they weren't poor/uneducated. Hmm

manicinsomniac · 08/06/2011 13:10

I've never seen JK but saw a lot of facebook activity around a girl who was in my form at secondary school appearing on the show a few months ago. We're now all 27/8ish btw.

Yes, the storyline sounded shocking on the surface - something about her sister was pregnant with her boyfriend's baby while she was pregnant with her best friend's boyfriend's baby or some trip like that.

But what I bet the show didn't address was the fact that her mum died when she was at school, her stepfather was an abusive alcoholic, she lived with several siblings in a too small council house and she was already pregnant by the time we were taking our GCSEs. I wasn't even particularly friends with her (in fact I was terrifed of her!) so goodness knows what else she went through that her friends knew of.

Putting someone with a background like that onto a show specifically designed to ridicule and poke at the poor life decisions of those with few opportunities is heinous imo.

Glitterknickaz · 08/06/2011 13:12

I really don't think creating a television show to exhibit these individuals is the best way to deal with the issue at hand though, bupcakes.

spiderslegs · 08/06/2011 13:14

Lovely, a real delight OP. Well done.

Things are seriously amiss at the moment.

Has the Dail Mail closed its message boards or something?

Glitterknickaz · 08/06/2011 13:15

Think about the audience demographic on a show like JK.
First you've got the daily mail esques who get themselves het up with righteous indignation but don't think about what is behind these people's - yes these human beings - situation.

Then you've got the warped, twisted lot that think it's funny.

Nobody in their right mind should watch it.

bupcakesandcunting · 08/06/2011 13:15

I agree Glitterknickaz. However, I do think that the less dense amongst us would agree that it's Jeremy Kyle that is the joke of the show, not the participants...

uselesscamhs · 08/06/2011 13:18

The old Bethlem Royal Asylum was very popular destination for Sunday afternoon entertainment in Victorian times.

Sometimes seems little changes for those with learning disability, mental health problems and 'moral insanity'

TrillianAstra · 08/06/2011 13:20

Why were you watching Jeremy Kyle n the first place?

Personally I think it's likely to be all fake, or heavily edited/scripted/primed for extra drama.

TrillianAstra · 08/06/2011 13:20

(oh and hello to anyone who isn'y aware that the OP is not me)
